Chapter 466: Zhuang Gong Dream Butterfly
Ding Cheng laughed, no way, strength does not allow low-key!
After the professional baptism of Hollywood, it is more comfortable to return to Southeast Asia, needless to say, acting skills, especially teamwork, can give directors a lot of advice and inspiration.
This is the legendary dimensionality reduction strike?
Back in Los Angeles, I saw the script I liked, the source code.
The captain of the Air Force, who was on a mission in the field, suddenly woke up and found himself on a high-speed train, with an unknown woman, Christian, talking to him.
The protagonist doesn't know why he's on this train, and he realizes that he is actually in the identity of another person, and just as he is confused, an explosion suddenly occurs on the train......
Woke up again and found himself in a closed space warehouse, where a female officer, Goodwin, was talking to him via video and asking him to report what had happened on the train.
Confused, before he could figure out what was going on, he was put on the train again. This time, I finally realized that I was on a mission to investigate the train bombing, find the criminals, and find the next target. I was put on that high-speed train again and again, and it only took eight minutes each time!
Another wonderful suspenseful reasoning!
After getting the contract and officially starting shooting, the director explained the logic of the story to himself. Everyone has brain waves in their brain, and then when they are running, just like a computer system, there is a buffer area with a capacity of about 8 minutes of memory content.
That is to say, everything that has just happened wants to be perfectly stored in this area as well as a backup, but only for 8 minutes, and the fragments that exceed 8 minutes are deleted by the brain itself, and only part of the remembered content is retained.
Scientists use these 8-minute memories to create source code, which turns memories into an illusion, establishes a system called siege, transplants the victim's memories into the brains of living people, and the living repeatedly enter the 8-minute illusion to find out the real cause of the victim's death.
So in order to save the safety of other people, the protagonist was arranged to go back to hell again and again, experienced dangers, and was blown up by bombs again and again, just to find out who the bomber was?
According to Ding Cheng's interpretation, at first, he was unconsciously in the illusion, but as the number of entries increased, his memories began to overlap, so he found clues and began to question the beautiful contacts who communicated with him.
So he gradually knew the truth, and then began to resist, because the pain of being blown up again and again made him want to die at once, instead of being tortured repeatedly.
However, he later became a savior and took the initiative to accept this mission, on the condition that he would die in peace after completing the mission and escape from endless torture.
With his ingenuity, he finally found the prisoner and prevented a nuclear attack, but fortunately, the director did not fall into clichés, but gave the audience the first climax: the protagonist wants to die, and after completing the task, he immediately hopes that the organization will fulfill its promise, but the organization is busy catching thieves, reporting to superiors, holding a press conference, and asking him to wait for a reply.
The contradiction began, the two sides were playing, and the liaison officer suddenly became the key figure in changing the situation. It is she who agrees to the protagonist's request, and in the end, conscience triumphs over reason, and the danger of sacrificing her profession is gradually fulfilled. Go back to the 8-minute memory again to save the train, and then when the time is over, press the end button.
Just when the audience thought it was a tragic ending, the director came to an unexpected ending: the illusion after eight minutes was indeed terminated, but after a while it restarted, and the frozen time suddenly continued to start, and everything began according to the normal logic of life.
The protagonist and his girlfriend even get out of the car and go to the city to drink coffee together, the difference is that the illusion creator can't do whatever he wants, but lives according to normal logic.
As soon as the screen turned, back to reality, the contact officer suddenly received a text message, which was actually from the dead protagonist, telling her that the function of the source code was far beyond everyone's imagination!
This is the charm of a good script, from the beginning when the protagonist finds himself inexplicably occupying a stranger's body and begins to set up suspense to bury the baggage, and then unwraps the burden step by step, to find that he has become a tool of the military, and also reveals a government conspiracy involving bioethics.
But the ingenuity lies in setting an unexpected open-ended ending, usually science fiction films set up a world view that allows the audience to quickly and comprehensively understand in advance, this work is a different way, but in the film vaguely explains a theory about quantum mechanics.
A new technology that has just been in the experimental stage, even the military has not studied it, so in the end, there can be a wonderful ending that is so unexpected and acceptable to the audience.
This is understandably unexpected!
The director is very ambitious and touches on two philosophical ultimate questions, one is whether consciousness can be separated from the body, and the other is the causal logic of going back in time.
Not many people dare to play these two things, because if you smash it, the film is a disaster movie!
The first is awareness, which is both familiar and unfamiliar with self-awareness. What is familiar is that we wake up from our body every day, to see the world, to interact with the world, and the existence of consciousness is so taken for granted.
What is unfamiliar is that there are so many bodies that can carry consciousness, why does my consciousness only exist in my own body? What makes this "bond" so unbreakable? And what makes us even more curious and terrifying is, if we die, where will consciousness go?
