The reason why I wanted to stay in Dakar for a day mainly came from the memories of my past life.

The "westernmost point of Africa" is actually a triangular beach about 50 meters long, with the tip deep into the Atlantic Ocean. This small sandy beach is the westernmost point of the African continent.

Next to this, there was also a six-hole golf course, but when the Grandmaster and the others came, there was no one playing in it.

About two kilometres outside the westernmost tip of Africa is the Joseph Leopold Saidar Sandel International Airport in Dakar.

In previous decades, the airport was the largest international airport in Dakar and one of the largest in West Africa.

But the airport is now starting to move operations outside the city, as the Senegalese government has spent 560 million euros on a new Blaise Diagne international airport, 30 kilometres east of Dakar.

The opening of the new airport will greatly ease the situation at the Sedar Sandel International Airport in the heart of the city, and will also make the urban layout of Dakar more rational.

The two drove south along the coastal road in Dakar, gradually entering the real city center.

The city of Dakar is very green, and the buildings on the street are full of French architectural style, most of which are small buildings of two or three floors. After all, this beautiful city was first colonized by the French.

The city of Dakar is beautiful, but there is one thing that makes the grandmaster very unhappy, and that is that there are no beaches in the whole of Dakar where you can go to the sea......

In fact, Dakar, the westernmost city in Africa, really doesn't have beautiful beaches, and the beaches here are all reefs, which makes this beautiful coastal city lack the joy of playing in the water.

Follow the coastal road to Cape Verde, the southernmost point of the city, and look up from the blue sea to see the island of Gorée three kilometers away.

The island is very small, measuring only 820 meters long from north to south and 280 meters wide from east to west. However, this miniature island is a world-famous tourist attraction.

In the 15th century, Europeans began their conquest of the world, and this island was the first Portuguese colony in West Africa. Later, the island was occupied by the French, who turned it into an important trading post for black slaves in the Atlantic.

Now, Senegal has been independent for decades, and this small island, which is full of the blood and sweat of Senegal's black brothers and sisters, has also been opened up as a tourist attraction.

I took the ferry to the island, and a hundred meters north of the pier where I landed on the island was the fortress of Estére, which held the northern end of the island of Goré, and there was now a circular battery in that position.

There is one of the only surviving slave houses on the island, but it is now a museum. The slave house was divided into two floors, the ground floor was made of rock, like a cave, divided into many small rooms for the slaves, and the top floor was a wooden structure, and the European-style rooms were spacious and bright, with all kinds of daily necessities, and were lived by slave traders. The door of the slave house was directly connected to the sea, and when the slaves were traded, they were carried directly onto ships and transported out to sea.

Because the island was surrounded by rough seas, even if the slaves escaped, they could not leave, so the slave traders immediately sent the blacks to the island and locked them up, and in the heyday of the slave trade, this small island had more than 30 slave trading stations.

The island is so small that two people walked around it for more than an hour and went around the whole island, eating some local specialties on the island before returning to Dakar by boat.

At noon, they took a lunch break at the hotel for more than an hour, and in the afternoon, the two of them drove out of the city.

Now that he has spent the day in Dakar, the Grandmaster said that he should also take a look at Paris in his previous life, the real end of the Dakar Rally, located northwest of Dakar, on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.

This lake, which is less than 500 meters away from the Atlantic Ocean, is a salt water lake, and the most special thing is the color of the lake, because the lake grows a halophilic microorganism, which produces a beautiful pink like a rose when exposed to the sun, and the best time to see it is from 3 p.m. to before sunset.

It's just that it's still early, so you'll have to wait a while to see this extremely beautiful view.

Lake Rose is a typical coastal lagoon that was formed when the original sea water was cut off.

The area of Rose Lake used to be quite small, but the sun here was too irritable, so under the sun's exposure, the lake water continued to evaporate, and the lake area continued to shrink, resulting in higher and higher mineral salt content in the water.

Now, the salt content of Rose Lake has reached an unbelievable level. Even if you lie flat on the surface of the lake, you will not sink, just like the Dead Sea.

Every day, many local residents collect salt in the lake, and the men are responsible for digging the salt in the lake, and the women are responsible for drying the salt at the lake, packing it, and selling it to the merchants. When they came here, they saw a lot of black brothers digging for salt by the lake.

There are many rocks on the beach of Rose Lake, which is not easy to walk, so under the guidance of the locals, the grandmaster and Fang Zhengying rented a go-kart and ran around the lake along the beach for a week, which was quite enjoyable.

Renting this kind of go-kart for an hour is 25 Chinese yuan, which is not a lot for the grandmaster at all, and it is also an excellent spice for two people to be able to play go-kart during the tense rally.

In its previous life, this beautiful lake was the finish line of the world's toughest rally, the Paris Dakar Rally, and every January, participants from all over the world who have crossed the Mediterranean Sea and crossed the Sahara Desert celebrate their victory in this beautiful and tranquil lake.

Although the Grandmaster had not participated in the Paris Dakar Rally in his previous life, in this life, no one could stop him from silently celebrating here in this form, in the deepest part of his heart.
