Chapter 7: The controversy at the Blotted Bookstore
Since it takes time to make a new robe, Mrs. Weasley agrees to have Evan and Ginny go buy the other items on the school list first, and then meet together at the Blotts.
Of course, it's mainly Evan who is buying.
Ginny had a lot to inherit from his brother, Percy became a prefect this year, got twelve more O.W.L.S. certificates, and Mrs. Weasley bought him new school supplies, so that a lot of things were obsolete.
"Thank you, Aven, it's the best Christmas present I've ever received!" Ginny thanked Evan with a flushed face that looked like she was looking at Harry.
"Don't be stupid, that's just an excuse to get Mrs. Weasley to agree, I'll give you something else for Christmas. Thinking about what might happen to Ginny this year, Evan continued, "I think a red-covered journal would be a good choice. ”
"Well, that's not a bad idea, I can send you a black one back then. ”
"That's exactly what I need!" added Evan mentally, and it would have been perfect if it had been signed by Mr. Tom Riddle.
The two of them walked down the winding cobblestone streets, the shops along the street sounding from time to time, and the coins in Aiwen's pocket rang with pleasure, and he shouted for Aiwen to spend them.
However, after browsing a few magic shops and probably knowing the prices in the wizarding world, Ai Wen's heart gradually felt a little cold. Compared to what he wanted to buy, the gold galleons in his pocket were completely insufficient.
In fact, for a new Hogwarts student, Aven's gold gallons are definitely a lot of money, but he can't meet the items on the school list, there are too many things he wants to buy.
"Looks like we're going to find a way to make money!"
Although Evan can ask his parents for some more money, it is not long-term, they will not give too much money to a small child, especially since Evan wants to buy many things, which are not what a student should have.
He had a preliminary idea of how to make money, but it would not be realized until Hogwarts.
Next, led by Ginny, Aven bought a tin crucible for the school's list, a quality balance that measured medicines, and a collapsible brass telescope. At the pharmacy, the two bought standard quantities of medicinal herbs, which they could use in their first-year potions class. In addition, there are quills, ink, and parchment for recording.
Passing by a magical creature shop, neither of them entered.
Evan thought about it, he didn't plan to buy a pet at the moment, because his mother was allergic to birds, and other pets other than owls didn't help wizards at all, and it was too much trouble to take care of them in turn.
However, he collected mail-order lists for almost every store on Diagon Alley. You may need to purchase additional materials from here when preparing for your senior year.
Evan knew very well how much trouble he would encounter in the next few years, and he couldn't follow the textbook to study slowly, especially since he was still a year below the Savior.
When Harry's trio was running around the world in seventh form, it was terrible to think that he was still being tortured by the Death Eaters at school.
Along the way, Evan and Ginny chatted very happily, and the two quickly became good friends.
At the Hopping and Frolicking Magic Joke Shop, they bump into Fred, George, and Jordan Lee, who are buying in bulk "Dr. Labor's Auto-Ignition, Water-Blooming Magical Fireworks".
In a thrift store filled with tattered wands, rickety copper scales, and drug-stained old cloaks, they find Percy concentrating on a very boring book, How Prefects Gain Power.
The two of them didn't bother Percy, passing by Florin's cold drink shop, where Evan bought himself and Ginny two large pieces of chocolate lemon ice cream, and when they wandered into a dark alley, they saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione running out of the alley with pale faces.
Behind them, Hagrid, a burly hunting ground guard, was loudly reprimanding the three men, "Wandering around Tumbledown Alley, don't you know it's not a good place, Harry, don't let people see you there!"
"You went to Tumbledown Alley, and Mom wouldn't let us go there. Ginny leaned over with a worried look on her face.
"Go away, Ginny!" Ron waved his hand, looking impatient.
"Wait, Ron!" Harry explained hesitantly as he glanced at Aven, "we saw Draco Malfoy, who went with his dad to the Borgin Potk shop, which specializes in dark magic items. ”
"Harry!" Ron raised his voice, it was clear that he didn't want his little sister to know about it.
"Oh, what did you find?" Ignoring Ron's overreaction, Evan asked with some curiosity.
"Nothing, we watched the window outside for a long time until they left, and we didn't see them buy anything!" Hermione turned to look at Hagrid, "Hagrid, we're following Malfoy, what are you doing in Tumbledown Alley?"
"I'm looking for a medicine to repel the flesh-eating slugs, they're almost ruining the cabbage at school!" Hagrid said in a rough voice as he looked at Aven, "You must be the Evan Mason Harry told me, thanks to you helping him get out of that house, those abominable Muggles, if I knew"
Before Hagrid could finish his sentence, he saw Mrs. Weasley hurrying over with her freshly made robes, and behind her was Mr. Weasley, as well as Evan and Hermione's parents.
Immediately afterward, she knew that Harry had gone to Tumbledown Alley.
"Tumbledown Alley! Thanks to you for spotting him, Hagrid!"
"Well, mine is gone. Hagrid was a little embarrassed, his hand being clenched tightly by Mrs. Weasley, "See you at Hogwarts, kids!"
When Hagrid disappeared from the streets, Mrs. Weasley turned around and reprimanded the three of them, but instead Mr. Weasley was interested in what Harry had to say.
"Apparently, he's out to sell, he's scared!" said Mr. Weasley, gravely and satisfied, "Oh, I'd love to get the evidence of Lucius Malfoy." ”
"Beware, Arthur!" Mrs. Weasley admonished, "that family is not to be messed with, don't bite your bones that you can't gnaw." ”
"You think I can't beat Malfoy?" said Mr. Weasley indignantly, but his attention was quickly drawn to the crowd outside the Blotted Bookstore.
Most of them were witches of Mrs. Weasley's age, and all of them crowded the doorway to get in, and through the gap in the crowd, everyone saw Gilderoy Lockhart, dressed in blue wizard robes, sitting in the middle of the shop signing books.
All around him, there were large photographs of himself, all of his faces winking at the crowd, their teeth gleaking.
Although the other party is a magical idiot, Evan has to admit that Lockhart is a successful writer, if he doesn't steal other people's experiences.
Needless to say, Harry was unsurprisingly spotted by Lockhart, who was then pulled in to take a picture together, and Lockhart announced that he would be teaching at Hogwarts. When everyone came to their senses, they found that Mr. Weasley and Lucius Malfoy were fighting, and Lockhart, who was standing on the sidelines, was very excited, and then the two were separated by Hagrid, who suddenly appeared.
"Little girl, hold your book, it's the best thing your dad can give you!"
Lucius Malfoy broke free of Hagrid's arm, waved to Draco, and rushed out of the store.
"You shouldn't pay attention to him, Arthur. Hagrid reached out to smooth out Mr. Weasley's robes, nearly lifting him up, "This guy is terrible, their whole family is there, everyone knows it." The Malfoys' words are simply not worth listening to. Their blood is bad, that's what happened. ”
All eyes were on Mr. Weasley, while Evan had been watching the tattered Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration stuffed back into Ginny's hand, which, if nothing else, was a black journal mixed in.
After Lucius Malfoy left, the clerk at the Blotted seemed to want to stop them as well, but after Hagrid's extraordinary stature and Aven's very lucrative next order, he quickly put the fight behind him.
"Aven, what are you doing, do you want to empty the Blott Bookstore?" Ron watched in surprise as Evan quickly swiped across the list of books in his hand, including all the books in the Blott Bookstore, totaling more than eight thousand.
"How is it possible, I don't have that much money, I'm choosing what I need. Of course, it was impossible for Evan to buy all these books at once, he was going to pick out the books that he could use at the moment, and buy the rest slowly.
"Oh, that's a lot!"
"It's not a bad thing to learn more, Ron!"
"Dude, that sounds like Hermione. Ron leaned in and saw that Evan had selected a copy of Professor Libasho Baraki's Advanced Potions Making, "Ah, I read this book from Bill, it's something that only needs to be used in the N.E.W.T advanced wizard level exam." ”
"I think Evan is right, there's no harm in previewing in advance!" Hermione looked at Evan's book list, happily adding a few magic books to herself that would only be used in senior grades, and suggested by the way, "Aven, I think we should check the book list later, so that we can avoid repetition." ”
"Of course, Hermione!" Evan agreed pleasantly.
"Harry, both of them are crazy!"
"You're right, Ron!" Harry hesitated and picked up a copy of Professor Wendick's Curses and Anti-Curses, which he wanted to buy last year, but Hagrid didn't let him buy it, "Still, it's necessary to learn more, especially when dealing with Malfoy, isn't it?"
