Today I went to see "Cloud Atlas" with my second sister, which was very shocking, perfect in all aspects, and a movie that can be scored with full marks. Pen ~ fun ~ pavilion www.biquge.info

Of course, this kind of movie is completely incomprehensible after watching it once, the plot is very complicated, and I didn't understand it, but the feeling is very strong, it goes straight to your heart, and the level of thought has gone beyond the scope of ordinary emotions, but is close to the change of time and space, the supreme level of human faith. Many movies are pretentious, deliberately trying to shoot profoundly, but in the end it becomes playing with fire, the awesomeness of "Cloud Atlas" is that although you can't understand where it is awesome, you will feel that it is awesome, without the slightest artificiality.

The last time I watched the movie in the cinema was "The Grandmaster", Wong Kar-wai's movie, many people think that Wong Kar-wai's shooting is art, and liking Wong Kar-wai means that he has a high level, and he immediately became a petty bourgeois literary and artistic youth, out of low-level fun. I think "The Grandmaster" is actually not as good as everyone says, it is just a movie with characteristics, characteristics are definitely not advantages, many people say that the lines in it are good, I just think the lines in it are too forced, deliberately written as a literary fan, and want to raise the level.

The lines of "The Grandmaster" are script-style lines, some lines are indeed classic, but this classic is individual, just looking at this line, you may feel that it is very literary, very classic, very fancy, and seems to be quite profound, but after being placed in the movie, it seems that it is not so consistent with the theme, it seems that the director loves certain lines very much, so that he does not fit the movie, and he is forced into it, trying to use these classic lines to pull the movie to the level of classics.

Perhaps this is related to the scripts of two films, "The Grandmaster" is a specially written screenplay, and "Cloud Atlas" is adapted from a novel. Novels and scripts are completely different genres, novels are a world, full and complete, but the script is a story composed of fragments, and it pays attention to refinement, so it cannot form a full world, and the lines of the two are therefore different. The lines of the novel will be more natural, it may not feel much when taken out alone, no rhyme, no profundity, no literary art, no fancy, no writing skills, but in that complete novel world, this line is meaningful, integrated with the novel, and the line has the finishing touch.

For example, the recorder at the end of "Cloud Atlas" asks Xingmei one last question: "Have you thought about it? What if you say this and no one else believes it?"

Xingmei asked rhetorically: "Don't you just believe it?"

Like this line, there is actually no literary skill when taken out alone, but when placed in that movie, it has its own meaning, which seems natural and contains the meaning of the movie.

But scripted lines are different, writing a script specifically for a movie, there is no complete world to give meaning to the lines, so the lines have to literally have meaning in themselves, which will take some literary skills in it. Many lines in "The Grandmaster" are like this, and the meaning of the lines does not come entirely from the movie, but from the lines themselves, which is not the finishing touch, but a pair of eyes, each shining. I even saw that some fans posted forty or fifty classic lines in the Douban movie, and many fans also talked about it and reprinted it on their blogs, with a great posture of tasting it sentence by sentence.

In a two-hour movie, if there are as many as forty or fifty classic lines, is this a movie or a collection of mottos?

The really good lines are not that you forget the movie, but you can still remember dozens of classic lines, but as long as you remember a few classic lines, it is like watching the movie again.

Of course, the above is purely a personal opinion, and this is the level I can reach, maybe at a higher level, there will be a different view.
