Although the research and development time was very tight, Wang Yu still carefully studied this engine. The pump injection principle and the adjustable vane turbocharger have never appeared in Zhengxin's previous engines.

After the engine test results were obtained, Wang Yu was surprised to find that using the pump injection principle and adjustable blade technology, the TDI engine can better control the fuel injection volume with the cooperation of the ECU, and greatly improve the fuel efficiency. Compared with several common diesel engines with the same displacement on the market, the power of TDI has increased by about 20%, but under the increase, fuel consumption and the amount of carbon dioxide produced by combustion have not increased but decreased.
