Chapter Forty-Eight: Never Do It
Takahashi pressed the shutter twice, and the Kodak camera made two "clicks, clicks" sounds, and the two images were printed on the film.
After taking the photo, Takahashi didn't stop for more, but went to pick up the leather shoes he had sent two days ago.
Italy's handmade leather shoes, although they look full of style, but the quality is really not flattering, Takahashi only wore it for less than a week before it was opened. Fortunately, it is free maintenance for life, and there is no other loss except for spending some time.
Takahashi picked up the bag containing the repaired leather shoes, got on the Hibiya Line, and got off the bus in Akihabara after six stops to return to the office.
Half of the people sent out by the company came back, and the people who came back handed over their cameras to a makeshift darkroom, and when they waited for someone here, the darkroom would wash out the photos.
"People who came back lined up to report in. Before Yuji Kudo entered the house, the voice had already come in.
The conversation in the room stopped instantly, and the people sitting in the chairs also stood up.
Takahashi stood at the end of the line, listening to the people in front of him report on sales.
"Fifty!"
"One hundred!"
"Thirty!"
"Twenty!"
β¦β¦
Different people said different numbers, and after they finished speaking, they wrote down their places to go, their names, and the sales they recorded on the table notebook.
After more than twenty minutes, it was Takahashi's turn.
"Seventeen. β
Takahashi, like the person in front of him, said the quantity, and then wrote the address, name, and sales volume.
A few people who came back after Takahashi also finished filling in the address after the sales. Yuji Kudo said first, "Thank you for your hard work, today is a big day for the company." The number of first-day sales would have taken a few days for Nintendo to tell us. In order to have an idea of sales first, I sent everyone out today, and I worked hard for everyone. β
After saying the clichΓ©, Yuji Kudo waited for a while, looked at the table and said, "At present, there are a total of 1,720 units of sales data that everyone has counted. The sales figures are not bad, and it is a good sign that such data can be obtained only three hours after the launch starts. Let's rest first, and when the rest of us are back, we'll count them again. Miyazaki, you go and ask how many photos have come out, and bring all the washed photos. β
"Yes. Miyazaki answered and walked directly to the darkroom.
In 1985, even in the first edition, the cost of taking and developing color photographs was not low. In addition, color photos are a bit complicated to wash and take longer, so this time I used black and white film.
A darkroom is said to be a darkroom, but it is not pitch black without any light. The red light brightened the darkroom, and the pool of the workbench was filled with unknown liquids.
The washed photographs, like drying clothes, were hung on a rope with clips.
"Give me all the washed photos. Miyazaki shouted outside the house, and after a while an envelope slipped through the crack in the door.
"President, here's the photo. Miyazaki handed the envelope to Yuji Kudo.
Yuji Kudo looked at them one by one, looking at the age of the customers who bought "Gold Diggers" in each photo, and didn't know what he was thinking.
Suddenly, he saw a photograph taken from afar. It looks like it's in Ginza, and in the photo, there are two people sitting indoors through the glass, and one of them looks a bit like Kyosuke Koguchi, the head of the game department.
"Who took this picture?" asked Yuji Kudo, holding up the picture.
Several nearby employees shook their heads when they looked at it, and one by one in the distance took a closer look, and Takahashi saw the photo and said, "This is what I took it." β
"Is this Kyosuke?" asked Yuji Kudo, pointing to the man in the photo.
Takahashi said, "I'm not sure if it's the head of the game department, but I look a little bit like it, and I just happened to have a camera to take it." β
"Where did you shoot it?" asked Yuji Kudo.
"Ginza. Takahashi replied.
"What are you doing in Ginza?"
"I went to pick up the shoes, and the Italian leather shoes that the president took me to buy were broken, and I sent them two days ago, and I went to pick them up early today. β
Yuji Kudo nodded when he heard Takahashi's explanation, although he has rarely seen Takahashi in the company recently, but I heard from the manga club next door that Takahashi works there late every day.
Although the length of the work is not indicative of the exact amount of work produced by a person, the recent surge in sales of magazines featuring Hudson's and Shogakukan collaborations has proven the value of Takahashi's work.
"Do you know that woman?" asked Yuji Kudo Takahashi.
Takahashi shook his head.
"President, I seem to know this woman!" said a clerk next to him.
"Who is she?" said Kudo, turning his head to look at the clerk who was speaking.
The clerk rummaged through his pockets for a while, took out a business card and presented it to Yuji Kudo with both hands, and said, "This is this person, this is the business card she gave me when I went to Namco a few days ago." β
"Fukuhara Miyo?" Kudo Hiroshi muttered as he looked at the name on his business card, "Did you go with Minister Koguchi that day?"
"Nope. The clerk shook his head.
"Hmm......" Yuji Kudo looked up at Takahashi, his fingers tapping on the table, probably thinking about something.
The staff who accosted him originally wanted to show off his presence in front of the president. It's a pity that the president didn't speak again after asking a few questions. He was in a hurry to perform, but he was afraid of disturbing the president's thinking and being scolded, so he could only stand aside stupidly.
Takahashi also quietly took a few steps back, retreated to the corner and sat down. On the ground to his right hand was the shoe he had retrieved.
The shoes were indeed broken, not deliberately broken by Takahashi, but by himself.
The broken leather shoes just gave Takahashi a reason to go to Ginza. As for "coincidentally" seeing the head of the game department, he took a photo "curiously".
Regardless of whether Yuji Kudo believes it or not, Takahashi himself believes it anyway.
He didn't choose to report directly, how long he had only been here, compared to his old subordinates and fellow countrymen for several years, it was unknown how much Yuji Kudo could trust him.
Instead of filing a lawsuit directly, it is better to plant the seeds of doubt in Kudo's heart now. This latent seed, slowly germinating, what it will eventually rise into depends on the choice of the head of the game department himself.
If he doesn't have anything to do with the female staff of Namco, or just a pure relationship between men and women, that's fine. If you betray Hudson's secret in order to be with her, or do something else to harm Hudson, hehe, just wait for Yuji Kudo's thunderous rage.
Think about what happened to the retainers who betrayed their masters in ancient times, and what happened to the ministers of the game department.
If you don't die, you won't die, and you will be completely to blame.
Takahashi chose this method to deal with the head of the game department, although it didn't seem to be as refreshing as directly blowing up his dog's head, but the stamina was much greater, and it could ruin the rest of his life.
Who makes Takahashi kind-hearted, and he doesn't see others suffering from flesh and skin. When he first beat Shimada, he felt a little pity for the boy who fell to the ground.
Since then, he has made up his mind that in the future, he will never do it without doing it, and he will have something to say and something to do.
