Chapter Seventy-Four: Development
Back in the capital, Tian Chuan plunged into the overall work of cotton picker development, and worked for a week before he roughly figured out the clue.
First of all, he asked Gong Lihua to set up a team of agricultural machinery service companies with the help of Director Ding, ready to receive cotton pickers that will be delivered by the United States in half a month and receive training from the United States.
Then, together with Gong Lihua, he divided the original technical personnel and newly recruited developers, a total of more than 20 people, into three parts, namely the general agricultural machinery design and development department, the cotton picker development department and the process department. He plans to establish an independent basic science research laboratory after the development of cotton pickers is on the right track, which is responsible for conducting cutting-edge scientific research related to the development of agricultural machinery, and is ready to carry out extensive cooperation with major universities.
The current development organization is unreasonable, and many functions of the new agricultural machinery and cotton pickers overlap. However, now the staff is limited, everyone has to take care of multiple aspects of work, if the development work is carefully divided, the manpower will be far short, it is better to do one or two small projects, large and medium-sized projects to form a small team to do. The process department is responsible for the process assessment of new products and the determination of the production industry. At the same time, Jiang Xiaoguang's industrial engineer team and standardization team participated in the construction of the development center, and instilled the concept of development standardization into the hearts of each technician in advance.
In fact, Tagawa prefers the model of American scientific research institutions for the construction of development teams, that is, the project responsibility system. Clarify the work content of each person in a certain period of time, evaluate the technical staff separately in terms of work ability and work results, and affect their income.
The third is the preparation of the experimental field, and Tian Chuan is ready to contract another adjacent piece of land with an area of more than 200 acres next to the current Shuanghe experimental field. The terrain of this land is relatively high, and there is a certain slope, not only is it dry, but watering is also a problem, and you can only rely on the weather for food.
Tian Chuan took An Haijun to see the land, and Mr. An thought that the soil was quite suitable for growing cotton, and as long as the problem of watering was solved, the harvest would not be bad. Over the years, the land has been contracted intermittently and has been planted with various drought-tolerant crops, all of which have been abandoned because of the poor harvest due to drought. The last time was three years ago when a villager planted alfalfa, and it was so dry that even the grass could not grow. Although it is usually dry, when it rains, the water flows down the slope, which can take away the fertility of the land and even wash away the crops.
Tagawa proposed that cotton should be planted on the land with high ridges perpendicular to the slope, so that the high ridges could block the impact of the water flow when it rained, and form a stepped ditch to preserve the rainwater as much as possible. Dig a water storage ditch at the bottom of the slope, use the excavated soil to make a cofferdam at the bottom of the slope, and plant fruit trees on the cofferdam to prevent soil erosion. Using drip irrigation to solve the problem of watering, it is still a good land, which can form a planting time difference with the original 150 acres of land and extend the cotton picking cycle of the experimental field.
When discussing the contract issue with the local township government, the township's opinion was that the contract fee should be waived, and that Tian Chuan should be allowed to plant white seeds for five years, and then the renovated land should be returned to the township. Tian Chuan was not at ease, and insisted on signing a ten-year contract with the township government, with an annual rent of 40,000 yuan. With this contract, a lot of unnecessary troubles can be avoided in the future.
Tian Chuan immediately renovated the newly contracted land, first dug a reservoir, built a cofferdam, and then leveled the land in two batches, and then raised high ridges horizontally to buckle the mulch. The 150 acres of cotton land planted first were planted one month and two months later, respectively.
The drip irrigation equipment has been delivered before planting. This is a simple drip irrigation device. Tie two micro-holes in the long polyethylene hose every 10 cm, spread the perforated hose in the middle of the cotton ridge, pressurize the pressurized water into the hose, and the thin water will be sprayed out from the small holes to water the cotton on both sides.
This irrigation method is not like flood irrigation, which can be watered continuously for a long time without worrying about the water flowing away, saving water and watering better.
In addition, Tian Chuan contacted Chen Xiong, the director of Lingao Farm in Hainan, and prepared 100 acres of land there, preparing to avoid the typhoon season and plant off-season cotton for harvesting experiments.
Fourth, there is the issue of the location of the R&D center. At present, there are nearly 30 employees in the R&D center, and Tagawa expects to expand to more than 60 in half a year. At present, the office of the machinery company is stretched thin, and the problem must be solved immediately.
Tian Chuan asked the director of the Ding factory to come forward, found the local township government, and won another 70 acres of land on the north side of the machinery company, which was used to build a research and development center and a future cotton picker production line.
Now that the land approval and land acquisition work have been basically completed, the R&D center office building is being designed, which is expected to be completed in May.
The main four floors of the office building will be divided into office areas, test areas, conference rooms and archives, which will be able to accommodate 200 people working at the same time. On the remaining new land, a pilot plant will be built to meet the test requirements in the design.
The production workshop was not built for the time being, and the spare land was temporarily planted with cotton so that technicians could observe nearby.
Finally, Tian Chuan arranged for Professor Zhao to lead the team, and the old fitter Xu Huaili as a consultant, mainly composed of designers to form the American cotton picker dismantling team, ready to start the dismantling work after the cotton picker prototype arrived. Tian Chuan got the news from John Deere headquarters that the 9965 cotton picker was controlled by a computer program, and for this reason, he specially invited an application computer expert, Professor Mu Yinglan, from the University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Professor Mu is a female professor in her fifties, not tall, dressed plainly, and looks like an ordinary housewife, but she is a well-known expert in program control in China. For cracking the relatively simple cotton picker program, Professor Mu is full of confidence.
When Tagawa was talking to Professor Mu about this, she was a little reluctant to take on this simple task, feeling that it was a waste of time. Tian Chuan persuaded her: "Professor Mu, I think you are underestimating our agricultural machinery project. In the current cotton picker, the program-controlled content is relatively simple, but our development goal is to surpass the most advanced American John Deere company within ten years, and basically realize intelligent cotton picking. In the new concept of cotton picker that we are about to start developing, the program-controlled part will be the top priority, and it will not be possible to succeed without the participation of a computer expert like you. ”
Under the persuasion of Tian Chuan, Professor Mu Yinglan finally undertook the project of cracking the control module of the cotton picker, and reached a cooperation intention on the design of the control module of the new generation of intelligent cotton picker.
Tagawa put forward some specific requirements for the cotton picker dismantling team, and these requirements include:
1. Before the dismantling of each module or part, it is necessary to take detailed photos, and record the operation and dismantling process of the module.
2. The numbering and preservation of parts should be done well, and the numbering should be meticulous to each screw. At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to the quality difference between some standard parts and the parts we buy on the market.
3. Be sure to pay attention to safety, the running machine is very dangerous, and we must avoid safety liability accidents when we are close to work. On the basis of the safety manual provided by the US side, we should establish our dismantling safety manual.
4. A detailed dismantling plan should be made before the start, and a dismantling report should be issued as the dismantling progresses.
With the construction of the R&D center, a large amount of money has been paid out one by one, since Tian Chuan returned to China, has invested millions, in the first half of the year, the follow-up investment of the R&D center will be nearly 10 million yuan. Fortunately, the sales of harvesters and on-demand planters have been on the right track, and nearly 30 million yuan has been collected at present, and the gross profit has been more than 10 million yuan. Otherwise, with the balance of less than 6 million yuan in Tian Chuan's hand, it would not be able to support such a large expenditure project. In the next year, the expected income of the machinery company will be able to maintain more than 10 million yuan per month, the peak of harvester and on-demand planter production before the end of May, will continue to the production of ridge mulching machine in July and August, the production of corn harvester from June to mid-month, and the subsequent production of other new agricultural machinery, which will ensure the continued profit of agricultural machinery company.
After the preliminary work on the development of the cotton picker came to an end, Tagawa began to implement the long-thought shares of the machinery company and reward the work. He asked Liu Yinan and Lian Jingjing to spend two days calculating the current market value valuation of the machinery company, and the appraisal data was 130 million yuan. Among them, the valuation of fixed assets is 20 million yuan, including the legacy assets of the original agricultural machinery factory, the newly invested CNC equipment and production lines, the fixed assets investment of the new R&D center, and the valuation of the contracted test field, among which the largest part is the newly purchased two John Deere cotton pickers, accounting for nearly 10 million yuan. The proportion of asset appraisal is relatively large, including work-in-progress and finished products and receivables of nearly 30 million yuan, several new agricultural machinery intangible assets that have been put into production and are under design are worth 20 million yuan, market expansion is worth 35 million yuan, and R&D centers and cotton picker projects are worth 25 million yuan.
Tagawa intends to take out 3% of the shares as a reward in the first phase, with an appraised market value of about 4 million yuan. He plans to award this part of the shares to Professor Zhao, Jiang Jianbing, Director Ding, Jiang Xiaoguang and other management personnel of the company. As for Gong Lihua and Wei Wenqiang, who is about to join, they are not included in the first batch of lists because they have been in the company for too short a time or have not yet joined the company, and if nothing else, they will appear in the second batch of lists. Tian Chuan's share distribution ratio is 0.8% for Professor Zhao, 1.2% for Jiang Jianbing, 0.6% for Director Ding, 0.4% for Jiang Xiaoguang, and 0.15% for Xu Huaili. This ratio was directly decided by Tagawa himself, and he was not prepared to ask others for advice on this.
After the matter was decided, he presided over an all-staff meeting of the company and announced the first batch of share award lists. After the list was announced, Tagawa made a brief speech: "The share award is not a corporate act, but a personal act of me as a boss. The share of each person's reward is mainly affected by the size of the contribution made to the company, but also related to my personal subjective factors. The people in the list announced today include managers, external technicians, and skilled workers, and they have in common that they have made great efforts and made outstanding contributions to the establishment and development of the company during the company's initial period. The shares of this award account for 3.15% of the total shares, and I have prepared 8% of the shares for rewarding employees who have made outstanding contributions, that is, there are still 4.85% of the reward shares waiting for everyone to receive, I hope you will work hard. ”
