Volume 2 Plane Battle, Chapter 272: The Mystery of Transcendence (II)

Xie Bi'an nodded and said: Shangxian's memory is really good! After a pause, he continued: And the next one thinks that after transcendence, he will be reborn in the Pure Land, whether it is Elysium, Tushi Heavenly Palace, or if it is Tibetan Buddhism, he may wish to be reborn in the copper-colored auspicious mountain of Guru Padmasambhava.

Transcendence according to Buddhism does not refer to reincarnation as a human being, nor is it a pure land of rebirth. The object of transcendence is generally aimed at the beings of the evil realm, especially the two evil realms, but it is relatively rare to hear about the transcendent small animals, which are in the classics, but they are relatively rare!

Generally for both kinds of beings. The reason for the excesses is that they feel a lot of pain in the state, so people want to overdo them. It is important to note here that the word transcendence does not refer to the stage of the "bardo body".

People think that after death, people become "it" (ghost), and then people have to help him to transcend it, and then they will be reincarnated.

But Buddhism says that when a person goes there, he goes into the preparatory stage and then he is reincarnated, and if he is reborn into the two evil realms, then he needs to transcend him, because he is in a state of intense suffering, and I hope to help him get out of that state.

So how do we transcend? The way to do this is to pass away in that evil path and then reincarnate. It is hoped that they will be reincarnated in good paths, such as humans, heavens, or asuras. So the basic concept of transcendence is to terminate a period of life, to leave the state of the two lower realms, and then to let them pass away to the good realms.

People often think that transcendence is done after death, but they forget that the moment before death is the most important. Because where a person will be reincarnated is basically decided at the last moment of death. In other words, whether you will be reborn in the good or evil path in the next life depends on the thought you have before you die.

Therefore, if you wish to be reborn on the good path, there are two opportunities: the first is to generate a good thought when you are about to go, and this good thought will pull out the good habits, seeds, and karma, and bear a fruit, and then return to the good path in the next life.

The other is the remedy, if you have already been reborn in the evil path, then let that period of life end in the evil path and then be reborn in the good path. But do all ghosts and gods need to be exceeded? Not necessarily!

Specifically, the "ghosts" in Buddhism refer to those ghost kings in the path of hungry ghosts, which we call "ghosts and gods". The idea that follows here is that if they are all in pain, they may want to be exceeded.

But if it's not painful, they don't want to be exceeded. If they don't want to be exceeded, there is no need for excess, so the state of mind of the ghosts and gods themselves will determine whether the exceedance is effective or not, which is also a very important point!

When it comes to transcending the undead, we must first explain the nature of the undead. The main body of life after death is called the "undead". The general folk concept is that people are ghosts after death, and they will always be ghosts, but Buddhism has never agreed with this statement, otherwise, there would be no excess!

Buddhism looks at the sentient beings in the mortal world, which are divided into six categories: heaven, man, god, ghost, life (cows, horses, and even mosquitoes and ants), hell, etc., among these six categories, life and death, and death and life, which is called the six realms of reincarnation, so after death, only one in six people may become ghosts.

Buddhism enables people to transcend and liberate themselves from the birth and death of these six realms of rebirth, which is called transcendence. However, after death, ordinary people cannot be reborn immediately, except for those who have committed the most heinous crimes, who immediately go to hell, and those who have done a great deal of good deeds, who are immediately reborn in the heavenly realm.

The unreincarnated soul is not necessarily a ghost, which is called "middle body" or "bardo body" in Buddhism, that is, a kind of body between death and rebirth, this bardo body is often mistakenly called a ghost by ordinary people!

But in fact, it is a spirit that exists with a small amount of gas, and it is not a ghost.

The time of the bardo body is usually forty-nine days, and in this stage, waiting for the ripening of the conditions for rebirth. Therefore, in the seven periods after death, relatives and friends do Buddhist things for him, which has a great effect.

If the deceased's most beloved possessions during his lifetime are offered to Buddhism to relieve the poor and sick, and it is said that this is a merit made for the transcendental rebirth of such and such a deceased, the deceased can be reborn in a better place because of this.

Therefore, Buddhism advocates transcending the dead, preferably in the seventh and seventh periods. If he does Buddha work again after the seven periods, of course, it will still be useful, but it will only increase his blessings, but it will not change the category of his birth. If a person does a lot of evil in his life, he is destined to be a cow or a pig in the next life!

When he dies in the seventh or seventh period, if a relative or friend does a great deal of Buddhist deeds for him, and causes him to hear the monks chanting sutras in the bardo body, so that he knows some Buddhist teachings, repents at the moment, and is determined to be good, he may be reborn as a human being without being a cow or a pig!

If he is already born in a herd of pigs and then does Buddhist work for him, it will only improve the living environment of the cow or pig, so that he will have abundant food, no work, and even be free from the pain of a knife and be released.

If he is already born in the world, he will be in good health, loved by his relatives and friends, and have a smooth career, and if he is born in the Western Elysium, he will also be able to raise the level of his lotus rank and become a Buddha as soon as possible!

After a pause, Xie Bi'an continued: Then let's go back and talk about the transcendent Dharma of Taoism!

The seventh month of the lunar calendar is the busiest time of the year for mages. July is a holiday in the underworld, perhaps because of the mercy of the heavens, setting aside three periods of the year as holidays for the ghosts of the underworld to receive offerings from the yang.

And before the arrival of the Midyear Festival in July, that is, before the evening of July 14, the deceased ancestors or unjust creditors can be said to get twice the result with half the effort!

Therefore, Taoist temples or ashrams everywhere will hold transcendent pujas. And transcendence has also become the best reward for the souls of the dead, so that their energy can be increased, so that they can find a better place to reincarnate.

The Midyear Festival in July is the time when the officials of the three Taoist emperors descend to Pudu sentient beings, it is the time when God is merciful and amnesty for the world, and it is also the time when Taiyi saves suffering and Tianzun travels to the Ten Directions to save sentient beings from the sea of suffering.

Therefore, the yin qi in July is heavier, and the streets and alleys are full of ownerless and lonely spirits, or wandering at the temple gate, or following pilgrims into the temple, hoping to be overtaken at the transcendent puja.

Sometimes, when the mage holds a hand-shaken spirit banner and recites a spell, these lonely ghosts will take the opportunity to go and be overtaken together. Therefore, in the Taoist view, transcendence is a thing of immeasurable merit!

There are also some ghosts who are more resentful, and their aura is filthy and difficult to blend into the transcendent place. In particular, those who die unexpectedly in a certain place are usually unable to leave the place of death, and have become "three regardless", that is, heaven and earth do not care, and people cannot control it.

Therefore, if the ghost dies unexpectedly, there is usually no way to go to heaven and no way to enter the earth, so he can only wander in the place of distress and wait to be rescued.

Many ghosts may have waited for years without waiting for an opportunity, so they become increasingly resentful and begin to set up various obstacles or tricks to influence those who have low luck and are approaching the limit, so that they will have accidents, and then these ghosts will find the right time to go to the underworld.

That's why where accidents have happened, there will be accidents one after another!

It is said that there is a reservoir with strange rocks on the shore, and you can see that it is a dangerous place at a glance. Dozens of individuals, mostly children and adults, drown here every year.

Sometimes, even in inshore waters, they drown for no apparent reason. In order to deal with the "water ghosts" and save sentient beings, the locals invited a Maoshan Taoist priest to practice on the shore, and wrote the symbol on the boulder to town it. Sure enough, fewer and fewer people drowned later.

In fact, there will be similar cases everywhere! Especially in July, the probability of accidents is always much higher than usual. And the fundamental solution to the problem is excess!

Under normal circumstances, it is most direct to set up an altar at the scene of the accident, and it can also be remotely exceeded, that is, to summon the unjust souls by means of summoning spirits, and ask the upper realm to send troops to help deal with it through rituals such as calligraphy, recitals, and chanting, or to negotiate with the underworld to implore the acceptance of the ghosts that have been exceeded.

This is a relatively complex set of procedures, which the average person cannot understand!

The so-called transcendence is generally accomplished with the help of the gods, and the transcendent mage is only a medium. Every time he overdues to invite God, Taiyi Salvation Tianzun will come at the invitation and pick up the ghosts that have been exceeded, like a gust of wind.

Some ghosts come and beg for excess, some are treacherous and say pretty things, some ask for this and that, and all sorts of things. Therefore, the problem of true transcendence cannot be solved by chanting sutras alone.

When overrun, the ghost will usually be attached to a conjuring banner or in a specially designated area. Whenever you encounter that kind of stubborn ghost, you can only sacrifice the magic weapon to collect it.

The so-called compassion is only for those ghosts who still have good thoughts, and for those who do not listen to persuasion, perhaps it is the right way to accept them directly. It may be extremely dangerous to be a Taoist mage, otherwise, before you can do the Tao for the heavens, you are very likely to be martyred.....

Therefore, I also have to advise those catechumen who are bent on writing talismans and reciting mantras, slaying demons and eliminating demons, this is a very dangerous identity, unless you are originally assigned by the heavens to purify sentient beings in the lower realm, otherwise, if you encounter some ruthless ghosts, you may be in trouble.

A true Dharma Master is a Taoist priest who has practiced for many lifetimes, and he is sent down by God to purify sentient beings, with a corresponding mission. People from the "upper realm" tend to possess a variety of unique abilities, some of which have been manifested since childhood!

For example, he inexplicably knows how to cure diseases and exorcise evil spirits. Others slowly manifest themselves as they grow up, and these people usually bring their own magic weapons. This kind of magic weapon is not a tangible item, but can be used when doing things, transcending ghosts, and fighting demons.

Some mages will receive blessings or magic weapons from the celestial deity after practicing the dharma. This kind of person assigned by the heavens to the lower realm will be a little bumpy, and they may encounter many difficulties in the process of practicing the Dharma, but their path will be improved after each practice, and their merits will continue to increase, and they will not be easily martyred.

A true mage must have a righteous and pure heart, otherwise, if the heart is not right, no matter how much he recites the mantra or burns expensive incense, the ancestor will not be on the altar. From this point of view, cultivating the Tao is the foundation of practicing the Dharma, and practicing the Dharma without cultivating the Tao may lead to fire!

Yang Zhuochao asked: Then Lord Impermanence, which concept do you tend to as a Yin of the Netherworld?

Xie Bi'an said: Actually, I personally think that I am more inclined to the Taoist concept of transcendence! Because it is undeniable that some evil ghosts are always stubborn. Either he did a lot of evil in life, and after he died, he wanted to continue those evil deeds in life!
