Chapter 493: A Real Man Takes Charge

In 1174, after the expiration of the period of mourning for Wang Chongyang, Qiu Chuji successively practiced in Baoji Qiangxi in Shaanxi Province and Longmen Mountain in Longzhou for more than ten years, and his reputation has grown since then. In the winter of 1186, he returned to Zhongnan Mountain to preside over the affairs of the "Ancestral Garden" (now Chongyang Wanshou Palace).

In the spring of the 28th year of Jin Shizong's reign (1188), he was invited by Jin Shizong's edict to go to the central capital to meet, and was appointed to preside over the Wanchun Festival Jiao affair, and stayed in the official nunnery, during which he was summoned by Jin Shizong three times. After staying in Zhongdu for half a year, he received a holy decree agreeing to return in the autumn of that year, and in the spring of 1189, he returned to the ancestral court of Zhongnan Mountain.

In the winter of 1191, due to Jin Zhangzong's restrictions on Quanzhendao's activities in Shaanxi, Qiu Chuji was forced to lead some of his disciples back to his hometown Qixia. Later, he expanded the old mansion into a virtual temple and continued to promote Taoism.

In 1203, Liu Chuxuan died, and Qiu Chuji became the fifth head of the Quanzhen Dao. During his twenty-four years as a teacher, he actively exerted his influence on Zzhi and society, bringing the development of the Quanzhen Tao into a period of prosperity.

Between 1203 and 1219, he preached in Penglai, Zhiyang, Yexian, Beihai, and Jiaoxi in Shandong. In 1214, when Yang An'er revolted in Shandong, the Jin Dynasty's concubine Ma Du Wei Sanchao asked Qiu Chuji to help appease the rebellious people, and with Qiu's prestige, Dengzhou and Laizhou and other places quickly restored calm; Between 1216 and 1219, the governments of the Southern Song Dynasty and the Jin Dynasty repeatedly asked Qiu to go to the court, but he did not go.

Ruthless, but the emperor's family. This ancient precept is applicable to the vast majority of ancient emperors, but it is absurd to apply it to the relationship between Genghis Khan and Qiu Chuji!

All emperors have a common pursuit, that is, immortality. Genghis Khan was also like this in his later years. Taoism has a long history in China, and the Taoist "longevity technique" is widely spread among the people. In the third year of Jin Xingding (1219), Genghis Khan was on his way to the west, and he heard Liu Zhonglu, a Hanchen beside him, say that Qiu Chuji's magic skills were superb and his Taoism was far-reaching, so he had the idea of meeting Qiu Chuji. Genghis Khan and Qiu Jiji

Qiu Chuji was born in the eighth year of Emperor Jin Xizong (1148), and was a native of Qixia, Dengzhou, Shandong. At that time, the Jin Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty were bounded by the Huai River. In terms of birthplace, Qiu Chuji is a native of the Jin Dynasty. Qiu Chuji became a monk at the age of 19 and worshiped the Quanzhen Taoist leader Wang Chongyang. Wang Chongyang named him Chuji, the word is dense, and the name is Changchunzi. Danyangzi Ma Yu, Changzhenzi Tan Chuduan, Changsheng son Liu Chuxuan, Changchun Ziqiu Chuji, Yuyangzi Wang Chuyi, Guangning Zihao Datong, and Qingjing Sanren Sun Buer (Ma Yu's wife) are collectively known as the "Seven Sons of Quanzhen". In Jin Yong's martial arts "The Legend of the Condor Heroes", the Tiangang Big Dipper Seven Star Array of the Seven Sons of Quanzhen is powerful in the world.

In 1217, Qiu Chuji took over as the fifth head of the Quanzhen Dao, and the Quanzhen Dao entered its heyday. At this time, there was Song in the south, Jin in the Central Plains and Northeast, and Xia in the west. Three years later, Genghis Khan unified the steppe and established the Mongol Empire, and the land of China changed from the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" to the "Romance of the Four Kingdoms". Folklore has it that Qiu Chuji has the art of immortality, and his age is 300 years old. Among the "Four Kingdoms", there were 3 emperors who successively invited Qiu Chuji, first of all, Jin Xuanzong, who invited Qiu Chuji to Bianliang (the capital of the Jin Dynasty, now Kaifeng, Henan); the second was Song Ningzong, who invited Qiu to Lin'an (the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, now Hangzhou); The third was Genghis Khan, who asked Qiu to come to the steppe. Qiu Chuji thought that the Jin Dynasty had "unkind evil" and the Southern Song Dynasty had "the crime of dereliction of government", but he rejected them, and Qiu Chuji chose Genghis Khan.

In the fifth month of the lunar calendar in 1219, Genghis Khan sent Liu Zhonglu to Shandong to invite Qiu to take the opportunity. Liu Zhonglu was originally a native of Jin, and the Mongol army invaded Yanjing (present-day Beijing) and soon surrendered to Mongolia. He was able to make a Ming Di, was proficient in medicine, and was appreciated by Genghis Khan, and became Genghis Khan's close attendant. Liu Zhonglu traveled for 7 months, and went to Haotian Temple in Laizhou, Shandong Province in December of the lunar calendar.

"Journey to the West in Changchun" is a diary written by Li Zhichang, a disciple of Qiu Chuji, following Qiu Chuji's westward journey, which was written in 1228 and consists of two volumes. In the first volume, the pilot and apprentice traveled west to the palace of Genghis Khan in Baluwan on the northwest slope of the Great Snow Mountain (present-day Hindu Kush Mountain in Afghanistan), and then returned to the famous city of Samarkand (present-day Uzbekistan) in Central Asia. The next volume records the process of Qiu Chuji's sermon and the itinerary of returning to the east. This book not only records the geography of the mountains and rivers and the customs and customs that Qiu Chuji and his entourage saw along the way, but also records the life of Qiu Chuji and the poems on the way. In addition, the book also includes a list of Genghis Khan's edicts and four holy decrees.

"Journey to the West in Changchun" contains: "Emperor Genghis Khan sent his courtier Liu Zhonglu County to win the gold medal of the tiger's head, and the text said: If I go in person, act cheaply." and the 20th generation of the Mongols, preaching the edict and urging it. Genghis Khan sent his close minister Liu Zhonglu to carry a tiger head gold medal, which was engraved with the words "If I walk in person, act cheaply". Liu Zhonglu was accompanied by 20 Mongol soldiers, and Liu Zhonglu conveyed Genghis Khan's holy decree and earnestly invited Qiu Chuji to come to the grassland.

On the eighteenth day of the first month of 1220, the 73-year-old Qiu Chuji took 18 disciples, including Zhao Daojian, Yin Zhiping, Xia Zhicheng, Wang Zhiming, and Li Zhichang, to leave Haotianguan and arrive in Beijing on the 22nd day of the second month of the lunar calendar. Although Genghis Khan did not live in Beijing, the Mongol generals in Beijing knew that Genghis Khan had conquered Khorezm in June 1219. Qiu Chuji felt that he was old and thousands of miles away, and he wanted to ask Genghis Khan to come to Beijing to meet. So, he wrote a letter to Genghis Khan.

Qiu Chuji stayed in Beijing for nearly 8 months, and in the tenth month of the lunar calendar in 1220, Qiu Chuji received a reply from Genghis Khan. Genghis Khan's letter wrote: "Yunxuan is born in Penglai, and cranes can swim in Tianzhu. Daruma Dongmai, Yuan Yin Law to transmit the heart; The old family went west, or turned into a beard. Although Gu Chuan's road is wide, it is not far away to see a few sticks. The answer to the chapter can be clear. Genghis Khan was both polite and flattering, and he said, since your immortal drive has sailed out of Penglai, you can still reach Tianzhu in the Western Regions. When Bodhidharma came to the east, he founded the method of Zen Buddhism, and his soul was transcended; Lao Tzu traveled westward, educated the Hu people in the West, and achieved positive results in his own cultivation. Although I am far away from you, for an immortal like you, it is nothing to measure it with a few strokes with a cane. Replying to your letter in this way is enough to show that I am sincere to you. At the same time, Genghis Khan ordered Liu Zhonglu: "There is no real person who is hungry and tired, but he can be supported to come slowly."

Before Genghis Khan met Qiu Chuji for the first time, he had always referred to him as a "real person". Since the second meeting, Qiu Chuji has been called a "fairy", and since then, it has not changed.
