Prologue (4)-5: Eliminate the fear of the unknown
The evening before the battle.
Atrus's camp was quieter.
The soldiers, having done a short training, began to rest after a full meal - after all, at this level of technology, fighting is almost a manual work, and without sufficient rest, it is impossible to show the strength of the soldiers on the battlefield.
Battlefield Commander Atrus, patrolling the camp.
"What's the matter? Still a little nervous?" asked Atrus softly as he approached the commander of the new weapon.
The commander of the new weapon nodded.
The new weapon, while giving them some confidence, is also a little nervous before the battle.
"After all, this is the first time we've used this kind of weapon on the battlefield......" The commander of the new weapon said here, paused, and continued, "Our actual combat experience with weapons is like a blank sheet of paper...... I'm always a little nervous, right......"
"Don't worry, we still have so many people here to support you in the fight! Don't be nervous! Just try to play! Don't think about anything else. Atrus patted the commander of the new weapon on the shoulder.
The commander of the new weapon looked at the sky in the distance, the sky was now a little overcast, and under such weather, the tension before the battle was further accentuated.
......
Dawn, the weather, is still a little gloomy.
Most of the sky was shrouded in thick clouds with lead ash and blue.
The wind, blowing through the quiet camp.
The weather is starting to change a bit!
A golden ray of sunlight "tore" the heavy lead-gray clouds, and from beyond the clouds, a comfortable piece of sunlight was projected on the land.
The openings of the clouds became larger and larger, and the lead-gray clouds began to gradually break and fade......
In the morning, the sky is clear!
The weather is nice today!
Some of the soldiers of the camp, standing guard here.
"It's almost time to prepare for the operation. One of the sentries standing guard looked at the morning glow in the sky, and then said to another sentry on the side.
"Yes!" said the sentry, picking up the hanging horn and playing it rhythmically—it was the signal to get up.
......
"Ahh
"Well, we'll give each other a surprise too!" said the commander of the new weapon next to him, nodding his head.
"Alright, guys, let's go!" said Battlefield Commander Atrus to the herald as he got into the carriage.
The soldiers, who were ready to fight, began to continue to set out.
Atrus himself had never seen such a grand spectacle.
The first to set off were the well-equipped and well-aligned infantry.
These infantry phalanxes, lined up one by one, set off one after another.
Then, the energetic cavalry, lined up in a triangular formation, also began to set off one after another, lining up on the side of the infantry phalanx.
Behind the cavalry were well-trained formations of combat wagons.
Atrus looked a little further away—where, some behemoths, war elephants, had followed—and even in the middle of the group, he could feel the momentum of the war elephants coming from behind.
Atrus, they have almost done enough for this battle!
Soon, a big battle on the plains will begin.
