Chapter 217: A shabby funeral
Seeing this touching scene, Harry couldn't help but cry.
In front of him, Sirius held the body of Regulus tightly with tears in his eyes, and he cried so sadly that he kept muttering, "Go home, Regulus, let's go home"
In Sirius's arms, Regulus was unconscious.
His eyes were foggy and cobweb-like, and he stretched out his pale, withered hands and hugged Sirius tightly. Not a normal hug, but full of malice to drag Sirius into the lake and drown.
"Be careful, Sirius"
Harry hurriedly shouted a warning, but his voice stopped abruptly.
He felt an arm wrap around him from behind, a cold, fleshless arm like death, and picked him up from the ground, slowly but without hesitation, towards the Black Lake.
Harry struggled to get out, but to no avail, the corpse was much stronger than him, and he was dragged slowly towards the lake.
The wand in his hand sent out several spells in vain, and fell silent again.
Harry was desperate, he knew that if he continued like this, he would surely drown, like Regulus, another Yin corpse guarding the fragments of Voldemort's soul
But at that moment, a flame rose in the darkness, much more vigorous than the red flames that Evan and Hermione had conjured.
A bright, golden-red ring of fire surrounded the rock, and the corpses that clung to Harry staggered and staggered.
They didn't dare to enter the lake through the flames, so they left Harry behind.
Harry fell to the ground, his foot slipping on the rock, and his arm was broken, but he struggled to get up, and he saw Dumbledore, Aven, and Hermione come out of the flames. Evan and Hermione were pale, but they looked fine, and in front of them, Dumbledore's expression was serious, and the golden light of fire danced in his pale blue eyes.
His wand was held high like a torch, and flames burst from the tip of his wand like a huge, warm lasso, enclosing the corpses.
The power of these flames was so powerful that the Yin corpses they touched turned into ashes, and the remaining Yin corpses crashed into each other, dizzily trying to escape the flames that surrounded them
"Professor, Evan, Hermione!" Harry shouted in delight.
He staggered two steps forward and immediately stopped.
He heard Sirius shouting, and he hurriedly turned around to see Sirius and Regulus wrestling at the edge of the flames, Kreacher standing aside.
Regulus struggled violently to escape back into the lake because of the firelight, but Sirius clung to him and didn't let go, his face flushed from too much force.
Harry hurried over to help, and Evan and Hermione hurried to follow.
Together, the three of them helped Sirius hold Regulus down, and Evan even conjured up a few ropes to tie him down.
But Regulus's strength was astonishingly great, completely beyond the scope of humans, and they were no match for each other combined.
Just when everyone was about to take it anymore, Dumbledore walked over.
There was no flashy magic, he just tapped Regulus on the head with the wand in his hand, and Regulus immediately quieted down and turned back into a real corpse.
In the dark cavern, Aven gasped, looking at the terrifying, eerie sights around him, and Regulus who had gradually quieted down, he knew that it was all over, and they had finally freed Regulus from his endless torment.
They fulfilled Regulus' last wish, destroyed the locket, and found his body, removing the evil dark magic from him.
At this moment, his soul was finally able to rest in peace
As the sun sets, a remote cemetery near Grimmauld Place Square.
This is the burial ground of the Black family, and at the center is a tall, imposing dark black marble monument carved with the Black family's coat of arms, next to which is the striking gilded slogan: The noble and oldest Black family is immortal.
Around the monument, there are densely packed tombstones of different ages, they have different shapes, but they have one thing in common, that is, the materials used are extremely exquisite.
To the right of the cemetery are three tall yew trees and the black outline of a chapel, and to the left of the cemetery you can see the exquisite old house at 12 Grimmauld Square.
Like 12 Grimmauld Place, everything here is so neglected that it can only be vaguely discerned in its past glory.
The cemetery was overgrown with weeds, and from time to time crows landed on the tombstones, vigilantly watching the intruders in front of them.
Most of the tall and exquisite tombstones have been torn apart by the merciless destruction of the years, and they stand there quietly, silently telling the loneliness of the Black family.
In the innermost corner of the cemetery, Dumbledore, Sirius, Lupin, Aven, Harry, Hermione, and Kreacher stood solemnly in front of a very small and ordinary tombstone that did not quite match the surrounding style, and they gathered here to make a final send-off for Regulus.
Lupin arrived after getting the news, he was waiting for everyone at the Leaky Cauldron Bar to have a perfect Christmas, but he didn't expect to wait for such news.
There was no one else but Lupin.
In fact, they had planned to invite some more people over to Regulus' funeral, but Sirius didn't know who to invite.
Regulus was a mad admirer of Voldemort during his lifetime, and he wanted to become a Death Eater, and most of his former relatives and friends were like this. Almost all of them were Slytherin students, and eventually became Death Eaters, and now they are either dead or imprisoned in Azkaban, and they are unlikely to be invited.
So, until the end, there were only a few of them.
Kreacher's severe, shriveled cries rang out intermittently, like someone playing a violin without a key, and sounded uncomfortable.
Evan had never attended a funeral before, and he didn't know what a normal funeral would look like, but Regulus's funeral was undoubtedly shabby, and everything was prepared in a hurry.
Regulus's tombstone reads briefly: Regulus Actulus Blake rests here forever, he is a good Death Eater, he defended dignity and justice with his life, he gave his life to fight against Voldemort, he is a worthy hero, he is the eternal pride of the Black family.
Evan had never imagined that the words kindness and Death Eater could be linked.
This may have been a great irony to the other Death Eaters, but to Regulus, it was the most faithful assessment.
As it was said later, Regulus defended justice with his life against Voldemort, and he was a true hero.
Next to the tombstone, Sirius looked haggard and did not shed tears, but silently looked at his brother's coffin.
After a long time, Lupin stepped forward and patted Sirius on the shoulder, and then they slowly filled the grave with earth and buried Regulus there. (To be continued.) )
