Chapter 373: Ladder to the Sky

Driving on the sky road, it was diligently dug out by the local villagers, and the terrain is steep, like a ribbon running through the entire valley. It is also often the most popular place for all kinds of road cars to conquer. Spring and summer are shrouded in clouds and mist, and winter is covered in silver, even if it is steep and fairyland.

The 500-meter-long boardwalk that follows the winding river makes it possible to walk on the boardwalk to get in touch with nature more intimately. The turquoise river and the green hills, while walking, the birds and insects chirp, it is very pleasant.

Because it is niche and mysterious, the beauty here is rarely disturbed by tourists, and it is primitive everywhere and not overopened. Mountains, water, stones, and trees, each of which has its own style, seems to be carved quietly, and it is natural.

The landscape in the Grand Canyon is all naturally formed, with primeval forests, Qianzhang waterfalls, a sea of clouds on the top of the mountain, and karst landforms. The "cliff plank road" dug and built by hand in the canyon must also be experienced, shuttling between the mountainside, with villages, fields, and rivers at the feet, thrilling and beautiful.

Walking into Xiaohe Village, you will find metasequoia on the left, metasequoia on the right, metasequoia in the front and metasequoia in the back. Walking into the metasequoia forest, and then going deeper, I suddenly walked into another world far away from the world, a vast, boundless, quiet and even mysterious and unknowable world.

The metasequoia tree is a rare tree species left over from the Quaternary glaciation, which attracted great attention when it was discovered here, and became a national first-class nature reserve, so it has the reputation of the world's first cedar.

In early autumn, the metasequoia forest is dazzling yellow against the backdrop of the sunset, strolling here, whispering with the cedar leaves, greeting with the green grass, inviting songs with the cattle and sheep, and talking with the herdsmen, which is intoxicating!

Cross the wind and rain bridge, cross the village stream, and come to Yumu Village. The whole village is nestled in a flat dam surrounded by mountains, and along both sides of the stream are green hemp and willow trees. Looking from afar, the mountains are verdant, at the foot of the mountain are the scattered Qiang buildings and Tujia stilted buildings, the eaves battlement ridges, the oilwood exterior walls, and the wind and rain cool bridges and watchtowers, which highlight the unique Qiang village style.

In front of the house, there are green tea gardens, the breeze blows, the fragrance of tea is blowing on the face, and occasionally farmers pick tea in the field. Leaning on the sundeck of the stilted building, watching the turbulent stream, the tea trees, the busy villagers, and the singing and dancing performances of the Qiang, Tujia and Miao peoples, it is like falling into a paradise and unwilling to leave.

Only a little over 500 families live here. There is the best-preserved Tujia cottage in China, and the city wall and plank road are exquisite. Located deep in the mountains, it is surrounded by clouds and mist in the early morning, and the midday sun shines on the terraced rice fields.

The local houses are all built of bluestone, and the residents' lives are simple and simple, without too many modern equipment, just like returning to the original Tujia village.

Legend has it that in ancient times, the two major toasts of Ma and Tan fought, and the dangerous terrain of Yumu Village made Tan Tusi unable to attack for a long time, and a few months later, in order to humiliate Tan Tusi, the horse Tusi who defended the village sent people to throw down countless live fish from the village, and landed in front of the Tan Tusi tent who came to attack the village.

Tan Tusi is also a smart person, understands Ma Tusi's intentions, and sighs with shame: I Ke this village, such as the edge of the wood to seek fish, from the name of Yumu Village.

The checkpoints are majestic, and the roads are difficult and cramped. The two Xiazhai roads are all built with stones, and the stone steps are steep and narrow, especially the two sections of the bright ladder and the Sanyangguan hand-picked rock, which can be called a natural risk.

There are 28 levels in total, each level is made of a stone slab about 1.5 meters long and about 40 centimeters wide, one end is inserted into the rock wall, and the other end is built suspended in the air, and each level is lit up with each other, hence the name Liang Ladder.

On the pedestrian ladder, the sky is ethereal overhead, and the deep valley is under your feet, which is thrilling, dangerous, and strange. Hand rock straight digging on the northwest Taiping rock of the village, a total of 32 steps, each step is about 50 centimeters wide, the depth of the hole is less than 20 centimeters, the shape is like a crescent moon, it is the path of the ancients to go to the village before building the road. The rock is steep and mossy and slippery, and the courage to climb is the soul of the blue sky, which adds to the aura of the scenery of the fish and wood village.

The quiet ancient village, the dilapidated old tile houses, the earthen walls built with mud, each tile house has a courtyard dam, spacious and practical. The dam is paved with stone slabs, and it is surrounded by stones, like a square pond. It can be used to dry grain, and children can also play in the yard.

Serve bowls of steaming bean skin, eat oily, burp for days, and the day begins like this. If you walk around, you can always be attracted by the kang artichoke on the street, sprinkled with chili peppers, green onions, and sesame seeds, and the mouth is full of its spicy, numb and fragrant aftertaste.

The snacks that can be seen in the streets and alleys are fragrant, and only when you take a bite do you know that this taste is only available in Enshi; all kinds of baked cakes seem to be simple, and they are excellent in taste and appearance;

Whether it's an appetizer for a meal or a base for squeezed peppers, as long as it is served with rice, it can be eaten with its unique taste, and it is an excellent delicacy no matter how you match it.

The main ingredient of Tujia baked cake is flour, which is first made with old noodles, and then stuffed with meat, green onions, Sichuan peppercorns, etc., mixed together to make an oval cake, smeared with soy sauce, sesame seeds, etc., and baked with charcoal in a clay pot.

The baked Tujia baked cakes are golden in color, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There are two ways to make it, one is electric grilling and the other is charcoal grilling, each with a different taste and a taste that is addictive.

When the rice milk completely covers the bottom of the scoop, put shredded fresh meat, shredded potatoes, chopped green onions, chili powder, etc. to make the filling, and then pour a thin layer of rice milk on it, and then put it into the pot to start frying.

The oily stuffing depends on the individual's taste, and those who love eggs can also beat a raw egg on the filling, and it is said that the fried oil is delicious.

The outside is charred and the inside is tender, crispy and delicious, Enshi people often take this as breakfast, and even eat this at noon, they never get tired of eating. You can sit at the table and enjoy it with noodles and soy milk, and those who are in a hurry can also eat it while walking with a paper wrapper.

Especially the tofu skin, the pan is smeared with thin oil, the batter slides out of the special funnel, and the edges are slightly warped, and the bean skin out of the pan is not as smooth as the noodles, but has a rough solid taste and some grain aroma.

The main raw materials are rice and potato starch, and mung bean skin and bud bean skin need to add corresponding raw materials. The bean skin can be boiled or fried, usually accompanied by chicken, duck, fish, meat, vegetables, etc., the taste is soft and smooth, and the aftertaste is endless.

The most amazing thing is actually the artichoke, pink and cottony, small and especially suitable for eating on the kang, cook first, put thin oil on low heat, pour the sauce and close the lid for a while, the artichoke that is stuffy to be soft and flavorful, and then sprinkle with chili peppers, green onions, sesame seeds, one bite at a time, you can also add the pickled radish of Enshi people according to personal taste.

Although it can be seen everywhere, its status is unshakable. As the saying goes, the artichoke in the high mountains is the weeds in the low mountains. After the kang is cooked, it feels not oily in the mouth, and there is a kind of roasted sweetness, and there is a slight crispy texture.
