Chapter 29 Examinations
"Great!"
Suddenly jumped up from the front of the computer screen and hugged Tian Lu hard, Ye Lan kept shouting: "Tian Lu, you are really amazing!" β
"How many points?"
Qian Lele and Feng Lin on the side hurriedly leaned over, widened their eyes and took a closer look, and immediately turned their heads, looking at Tian Lu's gaze suddenly became extremely weird.
"You're a monster γγγγγγ"
Under the strong pressure of the shock in his heart, Qian Lele muttered in a low voice.
Feng Lin reacted quickly, sighed, walked over and patted Tian Lu on the shoulder and said, "Brother, brother I will never compare with you in the future, whether it is in my mouth or in my heart!" β
"Is that an exaggeration?"
Regarding the performance of the three people, Tian Lu could only shake his head with laughter and laughter, and he also leaned over to the computer screen.
Ninety-nine points!
"Well, it's not bad!"
Tian Lu nodded and said. He was very satisfied with such a high score on his first attack.
Qian Lele's big eyes suddenly bulged: "Not bad?" Just not bad? Do you know what 99 points mean? β
"What does that mean?" Tian Lu asked with a casual smile.
Seeing Tian Lu's indifferent look, Qian Lele suddenly went crazy: "It means that when you match in the future, your step1 score will not be an excuse for any hospital to reject you!" β
"Ohγγγγγγ"
He smiled again and nodded.
"You γγγγγγ"
Qian Lele couldn't say anything anymore, she sat back in the chair weakly, but a pair of big eyes flickered, staring at Tian Lu angrily. In her eyes, Tian Lu is like an old hat with a treasure but no self-awareness, and she doesn't understand the meaning of this score at all.
"No! I'm going back to reading! β
Qian Lele, who was deeply stimulated, suddenly jumped up and ran out of the boys' dormitory in a hurry.
The remaining three looked at each other, Ye Lan smiled, and nodded: "Lele is right, I also went to read." β
So Ye Lan also left, leaving Feng Lin and Tian Lu alone.
The two looked at each other and were stunned for a while, Feng Lin finally couldn't bear it anymore, and shook his head and ran out to self-study.
The room suddenly became deserted, and the smile on Tian Lu's face gradually faded, sitting in front of the computer, looking at the bright red numbers, and gradually falling into deep thought.
In the first session of the USMLE exam, in the basic medical section, Tian Lu scored 99 points.
In fact, the exam is divided into three steps and four sessions. Step1, step2CK, step2CS, and step3.
STEP1: Basic Sciences, including more than 10 subjects such as anatomy, behavioral science, biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, pathology and pharmacology.
Step2:Clinical
Sciences includes two parts: step2CK (clinical knowledge) and step2CS (clinical skills).
Step2CK (Clinical Knowledge), the scope is Maternal and Pediatric Medicine and Psychiatry. Both this and step1 are computer-based tests, which are mainly based on the basics. These two steps have test centers in three first-tier cities, so they can be carried out in China.
Step2CS (Clinical Skills) is a complete set of procedures for on-site consultation, physical examination and diagnosis of 12 standardized patients. As for the final step3, it can only be carried out on the basis of passing all the former, and it is a comprehensive computer-based test. These two can only be taken in a designated place in the United States. Only after passing all the exams does it mean that you are eligible for residency training.
Of course, it's one thing to be qualified, it's another to be able to go.
Residency training in the United States must be applied for by oneself, and most of the students of local medical schools can get a position, but the probability of foreign candidates getting the opportunity is only about 50%! And this 50% share must meet a series of conditions such as getting a high score, excellent interview, excellent English, etc.
Just over a month ago during the summer vacation, Tian Lu went to Changhai to take the STEP1 exam.
In order to verify his learning results, and also to explore the path for Ye Lan and Qian Lele, Tian Lu resolutely signed up. The complexity of the registration procedures is not mentioned for the time being, but the registration fee, travel fee and accommodation fee will cost thousands of oceans, which really makes Tian Lu feel distressed.
It's just that for this extremely excellent score, Tian Lu is far from being surprised: with the plug-in of the system, and with the help of the input and annotation functions, Tian Lu has entered almost all the review materials and question banks, and it is strange that he can't get a high score!
However, Tian Lu's mood at the moment not only did not have a trace of joy, but felt extremely heavy.
Now, it's the first semester of my senior year.
For almost ten months, he has only just completed a quarter of the courses in medical fundamentals and medical experiments!
Tian Lu's efforts have not decreased in the slightest, and Ye Lan's girlfriend has not taken up too much of his time, but the progress of this study is still slow to make him panic!
It's just too hard.
Originally, the medical courses learned in reality were quite easy, and more needed to be memorized, so Tian Lu thought that he would learn faster than the basic knowledge, but he didn't expect the fact to be the opposite: not to mention that he hadn't seen the clinical medicine course, even the content of basic medicine, he had only just completed half of it!
The connection between subjects is so close!
For example, in pathophysiology, you must first learn anatomy, physiology, pathology, molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry and other subjects, and then pharmacology, not to mention medical subjects such as physiology and pathology, even basic subjects such as chemistry, mathematics and biology are also extremely important. Tian Lu kept stopping and going back to review what he had learned earlier.
It wasn't until this time that he realized that it took more than two years to complete the four-year course for future medical students, and the foundation was so unsolid!
Now that things are like this, Tian Lu certainly won't regret anything, and the top priority in front of him now is how to choose the next path.
The first path is naturally to continue according to the original plan.
Complete the courses of medical foundation and medical experiment step by step, and then start the two sub-systems of clinical diagnosis and clinical operation. In this way, his foundation will be completely consolidated, and Tian Lu also has a hunch: although he has only completed half of the basic medicine course in ten months, he will definitely not spend so much time on the remaining half!
In fact, this is not a hunch at all, the front is too slow because he does not know enough about the medical system, and he has to turn his head to review the basics, and the back is familiar with the road, it will definitely be faster and faster.
And in the later clinical part, Tian Lu is more confident.
If the previous medical foundation is the foundation, and the interconnectedness and mutual influence require Tian Lu to spend a lot of time thinking and exploring, the clinical part pays more attention to the application and the expansion of the basic part. As long as the foundation of the previous content is laid, it is more important to practice and apply what has been learned in the previous content. It's like a good chef, after he has mastered the most basic skills such as how to master the heat and how to match the flavor of various spices, he can even make eight or nine dishes just by looking at the recipeγγγγγγ
But even so, it's a fool's dream to want to complete it before the internship, and the senior year is about to enter the internship at the end, plus there are all kinds of miscellaneous graduation years, it can be said that Tian Lu has no confidence that he can do it before graduation!
The second way is to pick up and learn, and first eat the content you need.
After graduation, whether you go abroad or stay, you must choose your own professional direction, such as neurosurgery, such as endocrinology, and for future needs, Tian Lu can complete this part of the study first. And in addition to some basic subjects, Tianlu can be narrowed down to a certain extent first. For example, if you take the USMLE, you only need to get the content you need to master first, and then focus on your own specialty, and as for the rest, you can slowly overcome it when you do residency training.
The two can be said to have their own pros and cons, and for a while, Tian Lu didn't know how to choose, and fell into a dilemmaγγγγγγ
