Chapter 36: The Norwegian Ridgeback Dragon
It is common knowledge in the wizarding world that it is illegal to raise a dragon, but Ryan looks at Hagrid's excited appearance now and thinks that he may not accept the persuasion to give up his dream of raising a dragon.
Sure enough, when Hermione pointed out that Hagrid lived in a wooden house, and that a fire dragon inside might well have ruined it all. Hagrid was still excited to tell them about the dragon.
"I read 'Raising Dragons for Fun and Profit,' and it says to put eggs in the fire because their mothers exhale at them. You see, it's written here, and when it hatches, feed it a barrel of brandy and chicken blood every half hour. Look at it again - how to tell the difference between eggs - I got a Norwegian ridgeback, which is very rare. ”
Ryan watched Hagrid play with the fire while humming a little song happily, and felt that Hermione's persuasion was useless, maybe only after Hagrid raised this dragon for a while, and suffered some losses before he came to his senses.
Besides, Ryan now has pretty much mastered the Crazy Dave's Beginner's Guide to Plant Cultivation. Now he plans to breed a special plant of his own, and when the dragon hatches, he may be able to get something related to dragons to grow plants.
Over the next few days, Harry and Ron began to accept Hermione's help with the revision plan. But this makes them even more irritable, because now there is another dragon to worry about besides the Philosopher's Stone. They felt that sooner or later they would go crazy if they went on like this.
Then, at breakfast one day, Hedwig brought Harry another note from Hagrid. There were only four words written on it;
Ron didn't want to take a herb class, he wanted to go straight to Hagrid's cabin, which Hermione and Ryan adamantly disagreed.
Ron tried to argue, but Ryan interrupted him a little roughly.
"Shut up. "This is not the place to discuss this. Didn't you see a bunch of Slytherins coming over for breakfast?"
Ron ate the jam bread with some disappointment, and it wasn't until the lunch break that they found free time.
As soon as the bell rang, Harry and the others quickly threw down their shovels and hurried across the field, towards the edge of the forbidden forest. They were greeted by Hagrid, his face flushed and excited.
"It's coming out soon. He let them into the hut. "Where's Ryan?"
"Ryan and Professor Sprout have some questions to ask, he spends a lot of time in the greenhouse every herb class, and he'll be over in a moment," Hermione said to Hagrid.
When Ryan hurried over from the greenhouse, the little dragon had already been born. The newborn baby dragon has wrinkled wings and is about the size of a chicken. Occasionally, a spark or two chokes out of his mouth.
Hagrid, who had been bitten on the finger when he tried to pet the little dragon, still said happily, "Oh my God, you see, it knows its mother!"
When Ryan saw this, he swallowed back the advice that had already come to his lips. At least Hagrid, who is in joy today, will never listen to the advice, and when the little dragon grows up and all kinds of problems come out, he will advise Hagrid with facts.
As they left Hagrid's hut and returned to the castle. Ryan was prompted.
- Malfoy did not find out that the dragon was born. Get an offset point of 2 points.
Well, now there's 22 offset points, and Ryan smiled with satisfaction as he looked at his offset points. However, the thought of Hagrid trying to keep dragons indoors made him smile again, after all, it would be very difficult to get a fanatic of fierce animals to give up raising dragons.
Ryan's speculation became a reality. Dragons weren't a domesticated animal, at least not for Hagrid, but Hagrid still wouldn't give up.
In just one week, the dragon had tripled in length. Clouds of smoke puffed out of its nostrils. Hagrid put aside the job of guarding the hunting grounds because the dragon was messing with him. The ground was littered with empty brandy bottles and chicken feathers.
When Ryan and the others go to see Hagrid once, Hagrid's big face has a maternal color on it, teasing the little dragon.
"I decided to call it Noble," Hagrid said, looking at the dragon with tearful eyes, "and it really knows me now, you see." Where's Mommy?"
Ryan felt a little uncomfortable when he saw this scene, after all, such a big and three thick person pressed his throat to make such a sound. It's a bit chilling.
But Ryan still stepped forward to persuade Hagrid: "Hagrid, at this rate of growth, it will grow as big as your house in two weeks, and you can't hide it at school." Besides, I've read the laws of wizards, and raising a dragon without permission is a felony worthy of a prison sentence for Azkaban. Not to mention that the dragon is a natural king of the sky, his nature is not suitable for this house raised by you, even if you are for ..... well, for the sake of Noble, you should let go. ”
It was clear that Ryan's remarks had touched Hagrid a little. He bit his lip. "I- I know I can't keep it forever, and I know I should let it go, Dumbledore has helped me a lot, I shouldn't bother him anymore. But I can't just throw it away, it's too small to survive on its own. ”
Hagrid does love these animals, and compared to those who had pets on a whim in their previous lives, and then threw away their pets when things didn't go their way, Hagrid was the real animal protector.
But now this problem still needs to be solved. Ron thought for a moment and said, "My brother Charlie keeps dragons in Romania, we can give him this dragon, I think he must have a way to take care of this dragon." ”
"This should be the best thing to do for Noble. Hagrid wept as he spoke, occasionally pulling out a large handkerchief to wipe the corner of his eye.
Finally, in front of Hagrid, Ron writes a letter to his brother asking about it.
The week that followed was like a year, and on Wednesday night around 12 p.m., Ryan and Hermione sat in the common room and turned on the Immortal Cultivation Review mode. It was Harry and Ron who had climbed in through the hole in the common room, cloaked in invisibility cloaks, who had just gone to Hagrid to feed Noble.
"Ryan, help me see what's wrong with Ron's hand?" Harry said to Ryan as soon as he entered, as he had seen Ryan feel his pulse in the common room and seemed to know a medical skill, and Chinese medicine was not much different from magic in the eyes of Westerners. Obviously, Ryan was shown because Ron was not in a fit for Madam Pomfrey.
Ron held out a finger wrapped in a bloodied handkerchief. Ryan opens the handkerchief and discovers that the wound is supposed to have been bitten by a dragon. There is some greenish staining and redness in the tooth marks.
"Damn, why is this dragon poisonous in its teeth?, wait for me, I'll get something. With that, Ryan ran upstairs, leaving the three of them looking at each other in the common room.
