Chapter Eighty-Seven: Manipulating the Patronus

As he left the Quidditch pitch and walked to the greenhouse, Jon saw Draco Malfoy return to the castle from afar, surrounded by his two younger brothers, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle.

"My dad was upset about my injury, and he had complained to the school administrators as well as to the Ministry of Magic...... My dad was an influence, you know. Malfoy shouted triumphantly, "That stupid big guy thinks so much of Potter and dares to ask his pet to hurt me, I'm afraid he won't be a teacher anymore!"

Malfoy walked crookedly, his right arm wrapped in a bandage and hanging from a sling.

"Don't you think it's awkward to walk like this, Draco!" Jon said angrily when he heard Goyle clatter in front of him.

"No, no, no, it makes me look more like a hero!" Malfoy said confidently, "You, don't understand!"

Jon couldn't help but chuckle...... Think about when I was in junior high school, I deliberately talked back to my teacher, or did something conspicuous and out of line, in order to get the attention of others...... Form 2 is a path that everyone must go through in life!

"It's you!" the laugh clearly caught Malfoy's attention, and he turned his head and stared at Jon fiercely.

Apparently Malfoy remembered the day before school started, in the carriage.

"Good afternoon!" Jon greeted with a smile.

"You goddamn mud...... Cowards, liars, fools......" Malfoy scolded viciously.

Jon glanced around, didn't respond, and continued walking towards the castle.

"Crabbe, Goyle...... Teach him!" just as Malfoy gave the order.

"What's going on?" a gentle voice came from behind them.

Professor Remus-Lupin asked with some confusion as he glanced at Crabbe and Goyle, who were tense in their muscles.

Both Crabbe and Goyle hurriedly took a few steps back...... They don't have the guts to type in front of their teachers.

"Nothing, Lupin—Professor!" Malfoy deliberately said at length the sound between the two words, and swaggered away.

As he approached the castle, he deliberately shouted to Crabbe, "He's dressed worse than my house-elves......"

......

Jon had noticed Lupin behind him, so he ignored the Malfoy trio and went straight back to the castle.

At 7 o'clock in the evening he had to go to Snape's office for "Potions tutoring", but now he had more than four hours to spare.

Jon carried his bag to the room on the eighth floor, looked around, waited until no one was there, opened the door and walked in.

In the responsive room, he can read and study quietly without being disturbed by anyone.

After a year, there is the use of the room of requirement、He has long been as pure as fire。 Except for the plane where things are hidden, the rest of the common planes, Jon only needs one thought to make the space change.

Jon carefully read the new textbooks Standard Spells, Level 2, The Beginner Transfiguration Guide - Volume II, and Defence Against the Dark Arts Basics...... During the summer vacation, because of some accidents, he didn't prepare well at all.

The curriculum at Hogwarts is not heavy, and the teachers are not strict at all...... Many students can spend most of their time on Quidditch and then copy their classmates' homework!

Jon wasn't the same, though, he was the one who was copied. Hufflepuff sophomores like Zacharis, Steven, and even Eloise were all counting on copying his homework to cope with the teacher.

It wasn't until about six o'clock that Jon had put all his books back into his backpack.

He walked out of the Room of Requirement, went to the hall to grab a bite to eat, and then walked to the Potions teacher's office in the basement.

......

At 6:55 p.m., Jon arrived at Snape's office just in time.

He knocked lightly on the door.

"Come in!" came Snape's greasy voice from inside the room.

Snape's office was as dimly lit as ever, the hundreds of glass bottles full of specimens still on the shelves as if they hadn't been touched.

Severus Snape was there with potions.

The cauldron in front of him was boiling several herbs...... Unfortunately, Jon didn't know any of them.

"Professor, what is this?" Jon asked, curious.

"Wolf Poison Potion!" Snape said coldly, "a potion with an extremely complicated brewing process!"

Jon frowned, no wonder...... The wolf poison potion can be said to be one of the top potions, and there are probably not many wizards in the world who can configure it, otherwise the werewolf would not be so dangerous.

Jon wanted to lean over to take a few looks, but Snape had rudely covered the cauldron.

"Wolfsbane Potion, taken a week before the night of the full moon, keeps the werewolf sane even when it becomes a wolf, making the extremely dangerous werewolf a little safer, and its inventor is Damcos Belby......" Snape said, taking off his dragonskin gloves.

Jon was stunned for a moment, he didn't ask about the effect of the wolf poison potion!

And it seemed that the configuration process had already been completed, as if Snape had deliberately opened the lid of the crucible to arouse his own interest.

However, he was soon relieved.

"Professor, could it be that you have a friend who is a werewolf, and he is too pathetic......" Jon whispered.

"Shut up!" Snape glared at him viciously, "Hart, think before you speak!"

......

Fortunately, Snape didn't have much obsession with the Wolf Poison potion, and he soon left his office with Jon with him.

After passing through several corridors, they came to a familiar classroom...... Defence Against the Dark Arts class practice classroom.

Snape took a few steps forward, then turned back and said:

"I don't understand why Professor Dumbledore wants me to teach you the Patronus Charm, it seems to me that it should be the responsibility of the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher!" Snape's face showed contempt:

"But since you're here, I just want you to be a little smarter, and don't make me feel ashamed!"

"The Patronus Charm is a reflection of all your most positive emotions, so before you release it, you need to recall your happiest things in your mind......" Snape paused for a moment when referring to "the happiest things": "It can finally evoke a semi-embodied positive force that drives away some disgusting creatures, such as the Dementors hovering around our school." ”

"Professor, do you hate Dementors too?" Jon asked innocently.

"Shut up and don't ask questions!" Snape glared at him viciously, acquiescing.

Jon smiled secretly.

"Now, Hart...... Show me!" Snape commanded, his face suddenly changed.

Jon pursed his lips, then drew his wand and aimed it seriously at the clearing.

Now that Snape is by his side, he won't be afraid even if his magic gets out of control...... So he can safely and boldly summon his Patronus to see what is wrong with it!

"Expecto patronum!" he shouted.

A dazzling silver light appeared at the end of his wand, and the whole room seemed to be surrounded by this silver light, filled with a warm aura...... Then, a large silver shadow erupted from the end of his wand...... Then slowly coalesce into shape.

Something strange happened again, and Jon felt his legs go limp again, and his right hand, which was clenched on his wand, began to tremble a little......

"Idiot!" only to hear Snape's angry scolding, "You're controlling the Patronus, not the Patronus...... Restrain your wand and don't let the Patronus drain your mana!"

Jon was shocked, and he quickly took a deep breath, trying to control the emission of silver light.

Sadly, a few minutes later, he failed......

Only a crisp explosion was heard, and the Iron-Eating Beast Patronus exploded into silver powder before it could take shape.

Snape frowned, he didn't speak, as if thinking about something.

"Professor?" Jon asked softly.

"Don't bother me, Hart!" Snape said coldly.

A crimson potion flew in front of Jon.

"Revive the potion, drink it, and wait for me here!" Snape said before walking out of the classroom.

Jon hurriedly picked up the potion...... Revival Potions are a fairly advanced potion that requires passing the OWLs exam for sixth graders to be eligible for in Potions class, and it can restore a lot of strength to a wizard, and it wouldn't be so embarrassing if you had it in your hand during the summer vacation at Charing Crossroads.

After drinking a whole bottle of potion, his physical condition seemed to improve a lot.

Snape hurried back, his cold voice commanding, "Go on!"

"Expecto patronum!" Jon began to summon his Patronus again.

"Relax!" Snape's voice came from behind him.

"Don't try to control your Patronus......" Snape continued, "Assuming your wand isn't in your hand, relax your body completely!"

Jon was stunned, it was almost the opposite of the previous order.

With a flicker of silver light, the Iron Eater Patronus reappeared in front of Jon once more, looking slightly larger than before.

"An ugly bear!" Snape pouted, apparently not recognizing the iron-eating beast...... He continued to command, "Communicate with your Patronus, Hart, don't command it?"

"Communication?" Jon was stunned again, the book "Summoning the Joy of Your Heart" borrowed in the forbidden book section did not mention communication with the Patronus from beginning to end.

But he did so, putting down his wand and looking the Patronus in the eye, Jon trying to calm his emotions as much as he could.

As if aware of something, the Patronus ran to Jon's side, reaching out its furry paws and touching Jon's face...... Then it landed on all fours, and it raced around Jon.

Without trying to command the Patronus, Jon no longer felt the pressure from the Patronus, but instead felt a very relaxed feeling......

It didn't take long for Jon to reclaim his Patronus.

And he succeeded! What he summoned this time was not a moving explosives packet, but a complete patronus.

Looking back-

Severus Snape was long gone, nowhere to be seen.
