012 The Victims of Fifty Years Ago

When the Christmas break was over and the students were returning to school, when they learned that Hermione of Gryffindor had been attacked and Principal Dunburlido had been suspended by the school board, Rubeus Murphy. Hagrid was taken to Azkaban as a suspect, but his capture was obviously not reassuring, fear spread like never before, and apparently most of the students did not think Hagrid would be the murderer.

Professor McGonagall became the acting headmaster, and she decided to keep the school running, but in order to prevent the students from being killed, she had Filch set up large mirrors around every corner of the school, and asked the students not to be left alone, and the teachers must lead the team to ensure safety between classes, while the school's exams and activities will continue as usual, including Quidditch competitions, of course,

"Because Hermione was attacked, a lot of people don't think I'm a murderer anymore." Harry said with some sadness that he felt conflicted,

"It's okay, Hermione is fine, is she?" Ron optimistically said, "It's just petrified."

"Do you think we should go to the spider?" Harry asked Lawrence in a low voice, "Hagrid's hint for us...... I've got a cloak and we can sneak out......

"I don't think you should go," Lawrence said calmly, "The spider's hint only confirms my inference, that the spider will flee when it feels the breath of the basilisk, and that is their natural predator."

"Oh," Harry looked a little frustrated,

"But maybe we can get some other clues, like how to defeat that snake......" Ron said in a hurried tone.

"Don't be stupid, would you ask a mouse how to defeat a cat?" Fred asked incredulously, and after they were brought back by Professor McGonagall, Lawrence told the twins the general story of what had happened,

"Do you have a way?" George asked Lawrence, and Harry and Ron looked at him expectantly,

"No, this beast is very powerful and incredibly lethal," Lawrence said gloomily, "With its deadly eyes, ordinary wizards have little chance of winning, and the best way to defeat it is to let a great magician like Dunburidor solve it." (Note 1)

"The best? So there's another way?" Ron asked curiously,

"Deep dark magic," said Lawrence, "to obscure the basilisk's line of sight......

"Isn't there a simpler way?" Fred asked,

"And the rooster's cry is deadly to the basilisk," said Lawrence, "and it's the easiest way to do it."

"Hagrid said the school chickens were killed." Harry took a deep breath and asked, "We have so many teachers in our school, do we win the basilisk like this?"

"Of course, but a few may be sacrificed, and don't forget the Slytherin heirs," Lawrence replied, saying with some distress, "and the point is that we don't know where the entrance is."

The month of January passed quickly, without a single attack, and the students' fears and uneasiness gradually subsided. Lockhart always seemed complacent in class, as if it were his work,

"Of course, I've been suspicious of Rubeus for a long time. Hagrid," Lockhart triumphantly announced, "and now that he's been captured, the school is calm again, it's obvious."

"What if the school professors went to kill the basilisk and sacrificed this guy?" Fred pretended to be sad and said,

"Earned, if I were a basilisk, I would definitely not be able to die." Lawrence replied, George snickering,

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to have a little cheering event on February 14th...... Lockhart said vividly, "I think everyone will enjoy it."

On the 14th of February, Lawrence froze as soon as he stepped into the hall, the walls around him turned into a pink flower wall, and the ceiling was draped with heart-shaped colored paper, and Lockhart, dressed in bright pink robes, commanded a group of dwarfs with wings on their backs and little golden harps in their hands, acting as Cupid's dwarfs.

"These little angels will be handing out cards around the school today," Lockhart's excited expression contrasted strongly with the expressions of the many professors on the side, "Give them your cards!"

"Oh my God," George said sadly, "can we skip class today?"

"You say if I write a card to Angelina, will she tell me not to talk to her again?" Fred quipped,

"Maybe she'll like it, maybe?" Lawrence replied with an eyebrow, noticing that many eyes were already looking at him, "I think I'd better not get caught up by those dwarfs today."

Lawrence survived the day safely - he managed to evade the dwarfs with some secret passages and illusions, and when he heard Harry's tragic fate, Lawrence and the twins couldn't help but laugh,

"I think Ginny must be sad," Fred said to Harry with a smile, "but this kind of thing can't barely happen, right?"

"Ginny saw that too," Ron said sullenly, and the twins began to sing Ginny's card again.

"There's something I want to show you," Harry whispered to Lawrence, ignoring the twins' teasing, "I just put him back in the bedroom, but I think you'll be interested."

Harry got up and went back to his bedroom, but not long after that there was a shout, and Lawrence and the others rushed to find Harry's bedroom in disarray, and Harry was checking a pile of clutter,

"The diary is gone." Harry said, looking a little uneasy,

"What diary?" Lawrence asked,

"We picked up a diary in the girls' restroom on the second floor last month." Harry replied,

"The diary told Harry that Hagrid was the killer of the last Vault, but we didn't believe it, so we ......" Ron stopped in the middle of speaking.

"So?" Lawrence asked,

"We didn't listen to you, we sneaked into the Forbidden Forest in search of the spider." Ron said that he was most afraid of spiders, "That's terrible......

"But we've made sure Hagrid wasn't the murderer," Harry said, "but there's no new information, the spider doesn't even want to mention the basilisk, and when we mention the basilisk, he even gets angry, saying that it was a Muggle student who died in the girls' bathroom fifty years ago......?" (Note 2)

Harry looked up suddenly, and he glanced at Lawrence,

"Myrtle?" Lawrence and Harry said in unison, while the twins and Ron looked a little confused,

There was a rapid scream outside the dormitory, and they ran out to inspect it, and found that it was

"Ginny?" Fred exclaimed in surprise, "Hey, Ginny?"

Lawrence instantly understood what was happening, he didn't care about secrecy, he took out the map, and he saw Ginny's dot quickly leave Gryffindor Tower,

"Fred, George, Ron." Lawrence said hurriedly, handing the map to the twins, "Please, go after Ginny, and try to stop her if you canβ€”"

"But whyβ€”?" Ron asked, confused,

"There's no time to explain, please," Lawrence said, "trust me."

"Let's go." Fred nodded and took the map, and the Weasley brothers hurried away,

"Harry, please follow me." Lawrence said he had no choice now, "Let's go find someone."

Author's words: tired ...... Why do a bunch of normal words become "*" and "lover_person" sections, and "**" before the bright moonlight" all want river crabs, which is inexplicable.

Note 1: In the physical book of the Tales of Bard Pitto, it is recorded that in ancient times, the title of magician was used exclusively to wizards who were good at lethal combat magic, and it was also canonized to particularly heroic wizards, while in modern times, there are two situations in which they are called magicians: wizards with particularly brave appearances, or wizards with particularly strong magic and outstanding magical achievements.

Note 2: Sometimes we ignore some different details because the message is known, but if we think about it a few times, we can find a clear difference.
