Chapter 243: Deception

The first product of the Dharma will be divided into causes

That's what I heard the Buddha say. At that time, the Buddha Shakyamuni lived there with 1,250 monks in the garden of solitude in the Buddha tree of the kingdom of Sawei. At that time, when the Lord arrived, he wore Dharma robes and held a food bowl when he arrived, and entered the capital of the Shewei Kingdom. After begging for food in the city, he returned to his lodgings. After eating, put away the robes and bowls, wash the feet, lay out the seat cushions, and start meditating.

The second product is now open to ask for points

At this time, the elder named Subodhi stood up from his seat among the monks, his right shoulder was exposed, his right knee was on the ground, he closed his palms and said to the Buddha very respectfully: "O world-honored one, you ask the bodhisattvas to guard their minds and to warn themselves often. World-honored one, if those good men and women also want to cultivate the supreme mind of equality and enlightenment and become a Buddha, then how do you say that we can keep our minds and eliminate the interference of evil thoughts?" The Buddha replied, "Yes, yes, that's a good question!" Subodhi, as you said, the Buddha asks the bodhisattvas to take good care of their minds and to warn themselves often. Now you listen carefully, I'll sue you. Good men and women who want to cultivate the supreme and egalitarian consciousness and become Buddhas should guard their minds like this and eliminate the interference of evil thoughts like this. Subodhi said, "I'm listening carefully, World-Honored One, and I'd love to hear you go on." ”

The third Mahayana is divided

The Buddha said to Subodhi: "Bodhisattvas, great bodhisattvas, should eliminate the interference of evil thoughts like this. A qiē living thing, such as oviparous, viviparous, rotting out of damp places, other substances that are transfigured, tangible, intangible, thoughtful, thoughtless, undistracted, excluded from distracting thoughts, I have caused them to perish and enter the state of nirvana. Although I have destroyed immeasurable, innumerable, boundless beings, in essence I have not destroyed them. "Bodhi, if a bodhisattva has the appearance of self, the appearance of others, the appearance of sentient beings, the appearance of immortality, then he is not a true bodhisattva. ”

Fourth, there is no dwelling point for the best deeds

"Besides, Subodhi, bodhisattvas practicing the Dharma should be free from attachment and without generosity. That is to say, to give away from the aspect of giving, not to be attached to the giving of sounds, aromas, tastes, touches, consciousness. Subodhi, bodhisattvas should give in this way, and not be attached to the generosity of appearances. "What is the reason for this?" "If the Bodhisattva ∝dǐng∝diǎn∝ Xiao ∝ says, .↓.o∷s_(); If he does not attach himself to appearances and generosity, he will receive an inconceivable amount of merit. Subodhi, what do you think? How big is the Eastern Void alone? Can you think about it?" "Unthinkable, World-Honored One. "Subodhi, South, West, North, Above, Below, the Void is vast, can you imagine how big it is?" "Unthinkable, World-Honored One. "Subodhi, a bodhisattva is not attached to appearances and gives alms, and his merit is inconceivably great. Subodhi, a bodhisattva who has just developed bodhichitta can only practice according to the method I have taught you. ”

The fifth product is as it is reasonable

"Subodhi, do you think you can see the Buddha in the form of a Buddha?" "No, World-Honored One. You can't come to see each other in person. "Why?" "Because the body that the Buddha spoke of is also the non-body form." The Buddha told sù subodhi: "All the forms and appearances of a qiē are false and unreal." If you can look at all kinds of physical forms as non-physical appearances, then you will see the Dharmakaya of Nyorai. ”

The sixth product is faithful

Subodhi said to the Buddha, "World-honored One, if sentient beings hear what the Buddha just said, then can they still believe in the Buddha?" After I pass away, in 500 years, there will be people who will be able to understand what I just said, and they will think that it is true and credible. You should know that these people do not cultivate their good nature from one Buddha, two Buddhas, or three, four, or five Buddhas, but from countless Buddhas, and when they hear what I have just said, they will have an ethereal and pure belief in a single thought. Subodhi, I can see all of them, and these sentient beings can attain immeasurable merit. "Why?" "These people no longer have the four wrong ideas of self, of people, of sentient beings, and of long-lived beings, and they don't have any Dharma appearances in their minds, and they don't have any non-Dharma appearances, and they don't have any thoughts. "What is the reason for that?" "If these people have an appearance in their mind, they will be attached to the appearance of themselves, to the appearance of others, to the appearance of sentient beings, to the appearance of long-lived beings, and if they have the appearance of the Dharma in their minds, they will also be attached to the appearance of self, to others, to sentient beings, to the appearance of long-lived beings. "Why is that?" "If you don't have the appearance of the Dharma in your mind, you will be attached to yourself, others, sentient beings, and long-lived beings. Therefore, we should not be obsessed with the appearance of the Dharma, nor should we be attached to the appearance of the Dharma, and we should not have any thoughts. For this reason, I often say that you, bhikshus, should know the Dharma I am talking about, just like a raft crossing a river, and you don't have to worry about it when you cross the river and go ashore. We should not be attached to the Dharma like this, let alone the non-Dharma!"

The seventh product has nothing to say

"Subodhi, let me ask you again, have I attained supreme equality and attained enlightenment and become a Buddha? Have I spoken of the Dharma?" Subodhi said, "According to my understanding of what the Buddha meant, there is no supreme and enlightening Dharma of great wisdom, and you have not told us any fixed Dharma. "Why do you say that?" "The Fa you are talking about cannot be fixed or expressed in words, and it is neither the Fa nor the law. "Why is this so?" "Because all the sages believe that there is no fixed Dharma, only the Dharma that each person understands differently and differently. ”

The eighth product is born according to law

"Subodhi, think again! If someone were to give alms to the Seven Jewels of the Three Great Worlds, would that person receive a lot of merit?" Subodhi replied, "Quite a lot, World-Honored One." "What is the reason?" "Because this merit is a merit of generosity, not the merit of wisdom of one's own nature." "That's why I say that the person can get a lot of merit, but it's just a phase, not a merit. If there are still people who can understand the Diamond Sutra that I am talking about, practice it with their hearts, and even recite the four verses repeatedly, etc., to explain the Dharma to others, then they will receive more merit than those who give the Seven Jewels. "What is the reason for this?" "Subodhi, the one qiē Buddha, and the supreme and enlightened wisdom of all Buddhas, came out of the sutras I preached. Subodhi, the so-called Dharma, that is, there is no Dharma. ”

The ninth product has no phase

"Subodhi, let me ask you again, can the sage of the first fruit of Sudra Huan think that he has cultivated the fruit of Sudra Huan?" Su Bodhi said, "No, World-Honored One. "Why?" "Because the fruit position of Sudra Huan is called the Stream, but there is no Flow, he is not confused by the sight, the sound, the fragrance, the taste, the touch, the Dharma, this is the name of the Sudra Huan, and there is no Sudra. ”

Because the fruit position of Sudra Huan is called the flow of flow, but there is no entry, he is not confused by the sight, sound, fragrance, taste, touch, and dharma, this is the name of Sudra Huan, and there is no Sudra 66 (to be continued. )
