Chapter 505: From Culture to Perfection

In award-winning campaigns and a series of marketing campaigns, Absolut continues to innovate and deliver Absolut's core values of purity, simplicity and perfection to consumers. In 1999, Absolut Vodka was included in the list of the top 10 ads of the century by Advertising Age.

Each bottle of Absolut Vodka is made in the small town of Ahus in southern Sweden. Winter wheat, which is a specialty there, gives Absolut Vodka its high-quality, creamy grain character.

Centuries of experience have proven that Absolut Vodka's solid winter wheat makes a great vodka.

Absolut Vodka is brewed using a continuous distillation method. This method was pioneered in Sweden in 1879 by Lars Olsson Smith, the "King of Vodka". The water used for the brewing process is pure water from deep wells.

It is by using a single origin, local ingredient that allows V&S Absolut Spirits to have complete control over all aspects of production, ensuring that every drop of the spirit meets the absolute highest quality standards.

All flavors of Absolut Vodka are made from a blend of vodka and all-natural ingredients, with no added sugar.

Today, the Absolut Vodka family has an equally premium range of products, including Absolut Vodka, Absolut PEPPAR, Absolut CITRON, Absolut KURANT, Absolut MANDRIN, Absolut Vanilia, Absolut RASPBERR, and Absolut ruby red.

Absolut Vodka, introduced in 1979, is rich in taste and rich in grain smoothness.

Introduced in 1986, Absolut PEPPAR is a mix of fragrant and slightly spicy. It combines the spicy ingredients of chili peppers with a special jalapeño flavor.

Launched in 1988, Absolut CITRON is based on orange fruits, with lemon as the main flavor and other citrus flavours to give Absolut CITRON a richer flavour – a unique lemon flavour with a hint of sweetness of lime.

Launched in 1992, Absolut Kurant is made from blackcurrants (a member of the grape family). It was a fragrant, dark berry that grew up to 6 feet tall in the bushes. Absolut KURANT with a strong blackcurrant flavor has a sweet, sour and refreshing taste.

Launched in 1999, Absolut Mandrin is derived from citrus plants. In order to make it more plump, other orange-flavored fruits are also added, which is slightly sweet and rich.

Launched in 2003, Absolut Vodka (vanilla flavored) Absolut Vanilia is made from natural vanilla. For a rich, creamy taste, whole vanilla is used. As a result, Absolut Vanilia's unique flavour is also mixed with hints of creamy fruit and dark chocolate.

Launched in 2004, Absolut Raspberri uses fresh, juicy raspberry ripe fruit with a rich, rich wild fruit flavour.

In 2006, Absolut Ruby Red was launched, which has a mild taste, moist and juicy like fresh grapefruit, and has a fragrant smell.

ABSOLUT VODKA Bling-bling, launched in 2006, Absolut Vodka (Gold Armor), has an original interior, and the "pompous style" has gradually developed into a new mass fashion trend through the leadership of niche hipsters. During the winter 2006 campaign, ABSOLUT Vodka was dressed in a dazzling "shell", also known as the 2006 Christmas Edition.

From "Culture" to "Perfection......

Carillon appointed advertising to TBWA Advertising Agency. The initial approach to creating awareness and popularity for the brand was to build on 400 years of Swedish heritage with its products. This kind of ad is very similar to other alcohol ads in the United States, especially for sexy women, which is their preferred lifestyle intention.

However, TBWA's creative director, GeoffHayes, felt something was missing. The creative of the ad was too traditional, too predictable, and there was nothing to prove that the product was a strong brand.

In order for a brand to be successful, advertising cannot follow the crowd, and must break through the traditional model of general wine advertising; It is not enough to only render the quality of the product itself, it is necessary to create its added value and shape the absolute brand into a fashionable image that everyone wants to drink.

Why not think about using the uniqueness of the name and the beginning of the bottle to express quality and fashion? TBWA's ad production team decided to steer clear of "Sweden"

(Sweden) and attack the double meaning of the word "ABSOLUT". The Swedish word "absolute" is the brand name, and the English word "absolute" means absolute, full and complete. Three days before Carillon's presentation, GeoffHayes came up with a solution: TBWA's advertising concept was to reveal what differentiates Absolut from other brands on the market.

The concept also aims to promote Absolut as a brand that people are passionate about and make it a symbol of success and class.

THE CREATIVE ESSENTIALS OF PRINT ADS ARE CENTERED AROUND A CLOSE-UP OF THE WEIRD BOTTLE, WITH A TWO-WORD LINE BELOW IT, STARTING WITH "ABSOLUT" AND FOLLOWED BY A WORD THAT INDICATES QUALITY, SUCH AS "PERFECT" OR "CLARIFYING".

There is no need to tell the story of any product.

The uniqueness of the product is accurately reflected by the uniqueness generated by the advertisement. Putting the bottle in the center as the protagonist is certainly likely to attract customers, but more importantly, the visually relevant headline wording and the whimsy that it evokes give the ad its charm and mystery.

1. Absolute product - take the wine bottle as a close-up. For example, the first advertisement produced by TBWA was to add a halo to the bottle, with the title "Absolute Perfection" below. The second ad added a pair of wings to the bottle and was titled "Absolute Paradise", which was unexpectedly published in the New York Times opposite the obituary page, which made everyone laugh.

2. Absolute items - twist or modify various items into the shape of wine bottles. For example, on the slopes of a ski resort, from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the mountain, a huge bottle of wine is slid out of the shape of a bottle, titled "Absolute Peak", which means that the quality of the wine is superb.

3. Absolute City - In 1987, when Absolut vodka was selling well in California, the TBWA team made a bottle-shaped swimming pool titled "Absolute Los Angeles" to thank California for its love for this wine.

Unexpectedly, many cities in the United States have asked for a close-up ad of the city. As a result, there are masterpieces such as "Absolute Seattle" and "Absolute Miami".

4. Absolute's Art - Pop art master Andy Warhol took the lead in painting Absolut's wine bottle and made it into an advertisement, creating a new image for Absolut overnight. Since then, more than 300 artists have signed contracts with Carillon importers to paint.

5. Absolute program; Absolutely amazing - in order to create the Christmas atmosphere, the print advertisement of the absolute brand has hidden mysteries, or a pair of gloves, a pair of silk pants, or a chip that constantly celebrates the festival in the four Chinese.

6. Absolute flavor - In addition to pure vodka with blue as the standard color, the absolute brand also has a variety of flavors such as citrus and chili. BTWA did everything they could, such as twisting an orange peel into the shape of a wine bottle with the title "Absolutely Appealing".
