Chapter 35: Between the Ancients
Back to the rotary lift, I don't know how long it has been. There was no rest between them, and even if they almost lost their lives after defeating a terrible monster, they had to go deeper.
Patrick didn't know where Bowman had gone, but they could only search down layer by layer, and there could be no mistakes. In some ways, Antarctica knows more about the ruins than they do.
The rotary lift rotates ninety degrees clockwise to send them to the next floor. On this level, the usual smooth stone walls and recessed crystal lamps reappeared, illuminating a path leading to the spacious stone chambers.
"Don't push yourself, G41. Patrick said, trying to convince the G41 to go back first.
"It's okay, I'm fine. G41 smiled.
So be it. Since she said so, she wouldn't change her mind, no matter what he said.
They walked into the stone room, which was structured in a symmetrical geometric shape, as if in a very regular cube. There are neat benches arranged on the left and right, and the benches are made of metal pipes, and the gap between the front and back is very spacious, enough for two pedestrians to come and go when a normal person is full.
There was a raised stone platform in front of the seats on either side, which Patrick was no longer a stranger to. The damage to the surface of the stone round platform is relatively serious, and it is estimated that it has long lost its original function, and their role is not clear, and it may only be a few lines of symbols.
A metal fence separates the stone chamber from the middle, and the front part is the rest area. The fence is at least one and a half meters high, neither taller than Patrick nor too short, giving a strong sense of incongruity. That might be the standard for a relict creature, Patrick thought, after all, they hadn't even seen the actual relict creature itself. He didn't believe that the Sentinels were the embodiment of the relics creatures, and that something that only went crazy could not have created these magnificent ruins, but rather more like the one who was created.
In the middle of the fence is a lift gate, which was lowered countless years ago because of the loss of power supply. Passing through this gate, another area behind the fence is an unbelievably enclosed space. There were smooth stone walls on three sides, and if it weren't for the arched stone carving in front of each of them, Patrick would not have guessed where it was. Walking into these stone sculptures, the patterns and symbols on them seemed meaningless, but he remembered it very well, he had seen it several times.
"Arched door," Patrick picked up the shards of the stone carvings on the ground, the broken door wouldn't open again, "Collapse the teleportation device?"
"Well, yes, there's a lot of ruins. Madness replied.
"If you look closely, it looks like a waiting hall for your flight. G41 said.
"Portals are the main way for relict creatures to get to and from the ruins, oh come on, who's going to take a vehicle with this?"
"Three gates," Patrick looked around, "the flow of people here is okay." ”
"I hope so," said Mad disapprovingly, "this relic group is probably the largest we've ever discovered. ”
"However, I didn't find a controller that resembled a portal. ”
"Probably not, it's not surprising that you can activate the teleporter by touching the door directly. Such a low-level sentinel can use the principle of collapsing particles at will, let alone the owner of the ruins. ”
If that's the case...... Patrick sincerely wanted to have a friendly conversation with the owner of the ruins, rather than start attacking each other when they met.
"Sentinels like watchdogs?" said G41, his ears on the top of his head twitching twice.
"Well, that's a very vivid metaphor. But in that case, we were almost killed by the dog who took care of the house. ”
Patrick couldn't laugh at it, if the creatures of the relics were all similar to the sentinels, then it was almost certain that the human form was actually a small derivative of the human research process on the ruins, a trivial by-product. The purpose of those people was clear from the beginning...... Patrick finally remembered an important term in the remnant creatures.
As for the human form, it is probably because someone saw a business opportunity in it and produced them like a product. Patrick agrees with scientists and businessmen that Griffin, the edge of the world, is the edge of the world and that it is true that the human form can change the form of war, but the truth is mixed with lies, and the unforgivable lie conceals the nature of the human form.
Patrick was thinking that they had left the teleportation room and were heading to the next level. He didn't listen to a word of the wild reasoning he had been pouring out all he had, and now he was all he wanted to do was find the secret buried deep beneath the ruins, and he had to know everything to know if it would prove the picture he had drawn in his mind. Whether it is right or wrong, he will gladly accept it and then do the mission he is supposed to fulfill......
Two large crystal doors stood in front of them, and Patrick returned from his thoughts to reality and looked up. The crystal door was deformed, and there was enough space between the two doors for people to pass through, and through the crystal door, Patrick saw that there were several gaps in the ceiling.
"Multi-layer partition...... Is it meant to isolate the area......" Madness whispered.
"Isolation?" asked Patrick, who was surprised to see the crystal door.
"Quarantine mechanisms for emergencies, I guess. ”
"What do you mean by danger zones?" Patrick said.
"At least for the remnant creatures, yes. ”
"That's amazing! Master, come and see this!"
Patrick climbed the stairs and caught up with the G41 who ran ahead. Standing in front of him was a huge transistor almost ten meters high, with a hexagonal cross-section, and its contents were a yellowish liquid that emitted a faint light.
And so it was.
"What is such a high concentration of collapse fluid used for?"
"The use of the collapse fluid is so much more, after all, it may be the fundamental energy source of the relict organisms. ”
The madness explained fine, but Patrick felt another layer of the relic's understanding of the collapse fluid – they were in awe of the water in these jars. Over the past few centuries, most of the other relics have been damaged and malfunctioning, but this is the only place where it is still functioning. The importance that the relics creatures attach to the collapse fluid is not a star.
"Hexagon again! Transistors, rooms, floor tiles, all hexagons!"
Patrick noted the devices on the inner walls, distributed in the six corners of the hexagon.
"Madness, what's that?"
"That's ...... A group of three conveyors should be part of an emergency response mechanism. Isolate the area where the slump fluid leaks, and then discharge the slump fluid out of the ......"
"Discharge, where is discharge?"
"If the ruins are underground, they can only be discharged to the surface......"
Suddenly, madness fell silent.
"What's wrong?"
"Hahaha!" Crazy suddenly laughed madly, "It's really funny, yes! just think the other way around!"
"Do you understand something?"
"yes! Root Disruption! I can't wait, let's hurry up and get to the last place! Patrick!"
Patrick sighed. No matter what madness thinks, no matter what he sees in the end......
"Let's go, G41. ”
