Volume 2 Plane Battle, Chapter 271: The Mystery of Transcendence (I)

Xie Bi'an continued to explain: In Taoism, transcendence is to connect with the ancestor or Taoist immortals through the inner practice of the mage himself, and save the souls of the dead who are still sinking in the underworld or still stranded in the world!

Then, through the guidance of the gods, I hope that the souls of the dead will ascend to the Oriental Qinghua Elysium as soon as possible. The main god of Taoism is generally worshiped as "Taiyi Salvation Tianzun".

The form of transcendence can be divided into three categories: the first type is "the transcendence of the ten directions", what is the transcendence of the ten directions? The transcendence of the ten directions is the setting up of an altar to summon all kinds of lonely souls and wild ghosts in the vicinity for a unified transcendence, and generally large-scale pujas will have this kind of transcendence.

The main function is to transcend the ten types of solitary souls, and the merits are immeasurable, so that the mage will not be disturbed by them when holding the puja. Zhengyi priests will generally use Lingbaoji to refine the sect, and Quanzhen Taoist priests will generally use the Qingxuanji to refine the flame mouth iron pot to administer food.

The second type is the "transcendence of the ancestors", also known as the excessibility of the dead, generally the ancestors still stay in the underworld after their deaths, and the descendants hope that the ancestors can get out of hell and ascend to the realm of bliss as soon as possible, so they will ask the mage to exceed. For this kind of revenant, the superdegree is generally used.

The third category is unjust souls, that is, some ghosts who died in vain, aborted infant spirits, and unjust creditors in previous lives. This kind of deceased soul is more difficult to surpass, because there are often various reasons that cause them to remain in the human world, so there are many kinds of rituals and rituals to do.

So what is the function of transcendence?, the first type of transcendence is generally the good thoughts of the mage, the transcendence of the lonely souls of the ten directions, and the merit is immeasurable. The second type of transcendence is mainly to hope that the ancestors will leave the sea of hell and suffering as soon as possible, and as future generations, they also hope that the ancestors will ascend to bliss as soon as possible, and of course, it will also have an impact on the future fortunes of the future generations.

The third category, being entangled by vain ghosts, abortion infants, and unjust creditors is generally not very lucky, so they hope to change their fortunes through excess.

The steps of transcendence are divided into: 1. Fasting, and the general practice is to fast and bathe in advance, to calm the mind and body, and only when doing this Dharma can you reach the heavens.

Second, set up the altar, generally before the altar will be prepared to summon the spirit flag and other flags, but also need to set up the yin and yang altar, the yin altar also has to put the deceased tablet, flowers and fruits, three tea and four wine, three meat and four vegetables, fragrant treasure candles, rice steamed buns, of course, there are also some paper money to be burned.

3. The practice of ascending the altar, after ascending the altar, the master will generally do the ritual of purifying the altar first, and then start the ritual of transcendence.

Fourth, chanting, the middle of the ritual will recite many scriptures, Taoism is more common is "Taishang Cave Xuanling Treasure Rescue Bitterness and Pull Out Sin Sutra", "Yuan Shi Tianzun Said Fengdu Extinguishing Sin Sutra", "Taishang Sansheng Grievance Relief Sutra", etc., if it is a woman, you also need to add "Taiyi Rescue Suffering Tianzun said to dial the degree of Xudu Blood Lake Sutra".

Fifth, after the master has done the Dharma, he also needs to sprinkle tea, wine and rice around for the deceased to eat, and at the same time, he also needs to burn paper money, and some people will also burn all kinds of paper paste statues.

Transcending the soul and allowing it to be reborn is a matter of immeasurable merit for the mage or the lord. Correct understanding of transcendence allows people to choose a more correct way to do good.

Yang Zhuochao asked: Lord Impermanence, what is the relationship between the "Taiyi Saving Suffering Tianzun" you mentioned and the "Taiyi Zhenren", are they the same person?

Xie Bi'an said: They are not alone, "Taiyi Zhenren" is one of the disciples of the "Teaching" Yuan Shi Tianzun, and the Kunlun Twelve Golden Immortals are ranked fifth. The leader of the "Qingwei Sect", the Tao is profound, the immortal law is strong, and he practices in the Jinguang Cave of Qianyuan Mountain.

The Qingwei sect is also known as the "Qingwei sect", which is one of the three branches of the Fu Zheng sect. The sect claims to be from Qingwei Tianyu Qing Yuan Shi Tianzun, so it is named after Qingwei.

It is also said that its religion evolved into the four factions of Zhenyuan, Taihua, Guan Ling, and Zhengyi after the transmission of the law in the beginning of the Yuan, and the ten transmissions were made by the four factions of Zushu Yuanjunhui, and the Qingwei sect was established.

And Taiyi Salvation Tianzun is the Taoist god of the underworld who is called the "Emperor Qinghua of the East Pole"! Why do you say that? Listen to me slowly:

This Taiyi Salvation Tianzun can also be called: Seeking Sound to Save Suffering Tianzun, Qingxuan Jiuyang God. Taiyi Rescue Tianzun and the Antarctic Immortal Emperor are both the left and right attendants of the Jade Emperor.

Taiyi saves the suffering Tianzun and lives in the Miaoyan Palace of the "Qinghua Changle World", which can extradite the suffering souls to die. For those who accumulate virtue and do good, know the Tao and know the mysteries and have complete merits, Taiyi saves the suffering Tianzun "by the immortal control of the nine lions, scattering the auspicious light of a hundred treasures", and leads them to ascend to the sky and become immortals.

Originally, in various religions, it was believed that "karma" was the most difficult to eliminate and block, and in Buddhism, there was a saying that the gods could not defeat karma.

However, Taiyi Salvation Tianzun can turn the blood lake, a symbol of karma and hell karma, into a lotus pond, and the nine lions under the seat can open the door of the nine hells, that is, the deepest part of hell.

Taiyi Salvation Tianzun has a lofty position in the Taoist Gate, because of his great sage and great compassion, great compassion and great wishes, seeking the voice to go to the sense, saving the suffering and saving the suffering, so he has a deep faith foundation in the minds of believers.

The image of Taiyi Rescue Tianzun is generally wearing a crown on his head, wearing a Xia robe, a wonderful true body, a purple gold Ruixiang, sitting on the nine-colored lotus throne, and a nine-headed green lion spitting flames under him, hugging the throne. Surrounded by nine-colored divine light, radiating thousands of rays of light.

Many immortals, wrestlers, King Kong, god kings, golden boys, and jade maidens were beside him. There are also holding water bowls, poplar branches, feet on lotus flowers, and round light shining and so on.

In Heavenly Court, his forces are concentrated in the East Heavenly Gate, and there are many generals under his command, the most powerful of which is the Nine Lions. In addition to holding a certain amount of military power, Taiyi Salvation Tianzun also has some administrative power.

These administrative powers are mainly concentrated in the area of personnel. Because he is a "Great Emperor" level figure in the Heavenly Court, he is specially responsible for the investigation of immortals and the special trial of ghosts.

After Taiyi's investigation by Tianzun, a certain immortal was derelict in his duties, and the nine-headed lion would go over and arrest him, and then put him in hell pending trial. For such a god, the ten generations of Hades are not qualified, and only Taiyi Salvation Tianzun and the nine-headed lion can be reviewed.

If there is a person who has done a lot of good deeds in his life and can go to heaven after death, the nine lions will go to hell and take him to heaven.

The nine-headed lion does not need to greet the ten generations of Hades when they come to hell, and when he roars, the gates of hell will be opened. Therefore, Taiyi Salvation Tianzun has the right to appoint and dismiss the personnel of the Three Realms Immortals and the judgment power of important immortals.

His power can manage the East Heavenly Gate near and the Netherworld, the lowest level of hell, and he is a great god who has the power to penetrate the Three Realms.

In the heavenly court, there are six emperors headed by the Jade Emperor, and the Qinghua Emperor is one of them. In other words, in the Taoist system, Taiyi Salvation Tianzun is a member of the core leadership of Heavenly Court. Compared with him, Taiyi Zhenren is a small character.

Yang Zhuochao said: I understand, the boss of the extraterritorial heavenly court is Haotian God, but he doesn't take care of things very much! There are six emperors under him who are responsible for handling ordinary affairs, and they are respected by the Jade Emperor! And the Emperor Qinghua of the East Pole (Taiyi Saving Suffering Tianzun) is also one of them.

We now move on to the meaning of Buddhist transcendence, which originally meant "transcendence." It has the meaning of "getting rid of suffering, completing merit, and reaching the other side". Buddhism or Taoism refers to chanting sutras, etc., to free ghosts from suffering.

Ordinary people regard the word transcendence only as the theory of transcendent undead, this kind of statement is not very correct, the actual meaning of transcendence is to transcend life and death, to spend the other side of nirvana together, is the name of transcendence! The object of transcendence has three positions:

1. In this life, those who can make delusional and evil views return to correct views, and from ideological correction, they can break through their confusion and enlightenment, which is the transcendence of the name and the transcendence of the mind.

2. In this life, one can cultivate according to the correct view, realize enlightenment because of cultivation, and attain nirvana, so that he can be liberated from birth and death, and stay away from the six realms of reincarnation.

3. After death, the family members invite the monk to give teachings, recite Buddha, chant sutras, do Buddhist deeds, etc., with a pious heart, so that the deceased can be reborn in the Pure Land, which is a great aftermath of transcendence.

Xie Bi'an went on to say: Although the Buddha has incredible and vast supernatural powers, but the creation of karma by sentient beings is also incredible, as the so-called: supernatural powers cannot defeat karma, karma can hinder the holy path, karma is like a hero, with a thousand strange forms, difficult to adjust and difficult to subdue.

According to the Buddha's saying, it is indeed not easy to achieve self-inflicted retribution in order to increase or even reduce its karma!

Then the deceased must also have the mind of enlightenment, be willing to repent and reveal his sins, and have the will to cut off evil and turn to good, and have the sorrow of the prodigal son.

If the transcendent person has sufficient and perfect virtues, and at the same time is very sad to exceed, but the deceased refuses to repent and reveal his sinful karma, and he also betrays the consciousness of the dust, and has no intention of turning back, if he is so excessive, I am afraid that it will be very difficult, because the transcendence must have the conditions for transcendence, and the causes and conditions are sufficient, so that the fact of transcendence can be constituted.

The basic steps of transcending the Buddha are to exalt the dead and recommend the dead to ascend to heaven, to receive the happiness of heaven, and to be free from the suffering of hell. To do Buddhist deeds for the deceased, it is best to do it within 7749 days after the death of the deceased.

Normally, after death, if a person has major negative karma, he will directly fall into three muds; If there is a lot of good karma, then you will be born immediately. If you cultivate pure karma, you will be reborn in the Pure Land. Otherwise, within 49 days, wait for the karma to ripen and be reborn with the karma and karma.

To do Buddhist things, you must have the conditions of piety, respect, solemnity, and solemnity, and it is best for monks to recite and worship Buddhist scriptures, confessions, and holy names. The mandala should not be noisy, chaotic, or noisy.

The transcendent process is: Guanyin incense meeting, Buddha's birthday, ancestor worship, consecration, sacrifice, prayer for rain and sunshine, consecration, special Buddhist affairs, Buddha, flame mouth, water and land puja, fasting, Buddha seven, worship and confession, water confession, great compassion confession, Jizo confession, Lianghuang confession, medicine master confession, pure land confession, and so on.

The contents of the transcendental sadhana include the Diamond Sutra, the Heart Sutra, the Buddha Says the Amitabha Sutra, the Buddha's name, the Great Compassion Mantra, the Rebirth Mantra and many related secret mantras, among others.

In this set of exercises, sutras, mantras, and Buddha names cooperate with each other, and are arranged in an ingenious and orderly manner, which can benefit, benefit, and get rid of sentient beings with different roots. According to the website, you can transcend the deceased's renunciation from the evil path by working your own heart, until you are reborn in the good way, and finally help them to be reborn in the West.

Buddhism believes in the role of transcendence, but there is a limit to the function of transcendence, which is only a secondary force, not a primary force. So the main time for cultivating goodness is during each person's lifetime!

If, after death, the living person surpasses the dead, even if the merit of cultivating goodness is dedicated to the deceased, the Jizo Sutra says that the dead person will only receive one-seventh of the benefits, and the remaining six percent will be obtained by the living.

At the same time, the orthodox Buddhism is also quite different from the belief in folk customs. The so-called transcendence is the meaning of transcending the paradise and getting rid of suffering!

It is the power of the good karma that the family members and friends have cultivated for them, and it is not that the chanting of the sutras itself has a transcendent function, but that it is the induction that arises through the good karma of the transcendent and the practice of the reciter.

Therefore, the main body of the transcendent work of Orthodox Buddhism is not the monks and nuns, but the families of the deceased. If the family of the deceased, when the deceased is dying, can offer the deceased's beloved things to the Three Jewels, give alms to the poor, and make the deceased understand that he has made such a meritorious service on his behalf, it will be of great help to the deceased after his death.

That's because of the good karma of a thought and the comfort of his mood at the time of death, so his karma will also be good. If, after the death of the deceased, the family members of the children and daughters give alms and do great good deeds with sincere and reverent hearts, they can also sense the transcendence of the deceased with their diligent filial piety, but this is not as great as what the deceased did before he died.

Only his filial piety and sincerity, such as the great wish of Jizo to save his mother, and willing to save all sentient beings in the sea of suffering in order to save his mother, with this great wish, he can still feel the deceased, reduce or even destroy the sinful karma of the deceased.

This is not an unreasonable lie, but because of the great filial piety and the great wish, the mental and wishing power of the transcendent person is transformed into the karma of the transcendent, and even connected with each other, so that it can be transcended.

Therefore, in Orthodox Buddhism, if the family of the deceased wants to recommend the deceased, they are making offerings to the Three Jewels and giving alms to the poor, and monks and nuns are not necessarily required to chant sutras. Monks and nuns receive alms and nuns only to wish for the donors!

Because the chanting of sutras by monks and nuns is a daily practice, chanting is a kind of practice, and it is also to understand the method of practice, and the purpose is not to surpass the dead. The merit of the benefactor offering to the monks is due to the achievement of the spiritual life of the monks and nuns, not due to the chanting of the sutras at a discounted price.

Although Buddhism has instructions to chant sutras to overtake the dead, it is hoped that each person will recite the sutra himself, and if he does not know how to recite the sutra himself or thinks that he has recited too little, he will ask a monk to recite it on his behalf.

In fact, monks and nuns are designed for the Dharma to live and incarnate in the world, not for transcending the dead. The merit of chanting sutras comes from believing in the Dharma and practicing the Dharma, so it is not limited to monks and nuns, and it does not have to be recited after death.

Besides, the time limit for excesses should preferably be before 7749 days after death. Because Buddhism believes that as far as ordinary people are concerned, except for those who have great good karma, they will be reborn immediately after death, those who have deep karma will be reborn and meditate on the heavens immediately after death, and those who have particularly heavy karma will immediately fall into hell after death!

As for ordinary people, there is a buffer period of 49 days after death, waiting for the karmic conditions to ripen before deciding where to go to reincarnation.

During this period, if there are family members of both sexes who dedicate themselves to transcendence by making offerings to the Three Jewels and giving to the monks, the deceased will be helped by transcendental rebirth due to the induction of good karma and merits, which will lead to the ripening of the causes of being born on the good path such as the heavens on earth.

After forty-nine days, the deceased has already been reborn with his own karma, and then making additional merit will only increase his blessings or reduce his suffering, but it will not change the place where he has already been reborn!

However, there are exceptions, if they die in vain or die miserably, due to incomprehensible grievances, even if they have been reborn into ghosts, they will still cause trouble in the world, which is the commonly rumored "haunting". In such a situation, it is necessary to chant excessively. Buddha Li recommends the good path of rebirth!

Buddhism usually calls ghost beings "hungry beings" or "hungry ghosts", so they are often blessed with the mantra of Tantra, and the flame mouth and Mengshan of food and food are often blessed, which has a particularly significant effect on the peace of ghosts.

Of course, the above is from the standpoint of Buddhism itself! In fact, the people who have always invited monks and nuns to do Buddhist things are not necessarily Buddhists, or even out-and-out Confucians!

Buddhism itself actually doesn't attach much importance to the transcendent part, and if the disciples understand the profound truth and also the worldly truth, they will understand this direction very well!

Generally speaking, when folk beliefs look at transcendence, there is an idea that people become "it" (ghosts) after they pass away, and therefore liberation can only be achieved through transcendence!

Buddhism's concept of transcendence is different, because Buddhism does not believe that a person becomes "it" when he dies, nor does it believe that "it" must be fulfilled in order to be reincarnated.

Moreover, the Buddhist view of reincarnation is not intuitive. The so-called six realms of reincarnation, the reincarnation of people after death, these are not unique to Buddhism!

But in fact, most people are still mainly influenced by Buddhism! It's just that Buddhism's way of looking at reincarnation after death is actually different from what we think.

Most people intuitively think that after a person dies, he becomes "it", then becomes a person, and then becomes "it"!

After death, a person enters the bardo body, which is sometimes referred to as "being" in Buddhism. The bardo body and the middle body are similar to a preparatory stage, that is, the stage of preparing for reincarnation. Many people think of this preparatory stage as a ghost, but that's not how Buddhism sees it!

Buddhism believes that the bardo body is very different from "it" in many ways. Specifically, Buddhism considers a being to have many needs to be satisfied, and the nature of the bardo body does not have such a strong need.

What will become after reincarnation? It could be heaven, man, asura, or the Three Evil Realms. These six possibilities are a matter of percentages, such as being able to reincarnate as a human being because of the good karma created in this lifetime, or because of the state of consciousness before death. Then we come back to the question of "excess".

It comes from folk belief that people can be reincarnated after passing away, and sometimes it becomes that if we don't help "it" to transcend, "it" will stay in that state and cannot be reincarnated.....

Yang Zhuochao said: I know that Buddhism focuses on the six realms of reincarnation, while Taoism talks about the five realms of reincarnation. The difference between them is actually the "Asura Path"!
