Chapter 44: The Climber

Climber Zhang Baotong

Climbing to the top of a mountain has always been an adventurous and challenging feat. It is like a dream full of hardships and thrills, inspiring climbers to continue to conquer and forge ahead. And the purpose of this ascent and conquest is to trample under the feet the summits of mountains that humans call impassable.

Attacking the top of the mountain is a long and difficult process. In this process, you need to prepare and wait for the right time. Lightweight and well-equipped equipment can strengthen the force of the impact towards the peak. However, once all the technical and preparatory work is completed, the impact on the peak begins.

Climbing the treacherous ice peaks is a life-and-death struggle between the fragile flesh and blood and the impregnable mountains. At the beginning of the climb, the mountain is gentle, the weather is mild, but as the climber goes deeper and climbs, the geological mountain becomes steep and treacherous, the mountain peaks and valleys, the cross-river cliffs, the four wild wilderness, the mountains are isolated, sometimes the wind and clouds change suddenly, the temperature drops, the wind is raging, the rain and snow are combined, the ice and rocks in front of you are gloomy and steep, reaching into the sky, and the invisible avalanche is like a trap hidden on the way forward, so that every step to victory is full of extraordinary hardships, and one unstable step will be destroyed.

At this point, they may be exhausted and injured, they may be in trouble, isolated, and the summit they are about to conquer is still so steep and distant, like an unattainable dream.

Is it a tenacious will to fight a wild duel with heaven and earth, or to bow down to the proud peak? This is a test of man's self-will and spirit. However, only a handful of climbers are able to cross the limits of this harsh environment and psychological endurance. With their indomitable tenacity, they dominate the body and support their faith, transforming the strength of flesh and blood into the spiritual strength that supports them to continue climbing, to conquer and overcome the seemingly unattainable ice and snow peak.

From the moment the climber steps on the head of the "top of the mountain" and looks down on the surrounding peaks, these peaks are no longer inviolable. At this time, the sea of clouds is fluttering, the peaks are standing, and the infinite scenery is in full view. It's probably the most spectacular and beautiful scenery on the planet. However, they could not linger on this magnificent scenery for too long, because the journey down the mountain was also extremely difficult and dangerous.

This feeling of victory can be very short-lived, and the climber must walk down from the summit to mark the completion of the climbing task. Some people may ask about the meaning and reward of climbing. From a secular or practical point of view, the gains may be insignificant. Because this kind of thing full of hardships and obstacles does not bring the slightest profit, only a little honor. However, the significance it produces is extraordinary. It condenses a steely will and a brilliant feat of humanity beyond the limits of mental and physical abilities into a great spirit that stands forever on the pinnacle and inspires others to climb the ladder with perseverance.
