Chapter 36: Captain
The lowest level of the ruins of North Lan.
Patrick and G41 leave the lift, and not far from the exit there is a suspended obelisk carved with strange symbols.
"What is this?" asked Patrick.
"I don't know, I don't know what it means...... The language of the relict creatures has never been studied, but it is better that their writing has been discovered for the first time. ”
"Okay. ”
He tried to touch the obelisk, but the symbols on it didn't glow like the previous ones. After several attempts and no response, Patrick gave up.
He looked around, and there were walls on all sides, and they were empty.
"What's going on? There's nothing at all. ”
"It's hard to find any clues without knowing the contents of the obelisk......," said madly and helplessly.
Suddenly, G41 seemed to notice something and approached the crystal wall.
"Master, there seems to be something on the wall. G41 said.
Patrick walked over as well, looking closely at the hexagonal bricks on it, and found that each crystal was inlaid with an unknown orb. Almost all of the orbs were dim, except for the one above G41's head, which had a faint purple light, which appeared and disappeared, as if calling to him.
He stretched out his hand and tried to touch the sphere that had been "frozen" in the hexagon, and the sphere became much brighter, and not far behind him, seven spliced together floor tiles shone out a pillar of light.
They got it right. A voice in his head told Patrick that he should go inside, into that pillar of light.
"I've never seen anything like it. G41 seemed to be fascinated, and said vaguely, walking towards the pillar of light step by step.
"Interesting. Madness was still immersed in his fantasies.
"I'll go in first," Patrick said, holding G41, "you stay here and see if the communicator will work when I get in." ”
"Ah...... Be. ”
Patrick walked up to the pillar of light and tentatively put a hand in it first, and there was no adverse reaction. Immediately, he entered the pillar of light, and in less than two seconds, he felt that his body had become a lot lighter, and the AED system was slightly disturbed, although there was a little discomfort, but it was only a fleeting thing.
After stepping out of the pillar of light again, he was surprised to find that he had come to another place. The surrounding light is very dim, and the field of vision can only be seen clearly when switching to night vision mode. There is a stone ring in the corner, presumably used to activate the light pillar at the time of return, and there is a light source at the other end, which is likely to be the exit, but other than that, there is nothing else noteworthy about this small space.
The hidden space meant that his target was likely to be here, and Patrick suspected that he had been guided to get there. Regardless, he could tell that his blood was boiling, and even though he looked the same as usual, the excitement in his heart was uncontrollable.
Hades-01 called. Patrick said.
"Hear it very clearly. G41 replied in the communicator.
That's fine.
"Okay, come here, there's no danger. ”
After merging with G41, they made their way to the light source, and Patrick's curiosity to uncover the truth urged Patrick to be as cautious as he could, his pace still more eager than ever. Walking out of the dark and cramped cave house, they were faced with a more spacious and bright space. Looking up is a spherical dome, and at your feet is a suspended staircase leading to your destination.
"Are we in that ball?"
"That's right, that pillar of light sent us into this compressed space. Madness replied.
"Compression, no problem, right?"
"I don't understand the principle, but I should be fine if I pass the pillar of light one more time when I leave. ”
"Humph......"
Patrick wasn't quite happy with the perfunctory explanation, but they were already in, and nothing else mattered.
Walking down the stairs, the huge room was filled with warm light, and there were many crystal fragments on the ground, probably caused by the multiple turmoil in Beilan Island. Patrick looked left and right and observed the room, and he could even make out the tables, chairs, and bookshelves, which also contained crystal plates, which could be books from the relict creatures. The crystal plates have all failed, and some have even broken completely, and there are not a few who are missing.
These objects are very similar to those found in everyday human life, and to put it mildly, everything is nothing more than enlarged utensils, and there is basically no difference. Patrick looked away from the crystal plate and moved to the depths of the room, where a rather tall woman sat on a bed shaped like a training pod, in a serene and graceful posture, as if she were asleep.
THAT'S "GAVIRUL" ...... No one would have thought that the power that the whole world is pursuing, which can conquer the whole world, is no different from themselves, at least on the surface.
This had to make one wonder if it was really "GAVIRUL", and they had to confirm it so that it wouldn't be a creature like a sentinel again.
"You're still alive. A VOICE ECHOED IN THE BEDROOM, AND JUST AS PATRICK WAS ABOUT TO APPROACH "GAVIRUL," HE SIGHED.
"Bowman ......"
"Alive, alive!" Incredulous, incredulous, turned into irrational resentment, "Thanks to you, the plan is all out of order!yes, you've survived the Sentinels, what else can I do!"
"What the hell are you talking about......" The disgust of hearing others talk to themselves wells up.
"Let's make a deal, mercenary. Bowman's tone was strangely normal, but the wavering in it was still not hidden.
"Deal?"
"That's right, I'll help you parse 'GAVIRUL' in exchange for ......"
"Unfortunately, we don't need your help. Patrick turned him down.
"Don't you need it...... No need to ......," said Bowman, his voice trembling, "who are you?"
The unknown agent of the South Pole shouted in full force, his spirit completely broken.
"Do we need to tell you?"
However, Patrick did not hear a response and immediately became alert. He wasn't sure if it was the ruins that made Bowman who he was, or if it was his own.
Patrick couldn't see anyone, so he scanned the AED system for reconnaissance. By the time Bowman's figure was marked, he had already raised his gun, and Patrick quickly dodged to the side, Bowman pulled the trigger and swept away with a bullet.
G41 shoots at Bowman. Both were shot at the same time and fell.
"Ahem...... Hahaha! I won!" Bowman was panting with blood from the corners of his mouth, trying to support himself. There was an inconspicuous piece of instrument glowing on his shoulder, and his body was recovering little by little.
"GAVIRUL is my discovery! Antarctica will make a major breakthrough in relic technology!"
He slowly recovered from the effects of an AED-like device and climbed up from the ground.
"The future of mankind will be created in my hands!
"Making this kind of declaration without authorization, whether it is the people of Nanlian or the people of Luolian, they like to be so arrogant......"
"What ......"
Antarctica's mastery of similar technology surprised Patrick, but on the other hand, he had such technology, and the Antarctic side was also surprised.
He slowly stood up, his eyes glowing and looking directly at Bowman. The Antarctic agent was terrified, and repeatedly pulled the trigger, but the rifle was out of ammunition.
"No way, no way! except us...... No, I would never admit that such a monster exists!"
Patrick raised his right hand, holding the pistol, through the sight, staring indifferently at his brow.
"Now, you've seen it. ”
