Chapter 499: The Longest Journey is the Inner Journey

In fact, every city, like every person, has a story.

borrowing the lyrics of a classic old song by Zhuang Nu, the song "There are Many Stories in a Small Town" sung by Monarch Teng is the most appropriate to express this feeling.

There are many stories in the small town,

Full of joy and joy.

If you come to a small town,

The harvest is particularly rewarding.

Looks like a painting,

Listen like a song,

The realm of life, truth, goodness, and beauty are included here.

Talking, talk

The story of the small town is really good,

Invite your friends to come along,

The town is a guest.

Talking, talk

The story of the small town is really good,

Invite your friends to come along,

The town is a visitor......

……

A small city has a story, let alone a big city?

Stories are endless, but stories are only useful and valuable when they are told to those who understand......

To understand a city, you can't just look at the profile, understand the information, and hearsay to really understand it, unless you don't really want to understand, otherwise, you have to let go and go for a walk.

Take a walk and see the world.

When Ye Chao was a child, he was a person who couldn't even walk, so he had a strong desire to walk...... Today, he is no longer a person who even walks is a luxury. But for being able to walk on the ground, there is still a love that is hard to let go.

Measuring a city with footsteps is not something that everyone likes to do, however, Ye Chao is such a person who likes to do this kind of thing.

Walking and traveling, not everyone has the physical strength and perseverance to do it.

On this day, Ye Chao stood in front of a cathedral......

The name of this church is called the Cathedral of Godpaul.

Gothenburg Cathedral stands on a hill called Masthugget, and its distinctive symbol is the church bell tower that is more than 60 meters high. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the entire Gothenburg cityscape, especially the port terminal. The church is a Nordic building that represents the national romantic style and has become a symbol of Gothenburg. The Gothenburg Cathedral was first built in 1633, and many of the decorations in the church are golden, and there are two beautiful golden winged angels under the altar. The boys' choir of the cathedral is quite famous here, and choirs from many countries have come to the church to communicate. The cathedral is where the citizens of Gothenburg gather, and people come here to pray for the victims after the assassination of Sweden's foreign minister and the Asian tsunami.

The Gothenburg Cathedral was first built in 1633, but it was rebuilt twice after two fires, and now it was rebuilt in 1816.

The boys' choir of the cathedral is quite famous in the local area, and choirs from many countries have come to the church for exchanges.

The cathedral is where the citizens of Gothenburg gather, and people come here to pray for the victims after the assassination of Sweden's foreign minister and the Asian tsunami. As the main church of the city of Gothenburg, it is a must-see for tourists.

There is a small inconspicuous stone in the courtyard of the church, which hardly anyone notices. It is inscribed: "The longest journey is the journey inards".

This sentence, Ye Chao likes it very much, likes it very much, this sentence can especially resonate in Ye Chao's heart.

Although this sentence is not a famous sentence uttered by Ye Chao, he confirms the truth of this sentence with his life......

For Ye Chao, the longest journey in the world is really the journey of the heart......

Interestingly, this philosophical sentence came from Dag Hammarskjöld, and it also refers to a famous historical event.

Dag Hammarskjöld (1905-1961) was a Swedish diplomat and the second Secretary-General of the United Nations who was killed in a plane crash in Africa.

He is the only Secretary-General of the United Nations to die while in office.

After Hammarskjöld's death, the Swedish government held a state funeral for him. For his great contribution to the affairs of the United Nations, the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament awarded him the Nobel Peace Prize one month after his death, thus becoming the first person to be posthumously awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

On 6 October 1998, at the United Nations commemoration of the 50th anniversary of peacekeeping operations, the United Nations awarded Hammarskjöld the Order of Hammarskjöld in recognition of the sacrifices made in United Nations peacekeeping operations.

Hammarskjöld comes from a political family.

His father was the Prime Minister of Sweden and one of his brothers was a cabinet minister.

Before becoming Secretary-General of the United Nations in 1953, Hammarskjöld held various key positions in the bank and government. In 1961, the year of his death, he was trying to mediate a ceasefire between the warring factions in Congo.

His plane crashed in what is now Zambia, but the true cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Therefore, there is speculation that the crash was not an accident and that Hammarskjöld was actually assassinated......

However, no matter how he died, whether he won the Nobel Peace Prize or not, no matter what his merits during his lifetime and his reputation after his death, Ye Chao expressed his sincere admiration and praise for his words.

Mr. Hammarskjöld graduated from high school at the age of 18 and entered Uppsala University, where he majored in French literary history, social philosophy and political economy, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction two years later.

For the next three years, he studied economics at his former university and obtained a bachelor's degree in philosophy in economics at the age of 23. He continued his studies for two years, earning a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1930.

Mr. Hammarskjöld then moved to Stockholm and served as secretary of one of the Government's unemployment committees (1930-1934). At the same time, he wrote a doctoral dissertation in economics entitled "Konjunkturspridningen" (Distribution of business cycles). In 1933, he received his Ph.D. from Stockholm University, where he was appointed assistant professor of political economy.

After a year as secretary of the Riksbank, he was appointed permanent state secretary to the Ministry of Finance at the age of 31. From 1941 to 1948, he also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Bank. The six directors of the Board of Directors are appointed by the Parliament and the Chairman is appointed by the Government.

This is the first time that a single person has held both the positions of chairman of the board of directors and secretary of state at the Ministry of Finance.

At the beginning of 1945, he was appointed adviser to the Cabinet on financial and economic matters, and was responsible, among other things, for arranging and coordinating the government's individual planning for various economic problems arising during and after the war.

Over the years, Mr. Hammarskjöld has played an important role in shaping Sweden's fiscal policy. He spearheaded a series of trade and financial negotiations with other countries---- including the United States and the United Kingdom----.

In 1947, he was sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as secretary of state, responsible for all economic matters. In 1949, he was appointed Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in 1951 he joined the Cabinet as Minister of Carelessness. In fact, he served as deputy foreign minister, specializing in economic issues and various programs of close economic cooperation. 7110
