013 Basilisk at school

Lawrence led Harry downstairs, and Harry noticed that they were running in the direction of the dungeon.

"We...... Don't look for ...... Wheat...... Professor Ge?" Harry gasped as he asked, Lawrence's pace was so fast and fast that he could barely keep up with all his might,

"No, let's go find Snape," Lawrence replied, pushing the door open without knocking, "here it is."

"You should knock on the door first? Mr. Rowander...... And you, Potter." Snape stared at the two uninvited guests,

"There's no time for that, Dunbury wants me to trust you......" Lawrence gasped slightly, "I mean, the ...... of the Chamber of Secrets Basilisk ......"

"I know the Chamber of Secrets, but the basilisk?" Snape squinted and asked, Lawrence felt something was wrong, but Snape didn't wait for him to ask, he continued, "But I think I know what I have to do."

"Call—" Snape raised his wand and was about to recite the incantation, when there was a sudden pause, Lawrence noticing his vague glance at Harry, he put away his wand, took a handful of shiny powder from the small box next to him, and tossed them towards the fireplace, "Professor McGonagall, my office, emergency."

The flames of the fireplace slammed upward, and Professor McGonagall stepped out of the fireplace, her serious face stained with soot and looking a little funny.

"What happened, Severus?" Professor McGonagall swept quickly over each of them, then fixed her gaze on Lawrence, "Harry, Lawrence?"

"Rovander said the basilisk of the Chamber of Secrets, I think we've finally figured something out." Snape said expressionlessly, Lawrence finally noticed that something was wrong,

"Professor Dunburidor didn't tell you that there was a basilisk hidden in the secret room?" Lawrence asked, surprised, "I thought the professors knew?"

"No, the Headmaster didn't say anything," Snape said coldly, "and he just said 'If Lawrence comes to you, it's going to be the most critical moment.'"

"What precautions? A mirror around the corner of the hallway?" Lawrence felt like a mess in his head, which was so weird,

"That's what Deng Buliduo told me about, and we don't know why we did it." Professor McGonagall replied, "So, what happened?"

"There's a basilisk hiding in the chamber, and I suspect Ginny may be in possession." Lawrence quickly gathered his thoughts, "She unleashed the basilisk and attacked the students, but all the students who were victimized looked at the basilisk through something else, so there were no victims."

"I think—" Professor McGonagall was about to speak, when there was an explosion of "bumper bump—" and shrill laughter, followed by a loud hiss,

"No!" Harry shouted suddenly, and everyone turned their eyes to him,

"The heir - opened the secret room, he wants to release the snake demon to kill all the students of the school." Harry said in horror,

"The secret room, where is the secret room?" Snape asked hurriedly, "It's important."

"We guess it's the girls' restroom on the second floor," Lawrence replied, "Lady Loris was killed on the second floor, Colin was in the stairwell on the second floor, Justin and Nick don't know, Hermione was in the women's restroom on the second floor, and most importantly, the victims fifty years ago were also in the women's restroom on the second floor."

"I should have thought of it, I knew that Myrtle was the victim last time." Professor McGonagall said that she raised her wand and whispered a incantation to her throat (Note 1)

"All the students are back in their dorms, and all the students below the second floor are taking refuge in the Hufflepuff common room, Pomona, please help them." Professor McGonagall's voice instantly amplified hundreds of times, "Philius, protect the students from the second floor, cast a spell to seal the abandoned girls' restroom on the second floor, and the professors assist the students in evacuating."

"Now we have a little more time," Professor McGonagall's voice returned to normal, "Have you contacted Dunburydo?" Severus."

Snape shook his head, and Professor McGonagall looked at him strangely, Professor McGonagall raised her wand, and a silver cat flew out of the tip, and it quickly disappeared through the wall,

"Let's go up and have a look." Professor McGonagall ran upstairs first,

"Let's go, Harry." Lawrence pulled the frightened Harry away, and Snape walked at the end without saying a word.

They came to the abandoned girls' toilet on the second floor, the twins and Ron were squatting next to each other, Ron's left hand was injured, George and Fred were helping him to suppress the wound, Lockhart was pointing at them, but all three ignored him,

Professor Flitwick was sweating profusely waving his wand, and from time to time the tip of the wand flew out of white light, fluttering into the silver wall of light.

"I'm sorry we didn't stop Ginny," George said to Lawrence, who quietly slipped the remastered map to Lawrence, "She attacked us, but I guess it wasn't Ginny."

"I recognize it, she's scurrying around the school with the vanilla map," Fred whispered, "and she attacked the Ravenclaw students and started scurrying around again, and finally ran here and blew up half of the walls, and that's when Ron was injured."

Lawrence nodded, Madam Pomfrey hurried in to help with Ron's treatment, and Professor Flitwick was discussing with Professor McGonagall, and Lawrence approached them,

"I won't be able to stop it for long, Minerva." Professor Flitwick said, as if to prove what he said, the wall of light shook suddenly, and the surrounding walls showed a slight crack.

"Then get out of the way, and lead it down the hall," replied Professor McGonagall decisively, "and it's convenient for us to move—"

"But Professor, the basilisk's lethal eyes, massive body, and fangs......" Lawrence said eagerly, "the school roosters have been killed, and we—"

"Yes, Mr. Rovande, but my army will not die," Professor McGonagall said, raising her wand, "Hogwarts is under threat, take up position in the Great Hall, protect the school and its students, now, do your duty!" Come back to life!"

A series of clicks and knocks, and the armor decorated on the side of the corridor began to move one by one, moving forward with neat steps, leaving the five students present stunned.

"Shhh

"Someone is commanding him." Harry said in a trembling tone, "He's going to go to Gryffindor, because there's the most Muggle descendant......

"Well......" Professor McGonagall waved his wand and jumped out of the marching ranks with the secondary armor, all of them holding huge mallets as weapons, and then a few toothache thumps, the basilisk roared angrily, biting the armor to pieces, and the massive body swam towards the armor that was shooting arrows at him, and several of the armor threw ropes in an attempt to subdue the basilisk,

"I think a few of our professors can solve it," Professor McGonagall said calmly, "Philius, Severus, Lockhart, you come with me to the hall to solve it, Madam Pomfrey, please bring the students back to Gryffindorta—"

An angry roar came from the girls' restroom, and everyone looked there, where there was a wide pipe, and now a washbasin floated up to cover it,

"Don't!" Harry yelled, "That voice says he's going to kill Ginny, in the Chamber of Secrets, save her."

"Please." Harry looked at Professor McGonagall, and the Weasleys looked at him,

"We will," Professor McGonagall said calmly, "but we don't know how to open the passage, and there must be magic protection for it, if it's done in the wrong way......

"When we arrived, Ginny was talking to the sink, but it was a hiss we couldn't understand." Fred said,

"Then she blew up the walls and blew us out." George said,

"I'm a parseltongue," Harry said immediately, and as he ran to the sink as fast as everyone heard a hissing and a flash of white light, the sink sank, and the wide passage reappeared,

"I'm going to bring little Ginny back," Lockhart jumped out, finally finding a quest other than going to the halls to deal with the basilisk, his trademark grin, "I've done this a few times, I'm an expert......

"I'm going too," Harry shouted, "there may be other mechanisms in there that need my Parseltongue."

"I'm going to—oh, too." Ron said this, and Madam Pomfrey stabbed him hard with her wand in the wound on his left hand,

"We're going too." The twins said in unison, "She's our sister."

"Fainted." A cold voice rang out, and a red light stunned Harry accurately, it was Snape, who raised his wand and said coldly, "This is not the time to be a hero."

"Oh, Severus," exclaimed Professor McGonagall, "you should be gentle."

"I'm sorry, Professor McGonagall," Snape replied, "but it's urgent."

"How can you do that?" Ron yells angrily, and the twins pull out their wands, but are stopped by Professor McGonagall.

"Shut up." Snape's expression was terrifying, "Don't think I won't stun you all."

"You knocked Harry unconscious, so what if you had to use a parseltongue inside?" Fred asked angrily,

"Language is a sound, and there is one person here who must remember what Potter said," Snape looked at Lawrence with his dark eyes unemotional, "right?" Lawrence. Rovander."

"I'll treat Ginny like my sister, and I'll save her if I can," Lawrence said, looking at Snape, "Do you want to come along?" Professor?"

"Absolutely." Snape had a smile on his face, but it looked very strange at all times,

"That's it," Professor McGonagall said quickly, "I, Filius, and Lockhart will go down the hall to get rid of the basilisk, Madam Pomfrey, and please bring the students back to the Gryffindor common room...... Severus, Lawrence, be careful."

"Don't forget, we've sold a lot of stuff this year," the twins said in unison, and together they carried Harry onto the stretcher Professor McGonagall had conjured, "remember to come back alive and split the money."

"Oh, so ...... Nobody pays any attention to me......" Lockhart muttered, but he barely managed to keep up with Professors McGonagall and Flitwick.

Author's Note: I originally wanted the basilisk to appear handsome from the Black Lake, but then I thought about it, and the length of the basilisk didn't seem to be much compared to the size of the Black Lake......

Note 1: Professor McGonagall and Voldemort were contemporaries.

Note 2: There are many professors' names in this chapter, and Pomona and Filius seem to appear less frequently in the original work, and they mostly appear using first names rather than first names.

Pomona. Sprout, Hufflepuff Dean, Herbalism

Filius. Flitwick, Dean of Ravenclaw, Charms

Minerva. McGonagall, Dean Gryffindor, Metamorphosis
