Chapter 337: The Portkey (Part 3)
Fawkes was in the garden of Greengrass Manor, and a basket of herbs was placed in front of her.
I saw the phoenix burrow its head into the basket and feast on it...... It wasn't until footsteps appeared behind her that she retracted her head a little unhappily.
"It's time for us to go!" Jon whispered.
Obviously, Mrs. Greengrass knew the habits of the phoenix, so she deliberately took some food suitable for the phoenix.
It's just that Jon is a little emotional, this stupid bird is too unguarded, she didn't hesitate to eat it without hesitation, she didn't know someone who fed her...... What if you meet a bad guy and get trafficked?
"Uhh
"There are some backs. Jon patiently coaxed.
The phoenix shook its head again and took a few steps back, vowing not to leave the basket of herbs.
Jon had an idea and proposed, "I'll bring this basket of herbs back, right?"
When Fawkes heard this, he thought it was a good idea and quickly got out of the way.
Seeing Jon pack all the remaining herbs into the herb bag, she spread her wings and pointed her tail feathers at Jon.
"Send me to the Ministry of Magic. Jon said.
Then he grabbed the tail feathers of the phoenix.
......
Following Phoenix, Jon came to a slightly bleak side street, with several shabby-looking offices and a tavern...... There is also a dilapidated red phone booth -
I walked into the phone booth and dialed the number "62442......
"Welcome to the Ministry of Magic, please state your name and what to do. An indifferent female voice rang in his ears.
"Christopher Patrick. Jon said, putting on the iron ring, "I'm going to go to the Portkey Office of the Department of Magical Transportation to request a portkey. โ
"Thank you...... Guests, please pick up the badge and pin it in front of your clothes. โ
As the indifferent female voice sounded, a silver badge fell from the place where the coin was returned. Jon pinned the silver badge to his chest, and the red phone booth began to descend sharply like an elevator.
As with his previous visit to the Ministry of Magic, Jon was at the wizard named "Eric", and his wand was examined.
"Made of plum wood, eleven inches, with a dragon's heart tendon at the core, and it's been used for twenty-two years, right?" the wizard asked lazily.
"That's right. Jon nodded, "This is the wand I inherited from my father." โ
"It's alright, let's go inside!" Eric said without thinking.
Entering the doors of the Ministry of Magic, and through the crowd, Jon made his way to a smaller hall in front of him. There are at least twenty elevators here, blocked by golden fence gates.
Entering one of the elevators, Jon heard the same nonchalant female voice from earlier: "The seventh floor, the Department of Magical Sports, contains the British and Irish Quidditch League Command, the official Gobstone Club, and the Office of Funny Product Patents. โโ
"The sixth level, the Magical Traffic Division, contains the Floo Network Administration, the Broomstick Management Control Bureau, the Portkey Office, and the Phantom Apparition Test Center. โ
Jon hurriedly stepped out of the elevator and began to check the door numbers of the offices on the sixth floor in turn.
......
Until he found the portkey office.
The room was small, with six counters, each with a wizard behind it, half of which had a wizard in front of the counter, and Jon came to an empty counter.
"What's the matter?" asked the wizard at the counter without raising his head.
"I need a key to the Tower of Newmengard. Jon said calmly.
"Where is it?" the wizard looked up in surprise, not hearing the name of the place Jon had spoken.
"The Tower of Newmondard!" Jon repeated.
"Hell, how could anyone go there. The wizard's face changed suddenly, and he muttered.
"Can't you deal with one thing?" Jon continued to ask calmly.
The wizard shook his head: "Do you have permission from Albus Dumbledore to go to the Tower of Newmengard, do you have it?"
"No, but I have Professor Dumbledore's seal, you just have to tell me what the format of the permission is. โ
......
Pulling out a piece of parchment, Jon walked out of the Portkey office.
In the seat in the hallway, he snapped his fingers lightly and summoned Fawkesโ
Then he grabbed one of Fawkes's paws and made a paw print on the parchment.
He then returned to the Portkey's office and handed the parchment back to the wizard.
The wizard took his wand and gestured at the Fawkes's paw print from all directions for several minutes before nodding a little puzzled: "There should be no problem with the seal......
โ...... But I'm still going to have to ask our director, I can't be the master of this extremely important level of portkey alone!" he added.
Ten minutes later, the wizard returned in a hurry, still holding a half-new leather boot in his hand.
"It has been determined that there are no problems. He said, handing the boots to Jon, "Undo the laces and you will be able to break the seal on this portkey." โ
"Okay, thank you!"
......
Within a 100-mile radius of the Newmengard Tower, the use of apparition and Floo networks is prohibited. It is also said that a large area around the tower is a forest with a large number of dangerous magical creatures...... Combined with the tower's own defenses, it's arguably the most heavily defended prison in the world.
Jon wasn't sure if the Phoenix's ability to travel through space would take him there, but he decided not to take the risk and come to the Ministry of Magic to request a portkey.
......
Back on the slightly bleak side street, Fox flew up to him after stepping out of the red phone booth.
"Let's go, let's go!" Jon was about to unlace his boots when Fawkes let out a strange scream.
Jon looked at her in surprise.
A feather fell from the phoenix's body and floated towards Jon.
Holding the feather to his ear for a moment, Jon said calmly, "Dumbledore is calling you back?"
Phoenix nodded slightly.
"Alright, we'll see you next time!" Jon forced a smile.
Phoenix's gaze looked at Jon's suitcase reluctantly.
"Eat...... You know ...... eat," Jon couldn't help but shake his head, then opened the suitcase and threw the half basket of herbs that Fawkes hadn't finished eating.
Fawkes ignored the herbs, and she flew over to Jon's side, her long beak pecking Jon's shoulderโ
Left a golden mark on Jon's shoulder.
