Chapter 957.The Profound Impact of Family Education (Part II)

The Profound Impact of Family EducationZhang Baotong 2018.10.5

A few years ago, when I was working as a secretary in the school, a class teacher complained to me that the students in the class were very difficult to lead, and the teachers worked a lot, but their academic performance was always not improving. I went to that class to conduct a survey and found that among the more than 40 students in the class, more than 30 of them had parents who were in business or working in the building materials market, and they were too busy to take care of their children all day. And there are seventeen or eighteen people who belong to single families whose parents are divorced. I have been in school for many years, and I know that those large and small southern bosses and part-time workers in the building materials market are busy doing business during the day and playing cards and drinking at night. Especially those single-parent families, they don't care about their children, often don't cook, give their children some money, and let their children buy their own food. Therefore, these children not only have poor learning ability, but also have poor self-control ability, which is very difficult to manage.

Children's growth sometimes does not need a lot of money, but parents need to be patient and meticulous discipline and guidance, if only the family has money, and do not spend time to manage children, then, it is also very detrimental to the growth of children. This kind of family is not a good educational environment. Compared with children with good family conditions, children from poor families and poor conditions have lost the opportunity, so they must be more assiduous and motivated in personal struggle and struggle. And hardship and hard work are the strengths and advantages of children from poor families. Therefore, we can also see many examples of children from poor families who are inspirational and achieve great things. In terms of life education, in a family with a bad environment, the child is already obviously behind at the starting line, so he can only try to catch up in the process of running.

This process of catching up is not just in the primary, secondary and university years, but also throughout life. After leaving school, many people focus on the practical life of employment, earning money, marrying a wife and having children, and relax their studies and progress. And this period is the best time to catch up and surpass. Education is not just in school, but throughout life.

In contrast to the lack of responsibility for the educational environment and responsibility of children, another educational phenomenon should also cause our attention. A few years ago, there was a popular slogan called "Don't let your child lose at the starting line". Although this sentence has been questioned and denied, the craze set off by it has not subsided. In fact, many parents simply don't understand what is wrong with this sentence. They feel that children's education should be grasped as tightly as possible, and they do not understand that such a practice will cause serious consequences for the seedlings to grow.

Seriously, when I heard this sentence suddenly, it felt very reasonable, but after careful analysis, I realized that this sentence was very deceptive and extremely harmful. Because people's educational environment is different, people's developmental abilities are also different. Some people are talented, and some people are late bloomers. Some people can recite 300 Tang poems, but they have achieved nothing in terms of work innovation. Some people have obtained a master's degree and a doctorate, but they have not been able to produce any academic results. Although some people do not go to school much, they can become experts and technicians in the work of the unit. If you look at the Nobel laureates, which one of them has not worked in a scientific research project or field for decades and researched for decades to achieve amazing results? How many of them have won at the starting line?

Under the influence of this slogan, it has set off a vigorous and even a boom in early education. In order not to let the children lose at the starting line, parents blindly compare, for fear that their children are not as good as other people's children, so that children start to learn English, Olympiad mathematics, piano, vocal music, and even football and model airplanes very early. Many teachers in our school are busy taking their children here to tutor in English, Olympiad math there, piano and dance there. Others take their children to learn football, diving, swimming, and table tennis. Almost all of the children's free time is occupied. Of course, the hard work paid off, and their children got their wish to go to better secondary schools and even better universities. However, if a child spends his entire school years in study and tutoring, is this really good for his future growth?

Have we ever wondered if Einstein, Edison, Newton, and Chen Jingrun were also cultivated in this way? Although Lang Lang and Ding Junhui were talents forcibly cultivated by their fathers. However, how many parents can go out of their way to smash the pot and sell iron for the sake of their children's success? And how high is the success rate of such a family?

Some people say that times are different and competition is fierce. However, no matter what the times are and how fierce the competition is, there is always a law in education, and we should pay attention to science. A child's mental power and energy are always limited, if you fill his mind with too much knowledge, then will he still have time for independent thinking and recreation? If a child only knows how to study hard and study hard, but has no leisure, entertainment, and thinking, will he have the consciousness and desire to create? If his childhood and youth are almost occupied by learning, will he feel joy and happiness in life? If he only knows how to deal with books all day long, will his ability to interact with others be affected?

If you are a parent, do you think that your child's optimistic personality is important, or is your child's career achievement important? In fact, as a parent, more people will choose to hope that their child's future will be happy, and whether they can gain fame and achievement is secondary. If you can really figure it out, you should give your child plenty of time and space to let him have his own world. We can't deliberately train our children to be scientists or artists, but we can raise them to be optimistic, cheerful and positive normal people. And such a normal person may become a scientist or an artist in the future.

I've spent most of my life in school, but I've seen many children who excel in their studies who don't like to study, preferring school breaks and hanging out with their classmates. I have also seen some teachers who don't want to be teachers, some students who are admitted to college sell all their books, and some students who go to college are blind all day long. I know two professional table tennis players who came down from the provincial team, and their skills are beyond the reach of us amateur players. However, not only did they not like to play at all, but they also wanted to vomit when they saw playing. I asked them why, and they said it was because they were tired of training too much in the past. However, I still think that they are not passionate enough about their profession. If it's love, it's that if you train a lot, you don't get bored.

So, I thought that the reason why many students get bored with learning later in life is because they feel that they have learned too much and are bored. Learning is a hard and boring thing, and if you don't have some kind of motivation in life, I'm afraid no one will like to study. If parents and teachers put extra homework on their children, it is easy for them to become disgusted and bored with learning prematurely. Once children have a rebellious mentality towards learning, it is easy to cause undeserved tragedy in their lives.

Our country and nation believe in Confucian culture, and have a strong sense of hoping that their sons will become dragons and their daughters will become phoenixes, and they attach great importance to children's education, but they do not know much about how to educate children scientifically. This is because we don't pay enough attention to our own education. If our own education level and ability improve, we will not only provide a better educational environment for our children, but also make a better role model for our children. This will be more conducive to children's learning and growth.
