Say goodbye

A week before returning to Japan, Professor Kato specially invited Ke alone to his home as a guest, knowing that in Japan, it is usually an old friend who has been at home for many years, and it is very rare to get a separate invitation from a professor like Mr. Kato. So when Ke learned that he was about to be a guest at Mr. Kato's house, he seemed both happy and a little scared.

On the weekend, Ke came to Kato-sensei's house. Mr. Kato lives in downtown Nagoya, and it is a standard Japanese "one-family building", which is what we call a villa.

The courtyard of the villa is large and to the left of the entrance is a garage that can accommodate two cars. The main building is a modern two-story building, with a Mediterranean-like snow-white exterior wall and huge floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The vestibule of the courtyard is relatively open, a tall Ji Hu Pi Nan is planted on the left side, and a few green purple bamboos are planted near the front of the house on the right to form a small bamboo forest, the small bamboo forest is surrounded by a low guardrail, and the whole courtyard is covered with a thick layer of green lawn, which is quite elastic when stepped on.

When Ke walked into the courtyard, Mr. Kato and his wife were already waiting warmly on the steps in front of the villa.

Mr. Kato's home is simply furnished, with a modern style in the living room and dining room, and a traditional Japanese style in the bedroom and tea room, with raised floors and tatami mats. After visiting the teacher's house, Mr. Kato introduced Ke into his own tea room, which is not large and has simple furnishings, a simple solid wood tea table, and two blue and white fabric cushions. Mr. Kato entered the back seat and knelt on the cloth mat, Xiao Ke tried to kneel, but he always looked awkward, Mr. Kato smiled and said you don't have to be like me, you can just sit cross-legged, Xiao Ke had to sit cross-legged on the cloth mat. Although Ke has been in Japan for three years, he usually spends his time in classrooms, libraries, and laboratories. I rarely go to the homes of the locals, so I am still very unaccustomed to kneeling in Japan. Mr. Kato saw it and did not ask him like ordinary Japanese friends, but asked him to sit cross-legged according to the habit of Chinese.

"The Japanese tea ceremony etiquette is very complicated, the procedure is also very complicated, you are Chinese, today we will be simple between teachers and students, do not be restrained." Mr. Kato said with a smile.

"Thank you, teacher, for your attention. Ke said very humbly.

"Speaking of which, our Japanese tea ceremony still comes from your Tang Dynasty a thousand years ago, but you have abandoned it a long time ago, and we in Japan have inherited it well. Drinking a cup of tea in Japan is not easy, and the tea ceremony is very particular about the place, and it is usually done in a tea room. When receiving guests, after the guests are seated, the tea master who presides over the ceremony will light a charcoal fire, boil water, brew tea or matcha according to the prescribed actions, and then offer it to the guests in turn. Guests must respectfully accept the tea with both hands according to the regulations, thank you first, and then turn the tea bowl three times, light taste, slow drink, and return. Ordering, boiling, brewing, and offering tea are the main parts of the tea ceremony ritual and require specialized skills and training. After drinking tea, according to the habit, the guests should appreciate and praise all kinds of tea sets. Finally, the guests bowed down to the host and said goodbye, and the host warmly sent him off. Mr. Kato said slowly, and Xiao Ke listened to it and felt like he was about to fall asleep.

"Today we drink tea according to the habits of the Chinese, okay?" said, Mr. Kato slowly took out a set of simple tea sets, a teapot and two tea cups, Japanese ceramics and Chinese ceramics taste a little different, Japanese ceramics are mainly black and brown coarse porcelain, dotted with some variegated spots in the middle, and Chinese tea sets are basically represented by fine porcelain produced in Jingdezhen, the color is light and elegant, and it is painted. In order to take care of Ke's feelings, Kato-sensei gave up matcha and deliberately chose green tea.

When the teacher was making tea, Ke carefully looked around the small tea room and found that there was a niche on the side of the tea room, a few strips in front of the niche, some offerings, and a banner in the middle of the wall, with three words written in Japanese letters: Mo delusional. Xiao Ke looked at the tea room and felt that it was very novel and interesting.

After the tea was poured, Ke respectfully took the teacup from Mr. Kato's hands, a basic etiquette Ke had heard. Teacher Kato still looked at Ke with an approving gaze, and slowed down his speech: "Two years have passed, time flies so fast, to be honest, I am really reluctant to leave Japan." But there is no way, you have to go back to your motherland after all, and Professor Oshima also told me that you can't stay if you stay. Mr. Kato said as he spoke, his tone was a little choked, and he seemed to be full of a lot of helplessness and regret.

"What does Kosang want to do when he returns home?" Kato-sensei asked with concern.

"To be honest, I can't bear to give up Mr. Kato and your lab, but I have learned a lot here and will use it for the rest of my life. I would like to express my deep gratitude to you for replacing wine with tea!" They slammed their teacups.

"After I returned to China, I mainly wanted to rely on the technology I learned in your laboratory in the past two years to build a production line in China and put it into mass production. My main consideration is this: Our domestic IC industry is far behind Japan and the United States in terms of technology and production, and even far behind South Korea. Therefore, we rely on your patented technology, it is currently very competitive, we can open the domestic market through it, and then rapidly expand the scale of production to meet part of the domestic market demand, and then choose the opportunity to develop. ”

Mr. Kato was also very happy to hear this, after all, in Mr. Kato's opinion, it is indeed a sense of accomplishment for his students to continue their careers in his home country. "Your idea is very good, but the latest patent belongs to the company in the past few years, not me, and it may be difficult for you to obtain it. However, it doesn't matter, I'll give you a similar technology that is not currently patented, and if it can help you succeed, we'll talk about the appropriate return, what does Kosan think?"

Ke felt very excited after hearing this, and hurriedly thanked him and said that with the technical support of the teacher, he would have no worries in the future. The more they talked, the more speculative they became, the more they talked about the in-depth way they talked about the future development direction of IC, about the strategic adjustments currently made by the United States, and about the progress of some electronics companies in Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
