The imperial doctors said that to cure this epidemic, only the flesh and blood of the red fish in the northeast river of the capital can be cured by eating, and there is no such fish in the river at present.

When the prince heard this, he threw himself into the river and turned into a red fish, and dedicated himself to healing the people. The people came to cut the flesh of the red fish and heal the disease. The strange thing is that the red fish "comes back to life when it is cut", and the red fish is inexhaustible, and it lasts for 12 years until all the people in the country are cured.

Buddhist scriptures say that this Lotus Prince is the later Buddha Shakyamuni.
