0225 Transplanting

Planting a tree is much easier than growing vegetables.

After all, most trees only need to be sown and cut or pruned once in a while, so you don't have to worry too much about it.

The most troublesome thing is those bamboos, these things are still the only ones in the space that have not blossomed and fruited after watering, which also makes Xu Yi a little troublesome, either cut down all these bamboos and buy them again, or dig bamboo whips and transplant them, which will always be a big project second only to growing vegetables.

Those woody spices, Xu Yi didn't plan to move them for the time being.

After all, if it is a tree that can bloom, it will bloom immediately after watering, or one or two trees will not have much effect, but if there are more, it is likely to make these bees no longer pollinate the vegetables they grow, which must be a thing that outweighs the loss.

On the contrary, if they are allowed to grow slowly, even those pine trees that can grow to a height of thirty or forty meters will not have any effect on these spices in the short term.

By the time the trees had an effect on them, they should have transplanted or replanted them.

The same is true for coffee and cocoa, the coffee trees have already borne fruit, and it is not a problem to replant them, and although cocoa has no fruit, the survival rate of using cuttings can still reach 70 or 80 percent, which is quite high, so this breeding technology is now widely used in various cocoa-producing countries.

There is space water in this space, the first weapon, presumably this cuttings planting is not a problem, and the survival rate should be higher.

However, if you pollinate them yourself. If these trees do not bear fruit, it will be meaningless whether the cuttings can survive or not.

The flowers of the cacao tree are too small. Not to mention the lack of ornamental value, the main thing is that this thing has always exuded a bad smell. It's not a proper ornamental tree.

The cocoa is harvested using long-handled scissors to cut it off the tree, and it is impossible to climb the tree at all, which is enough to imagine what the wood texture of the cocoa tree will be.

If this does not bear fruit, the tree has no merit at all, and if it is left behind, it will only occupy a place for nothing, and even the smell of the flower is simply a kind of pollution of the air in the space.

The rest, of course, are those cherry and pine trees.

As the first plant in the space, a few cherries are far more commemorative than their edible value.

Let's think about it from the perspective of practicality. Although I haven't finished making my own wine, I don't know what the quality and flavor of this wine is, at least this thing is not exactly a dispensable fruit tree for me.

Moreover, after all, this cherry can be used as an emergency food source for bees, and naturally its value is indispensable.

It's no exaggeration to say that if it weren't for these cherries, or if the bees would have been lost, it would not have been known if they would have been lost.

Now that the space is so large, it is naturally not worse than the little space they occupy.

So Xu Yi decided to let them grow there, and then leave more space for them to grow around.

The pine trees and cork oaks are also in the area where they are going to be planted, and there is no need to transplant or cut them down.

It's just that when I planted it myself. I didn't estimate the growth of these trees, they were planted too densely, or I had to thin them again when I was done.

After all this is thought out. Xu Yi turned his head to look at the tea trees that were growing alone outside those tree pits.

After the tea seedlings were planted, Xu Yi didn't care about it anymore.

But fortunately, these tea seedlings all survived normally, and they have obviously grown a lot taller. Even a few large-leaved varieties of tea trees are almost one meter tall.

Xu Yi looked at it. With a shovel, he began to dig up the tea trees and replanted them on the edge of the light curtain.

Xu Yi was as careful as possible when transplanting. The roots of each tree bring a large piece of soil.

Especially those Longjing teas, because they are all seedlings, unlike other tea trees that still have taproots, Xu Yi digs as deep as possible to avoid digging up the taproots and affecting their future growth.

In order to prevent the soil on the roots from falling apart, Xu Yi also took the pocket made of the bag to pick up the roots of the tree and the soil below, and moved it carefully.

These tea plants have only been transplanted for a few months, and repeated transplanting will naturally affect their growth. Luckily, the trees are still small, so it doesn't take much effort to dig up some more soil to move them.

As long as you can survive the planting, it is still very necessary to pinch some shoots from the top to cut them and re-cultivate some saplings.

After all, I started from scratch, and if I want to practice roasting tea, I naturally need a lot of materials.

Xu Yi removed these tea trees not because of the impact they would have on the surrounding vegetables.

In a normally managed tea plantation, all tea trees will be controlled into relatively small plants due to the continuous picking and trimming of tea buds, which will not have much impact on the growth of surrounding vegetables.

Xu Yi removed them for other reasons.

Whether the tea is in the growing period or in the process of picking and processing, or even after processing, it is very easy to absorb the odor in the surrounding air.

For example, jasmine tea is to add the jasmine flowers that have just opened to the tea blank according to a certain proportion, and the fragrance emitted by the jasmine will be absorbed by the tea leaves, and then the tea leaves will become jasmine tea with a good smell and tasty, with a jasmine aroma.

Even some tea farmers in Fujian Province will plant magnolia trees in the tea garden, so that the spring tea picking season is also the season when magnolia blooms, so that the tea leaves will still have a faint magnolia fragrance even if they are not made of magnolia.

I am going to grow vegetables next to this tea tree, especially those spices, which must also make this tea have some unpleasant taste when brewing.

Many people will slander that foreigners don't know how to drink tea, and they add everything to tea.

In fact, the initiators of adding additional materials to this tea are actually our ancestors.

Before the Song Dynasty, because the tea-making process was far from perfect, the tea tasted bland, and they would also add salt or things such as shallots, ginger, orange peel or suitable cloves and mint to the tea.

At that time, the method of making tea was to pick young tea, steam it in a pot, and then put it in a mold and press it to make tea cakes. The tea cake is easy to carry, transport and store, and then bake the tea cake when it is time to drink, let it soften and then crush the tea cake.

Because such tea leaves have not been rolled, the cells of the tea leaves are kept intact, and the components inside are not easy to precipitate, so only through guò boiling can you get a relatively light tea, and it is precisely because it needs to be boiled, so the tea was widely called tea soup in those years, and this name has been retained to this day.

After the Song Dynasty, tea farmers and tea merchants discovered the easy flavor absorption of tea, and successively invented a series of flower teas such as jasmine tea, which also made the practice of adding materials to tea soup gradually reduced.

After the Ming Dynasty, in addition to the need to transport to remote areas, in order to avoid accidents such as deterioration and breakage of tea during transportation, there are basically few lumpy tea leaves popular in the Central Plains, and they are replaced by a variety of loose tea made of fine processing and full rolling.

Since then, basically except for some remote, nomadic areas that do not produce tea, there is still the custom of drinking milk tea or butter tea, or the customs and traditions of some ethnic minorities have added sugar to tea, and in most areas tea has completely become a pure drink without adding any auxiliary materials.

On the contrary, after the spices of the South Seas and Chinese tea were shipped to Europe, many people followed the custom of the British Empire's colonies of the Three Kingdoms to add spices such as cinnamon to the tea, and this custom has been maintained in many places to this day.

If you plant your own tea leaves here, it is difficult to guarantee that the tea leaves will not carry the smell of various spices.

This kind of tea, or some international friends will be very happy to accept it, but if this tea brings out a cauliflower flavor, will anyone still like it?

Xu Yi is going to transplant these tea trees to the edge of the light curtain, and plant some tasteless bamboo and other things around it to separate it from other things.

After all, I don't even know how to fry the tea, and I don't know what the taste of the tea will be.

After planting the tea trees again, Xu Yi watered them and stood there looking at the light curtain in front of him.

The light curtain was still covered with thin droplets, and it was not much different from before.

This phenomenon is obviously something that cannot be explained at all, and it has not affected him so far, so Xu Yi can only let it be.

Looking back in the direction of the "bathtub", I saw that the center was full of various plants and looked full of life, but the surrounding area was still barren.

But soon, I'll be filling all these places with stuff, right?

Thinking of this, Xu Yi couldn't help but clench his fists.

Xu Yi walked to the front of the tree pits with a shovel, began to fill the excavated soil into the pits, and after preparing to level the ground, he began to plant vegetables.

However, even after filling in all the dirt on the ground, the pits were still much lower than the surrounding ground.

For this, Xu Yi can understand, after all, these tree roots will occupy a certain space, and this tree roots are now decomposed, this soil is not enough to fill this pit is certain, just wait for himself to turn the ground a few more times, these pits will naturally be filled.
