Chapter 26: The Eve of Halloween (Part II)

After a trip to the Owl Shed, Jon mailed letters to the potions shops in Diagon Alley, asking if they had the horns of a bicornus and the snakeskin fragments of an African tree snake, and how much they costed.

It took a long time, and when it was getting dark, he hurried back to the castle.

As soon as you walk into the hallway in front of the auditorium, you can smell the sweet and enticing smell of roasted pumpkin.

"It smells so good!" Jon sniffed.

Walk into the auditorium, where the lights and candles are dazzling, a thousand bats flutter over the walls and ceiling, a thousand more like low clouds swarming, and many huge pumpkins carved into lanterns that can barely seat three people.

As at the beginning of the school year, the four long tables were densely packed with students from the four colleges.

"Jon, over here!" Hannah Abbott waved eagerly at him.

He hurriedly walked over and sat between her and Ernie McMillan.

"It's been a long time since I've seen you, Jon!"

"yes, long time no see. ”

While they were greeting, all sorts of delicacies suddenly appeared on golden plates in front of them.

"Professor Dumbledore is said to have invited a band of skeletons to perform later!" said Ernie, nibbling on a chicken leg.

Jon was flicking the skin of a potato when something flashed behind him, startling him.

It was a moving skeleton, and at such a close distance, even the ribs and interstitial bones could be seen clearly...... It let out a weird laugh with the bass in its hand, and walked to the front desk.

"Wow......" the hall screamed.

In addition to the bass, there are drummers, guitarists, pianoists, and a lead singer. Without exception, they are not living people, but skeletons.

"Welcome!" Dumbledore was the first to stand up and applaud.

With him taking the lead, teachers and students began to applaud together.

The skeleton lead singer bowed in all four directions, and then the performance began:

"Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hogwarts.

"Teach us knowledge,

"Whether we're old men......

The first piece they played was actually the Hogwarts school song.

......

The eager banquet lasted more than two hours.

The last song of the band of skeletons seems to have a wonderful incitement that makes everyone passionate.

Ernie excitedly boasted at the banquet that there had been two ministers of magic in the history of the McMillan family, and Hannah insisted on pulling Jon to show him the Harry Potter of Gryffindor, but unfortunately failed and Mr. Potter did not appear at the banquet again, and the most excessive was undoubtedly Zacharis, who said that Professor Sprout was about to appoint him as the Hufflepuff Seeker, and that the sound was loud enough to spread from the castle to Hagrid's cabin......

Jon, on the other hand, didn't seem to be much affected by the singing, and when he first heard it, he did have a strong urge to show off, but that emotion was quickly suppressed by himself......

You know, even Cedric Diggory, a top fourth-grader, was not immune to the music, where he boasted that forty-six girls had secretly written him love letters since he was a child.

Could it be the effect of Occlumency?

Unfortunately, Jon couldn't be sure, all the students were celebrating together, and he couldn't even see where the teachers were.

Eventually, Professor Dumbledore waved his wand, and everyone in the hall recovered, and the Skeletons quietly left.

"Great night, huh?" said Dumbledore with a smile, "but now, everyone might have to go back to rest!"

The students began to stream out...... A lot of people are red-faced.

Hufflepuff and Slytherin students were going to meet in the basement, and their crowds mingled.

"Jon......" Astoria Greengrass squeezed in.

"What did you say when you heard that song?" she blushed.

Jon saw Astoria's sister Daphne behind her, glanced at herself, and quickly left.

"What ...... me" Before Jon could figure out what to say, the crowd in front of him stopped.

Everyone was crammed into one intersection.

"What's going on? give way to ......" Hufflepuff prefect Gabriel Truman and Slytherin prefect Gemma Farley began trying to get out of the crowd.

Squeezing as far forward as he could, through the crowd, Jon saw something shining on the wall in front of him.

Just between the two windows, on the wall a foot above the ground...... There seemed to be some scribbling there, faintly visible under the burning torches.

The handwriting is bright red, and it looks a little hideous and terrifying. The boisterous and chattering sounds had disappeared, and all the students had fallen silent.

"The Chamber of Secrets was opened...... Those who are enemies of the heirs, be wary. Gabriel had squeezed to the front, he whispered.

"What's that? hanging underneath?" one student shouted, pointing to a dark shadow under the sign.

There was a puddle of water on the ground, and above it, on the stand of a torch, hung a cat upside down...... Mrs. Loris, Filch's cat.

There were also three students, standing alone in the hallway, between the crowd and the signs.

"Harry......" Hannah whispered, "And Ron, Hermione...... Why are you here?"

Three Gryffindor sophomores...... Except for Potions lessons, they don't usually pass by!

......

"What's going on here, what's going on?" said Argus Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts Castle, seemingly drawn to the voice.

Then he saw Lady Loris, who stumbled back a few steps and grabbed his face with his hand in horror.

"My cat, my cat, what's wrong with Lady Loris?" he screamed.

At that moment, his bulging eyes saw Harry.

"You, Potter!" he shouted, his voice extremely miserable, "it's you...... It was you who killed my cat...... It was you who killed her......"

"No...... I'm not...... I didn't...... Don't talk nonsense......" Harry Potter stammered as he stepped back.

Looking at his panicked expression, Jon suspected that with a different detective, he could basically go straight to the stone hammer.

"You did it......" Filch spat out: "You saw that letter in my office, you know I'm a squib, so you ......"

"Wait a minute, Argus!" an old, determined voice came from the back of the crowd.

Albus Dumbledore arrived at the scene, along with a number of teachers.

The crowd quickly made way for them, and he walked past Harry, Ron, and Hermione, untying Lady Loris from the torch holder.

"Come with me, Argus. Dumbledore's voice was full of majesty and solemnity, "And you, Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley, Miss Granger. ”
