Chapter 255: The Mysterious Secret Door
"I brought back a lot of candy from Duke Honey, so I might as well put it on a plate. Daisy will be very happy when she sees it in a while. ”
Alan placed a large bag of candy on the table.
Mrs. Harris handed Alan an intricately shaped silverware with his hands and feet.
Alan poured a variety of candies into the fruit bowl and, as if inadvertently, spilled a few of the vampire lollipops he had purchased on top.
Alan didn't miss it, and Aunt Josephine's nose inadvertently twitched slightly.
"What kind of candy is this?" Aunt Josephine actually walked straight over and picked up a vampire lollipop with great interest.
"It's a special candy from Duke Honey, and I think it's interesting. Alan seemed to be careless, but he was paying close attention to Aunt Josephine's movements.
"Well, eating sugar on an empty stomach is not good for your eyes. Ellen, don't let Daisy see these candies just yet. Mrs. Harris directed the prepared food to fly to the table.
Alan did as he said and put the candy away.
"Be careful not to spill it. Aunt Josephine warmly helped him open the pantry and watched as Alan put the candy tray inside.
Alan felt that Aunt Josephine was very suspicious of being a vampire.
Everyone came to the dining room one after another, and Alan noticed that Daisy had not pulled her hair up, but was draped loosely over her shoulders.
"Look at what?" Daisy was upset and her tone wasn't very good.
Alan shrugged, "You look pretty like this." ”
Daisy snorted coldly and sat down at the table.
By the time Emily had finished her last sip of milk, everyone had finished their breakfast.
"Today we're going to buy items for the celebration of Christmas, and who of you would like to go?" said Mrs. Harris with a smile.
"I, I!" the little sister Emily immediately responded.
Mrs. Harris lovingly stroked her little daughter's soft blonde hair and nodded in agreement.
Lunn said he still had some material to deal with at the Ministry of Magic. Albert mysteriously said that he had a mission.
Mr. Harris and the others all left the manor, leaving only Alan and Daisy.
It's not that Daisy doesn't want to go shopping, but she doesn't want to go out at all, so she doesn't want to go out without dressing up in the mirror.
She kept telling Mrs. Harris to bring her back a mirror.
Allen's mind is on this mysterious manor, which is much more fun than going out shopping.
"What are we going to do?" said Daisy, leaning against the raised window on the second floor, as she watched Mr. Harris and their car drift away.
"Perhaps, we can explore this estate. Alan suggested.
If his guess is true, this is a vampire's manor, then in the course of the expedition, he needs a magic wand.
"How?" said Daisy.
Since you can't go out shopping, exploring a huge, mysterious estate sounds like a lot of fun.
"I learned a magic in Ravenclaw—" Alan paused, picking up Daisy's wand to the side.
Daisy looked at Alan with interest and didn't stop her.
"Detect the secret door!" Alan said softly.
Strings of green light erupted from his wand, converging in an increasing fan-shaped ripple in front of Allen, somewhat similar to the signal light waves emitted by radar.
These light waves rolled in layers, surrounding Allen, like the light emitted by a flashlight, appearing in front of Allen in a cone.
"I don't see how the spell works. Daisy thought that Allen's face looked a little funny under the reflection of this green light wave.
"Follow me. Alan didn't explain much, focused on maintaining the sustainable spell, and set off to walk out the door.
The green light wave continued to follow Allen's movements.
They continued to walk north along the corridor.
Daisy felt that Allen's serious expression at this time was very similar to Lunen, but compared to Lunen, there was more of an indescribable charm.
Daisy suddenly found that the closer she got to the north, the more the green cone wave in front of Eren vibrated and the brightness gradually increased, and Alan's expression became more and more excited.
They walked up to an extremely large floor-to-ceiling bay window.
The windows are surrounded by massive, rectilinear columns.
As Eren approached, waves of light converged on the wall, revealing the shape of a door.
"A secret door!" Daisy exclaimed excitedly.
Alan and Daisy stared at the trail of the door.
"I see!" Alan said suddenly.
Daisy turned to look at him.
"This secret door should lead to a vertical mezzanine, which runs through the first floor, one and a half floors, and the second floor. Alan explained.
"You mean, there's a hidden layer of space in the wall between the first and second floors?" Daisy thought for a moment, understanding what Eren meant.
"It's a brilliant design, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows that look as large on the wall from the outside as large as the normal windows of a normal building. ”
Alan looked at the sides again, "The columns have straight lines that extend to the ceiling and meet at a point on top of them, and these lines give the impression that the vertical height of the whole building is much greater than the actual height. ”
Alan's gaze slid to the bay window.
"And this bay window, which looks like a cozy design, actually hides the vertical mezzanine of the north wall. The secret door we found leads to this mezzanine!"
"Very well, Alan, now, let's see the secret behind this door!" Daisy said, brushing the blonde hair from her face to the back of her head.
She walked over, and she tried to reach out, fumbling for the doorknob that the light wave had revealed, trying to pull the hidden door open.
Not all of them have such courage.
Allen guesses that in the face of an unknown door, some people may hesitate, some people may not be in such a hurry to open a mysterious secret door, and some people may even feel a little scared.
But Daisy won't.
Neither she nor Alan are cowards, and instead of being afraid of the unknown, they have an interest in exploring the mystery.
"I touched it!" Daisy shouted.
The invisible doorknob was cold in her hand, and she tried to turn it, pulling the secret door open.
The door moves slowly.
The door was heavy, and the rusty hinges creaked weirdly as Daisy pulled it open.
Then, Alan and Daisy stood tightly together, leaning out from the doorway and peering inside.
Alan had expected a room inside, such as a mysterious storage room, but what they saw wasn't that.
Alan narrowed his eyes and stared at the darkness and found himself in front of him a tunnel.
A pitch-black tunnel. 8)
