Chapter Seventy-Six: The Association
That night, Tian Chuan was busy late at home and wrote a development plan for the imaginary competitive Tai Chi pusher. In this development plan, he put forward clear and feasible implementation plans for the competition rules, level promotion system, training system, and relationship with traditional Taijiquan schools for competitive Taijiquan pushers.
This is a relatively comprehensive set of development outlines, which is the result of Tagawa's repeated thinking for more than four months since the promotion contest in November last year. In this plan, he specifically listed the difficulties in promoting competitive Tai Chi pushers, which are the problems that need to be overcome and must be experienced in the development of this sport.
First of all, there is the question of the practical value of Tai Chi pushers. Tai Chi is widely spread, but the impression given to the public has always been slow and soft, and this problem also exists in pusher competitions. How to demonstrate the usefulness of Tai Chi as a combat art is the key to attracting people to participate in it.
At the same time, how to improve the intensity of the Tai Chi Tui Shou competition is also a difficult problem. Intensity is a direct measure of whether a fighting competition can be popular, and only when the game is fierce will it be exciting and recognized by the audience.
Secondly, there is the question of the means of training. The current practice method of Tai Chi Tuishou is still the traditional starting from routine and basic skill training, and gradually transitioning to Tuishou practice. It generally takes more than 10 years from entry to a certain level, which is too long. Such a slow pace simply cannot be recognized by today's fast-paced society. Efficiency methods must be improved and training cycles shortened for the sport to spread.
The third is the question of how to get into the public eye. We practice on our own, we play on the spot, it's easy. If you want everyone to know about this competition and understand this competition project, you must let it enter the big events, enter the mainstream media, and increase its exposure. How to get a consensus with the mainstream media and then get the big events to embrace it is a daunting task.
There is no ready-made experience to learn from the above three points, and there is no way to avoid them. You can only slowly grope your way forward until you find a suitable solution.
After the plan was written, Tagawa read it for himself and found it attractive, so he revised it again, entered it into the computer, printed out a few copies, and then went to bed.
The next morning, Tian Chuan took the written plan and went to the Department of Physical Education to find the teacher Li Litong who had studied with him. Teacher Li teaches martial arts classes and also teaches sanda. When he lost to Tagawa, he lost convincingly. Seeing Tian Chuan coming to him this time, Mr. Li was a little surprised.
After hearing about Tian Chuan's intention, Teacher Li pondered for a while and said to Tian Chuan: "Your pushing skills are so high, why don't you go to the student union to apply for a club, but come to our physical education department? What is the benefit of hanging the Taijiquan Association in our physical education department and finding a physical education teacher to take care of it? No one in our physical education department has a better kung fu than you." Tell us what you think. ”
Tagawa said: "I want to hang the Taijiquan Association in the Department of Physical Education for two reasons. One is that it is more formal and easy to organize competitions. On the other hand, I usually don't have much time to spend in the association, and the association may often invite some Tai Chi masters to give classes for everyone, and the physical education department can ask teachers to help with the reception and organization. ”
Listening to Tian Chuan talk about inviting Tai Chi masters, Teacher Li became interested and asked, "Tian Chuan, what are the Tai Chi masters you usually come into contact with?"
Tian Chuan said: "I am familiar with the predecessors of Sun, Yang, and Chen, and it is not a big problem to invite them to give lectures. In addition, I have also come into contact with some other martial arts schools, and I know a lot of people. ”
Tian Chuan said to Teacher Li: "We in the Taijiquan community have unanimously decided to promote Taiji's pushers to the society and make it a competitive sport, and I will be the first pilot here." It will receive strong support from all parties in the Tai Chi community. The main purpose of seeking the support of the Department of Physical Education now is also to make the sport more official and formal. He watched Teacher Li listen attentively, and then said: "Taijiquan is a very influential traditional martial arts and a valuable cultural heritage of our country. Vigorously developing and promoting this movement, if we can achieve certain results, it will also be very beneficial to the image of our university. ”
Teacher Li said: "What you said is very reasonable, but there are still several difficulties here. For example, the problem of the event venue, the problem of office space, the problem of the event funding, the problem of the competition rules, and so on. It will take a lot of energy and resources to solve them one by one, which is why I am hesitant. ”
Tagawa said: "I think there are always more ways than difficulties, and as long as we work hard, we can always achieve results." In view of the current problems, there are some resources that I can provide 7 resources to solve. For example, on the issue of competition rules, I have already prepared a first draft based on the competition experience of our National Taijiquan Conference last year, and we will have a meeting to evaluate it, and we should be able to put it into trial. For example, when it comes to the cost of the event, I can get some social sponsorship, and there will be no problem in a short period of time. As for the venue or something, I think the physical education department and the school should be able to solve it. In any case, we should do it first, and we should not worry about difficulties here. ”
Tian Chuan looked at Teacher Li, who was still a little hesitant, and said, "Actually, I don't have to do this through the physical education department or our school. But I think it's always more convenient to promote Tai Chi in your own school. In the future, once an achievement is made, it will also be a little contribution to the school. ”
At this point, Mr. Li was finally tempted. He understands Tagawa's mobility and organizational ability to a certain extent, and since Tagawa has vigorously promoted it and received the support of the Taijiquan community, there is still a certain probability of success. Even if he failed, it would have little effect on the Department of Physical Education and himself. There is no teacher who practices Tai Chi in the Department of Physical Education, only he is the one who teaches martial arts and sanda next to him. I immediately agreed.
In the afternoon of the same day, a large poster signed by Tian Chuan and Li Litong and stamped with the seal of the school's physical education department was posted on the school's bulletin board.
The poster calls on the majority of students who practice Taijiquan in school and students who are interested in learning Taijiquan to join the association to learn Taijiquan together and contribute to the promotion of Taijiquan, the traditional culture of the motherland.
The first draft of the association's organizational form and constitution is attached next to the poster, in which it is clearly stated that the purpose of the Taijiquan Association is to promote Taijiquan, develop Taijiquan techniques, carry out Taijiquan techniques and competitions, and strive to develop Taijiquan into a competitive sport.
Recruitment work then began. Tian Chuan first joined the association with a few classmates in the dormitory, and went to the association's temporary office every day, a separate semi-basement in the sports equipment warehouse, to work on the desk for the association's grass creation. They need to build member files, activity plans, document archiving, etc. from scratch. The office stationery used by the association was provided by Tagawa on an ad hoc basis. As for the flags, banners, and audio-visual equipment that are commonly found in student clubs, Tagawa also funded the purchase.
Member clothing is divided into dresses and sportswear, in fact, there are two versions of Chinese practice clothes, sportswear is cotton imitation silk button stumbling practice clothes, there are white, moon white, azure, dark blue, light red, rose red, red, goose yellow, grass green, dark green, black, pink and other colors can be selected. The back of the clothes has the Tai Chi Yin Yang Fish pattern and the word "Tai Chi" in Lishu, and there is a miniature version of the back pattern on the left chest, and below the pattern is the word "Tai Chi Association" in Xingshu. The training uniform is equipped with a belt of the same material at the waist, and in the future, it is planned to divide the practitioner's level according to the face of the belt. The overall design of the dress is similar, but with some occasional elements added to make it closer to everyday Tang costumes.
When new members join, they need to pay a membership fee of 10 yuan a year, and the association will issue a set of sportswear for members free of charge, and the color of the clothing can be chosen. If you need a second set or more sportswear or dresses, you can buy them independently, and the price is not high, 20 yuan for a set of sportswear and 50 yuan for a set of dresses. All members start with a black belt, which is the lowest level.
From low to high, the levels that Tagawa is preparing to set for Tai Chi Tui are black, white, blue, green, red, yellow, purple, and gold, a total of eight levels. His classification was determined with reference to the preciousness of the costumes of various groups of people in ancient China. In ancient China, black was the common clothing color of civilians, white was generally worn by wealthy people, cyan was a scholar, green was a low-level official, red was a high-ranking official, yellow was dedicated to the Ming and Qing royal families, purple was the most valuable color of the Tang Dynasty, and gold was the color of the Buddha's body. The Great Qin Empire, which was the first to unify China, emphasized black, but it was not designated as the exclusive color for the aristocracy, so it was still set as the lowest according to modern customs. In fact, from the heart, the black belt is set as the lowest, and there is no shortage of thoughts to oppose several sports in Japan and South Korea.
There were not many people who came to the association to sign up at the beginning, from the beginning of the recruitment to the first Saturday, there were less than 20 people in three days, of which only four had a foundation, and most of the others were attracted to the practice range in the grove.
On Saturday morning, at the request of the members of the association, Tagawa performed Tai Chi routines and pushers for everyone in the school gymnasium. In order to expand the influence of the association, he specially invited several heavyweights in the Taijiquan world, including Mr. Zhang Yunyi, the third generation of Sun Shi, Sun Pengfei, the fourth generation of Sun Pengfei, Chen Mingyuan, a master of Chen Shi, Liu Meiting of Yang Shi, etc., and Mr. Wu Zhensheng was also present. Li Litong, the instructor of the association, was on the scene, and Associate Professor Liu Wenqi, head of the Department of Physical Education, and Associate Professor Jing Zhan, deputy director in charge of the organization of student sports activities, were present. In addition, Tagawa took the lead and invited the school's martial arts association and taekwondo association in martial arts competition to watch and communicate. At the same time, he also put up posters on campus for interested students to come and see.
Before the exchange, Tagawa had communicated with three basic members of the association in advance. Among the three, Zhang Jianzhong practiced the performance routines, and was very familiar with the simplified twenty-four styles, forty-two styles, Tai Chi sword routines, etc., and also practiced the seventy-three styles of the Sun style. Lin Shuo practiced Chen-style boxing, his kung fu was average, and he had never practiced pushing, he practiced with his neighbors when he was a child, but he never put it down. Zeng Wenxuan learned Yang-style boxing, the routine is relatively simple, but the foundation of the pusher is good, Tian Chuan estimates that she is a little worse than Sun Pengfei, but it should be an opponent at the same level, and she already has a certain actual combat ability. When Zhang Jianzhong and Zeng Wenxuan first joined the association, they were both the best in the world, and they were not convinced by Tian Chuan as the president. Zeng Wenxuan arrived first, and when she entered the door, she challenged Tian Chuan, asking to take a hand first, but was directly convinced by Tian Chuan's move of "attracting the bird's tail". Next, Zhang Jianzhong came to sign up and asked for a routine. He was very unimpressed by Tagawa's tall and casual routines, and thought that Tagawa's movements were not solid. However, Zeng Wenxuan strongly admired Tian Chuan's routines, but scoffed at Zhang Jianzhong's beautiful and fancy routines, saying that they had no actual combat effect and were "Tai Chi dances". The final result was that Zhang Jianzhong and Zeng Wenxuan joined hands to try, Zhang Jianzhong, a young man with five big and three thick, was beaten by Zeng Wenxuan, a slightly weak little girl, and couldn't even find the north. In this way, the position of Tian Chuan, the boss, is firmly established.
