033 Third Mission - Commencement

At dinner, Barty. Mr. Crouch still didn't show up, and the judges weren't Percy, or the Minister of Magic, Cornelly. Fudge took his place,

"Percy is not in a good condition, and the Ministry of Magic does not want Mr. Crouch's disappearance to be exposed," Mrs. Weasley explained in a low voice, "Percy is under investigation - the Ministry of Magic believes that those letters were not written by Mr. Crouch."

"Doesn't seem to be alone?" Remus looked at the faculty chair, "Where's Karkaroff?"

"Maybe it's just a late arrival?" Sirius said, looking at Harry who was about to speak, "What's wrong, Harry?"

"Professor Dumbledore said that a lot of people have gone missing," Harry hesitated, but continued, "A Muggle, Besa. Jorkins, Mr. Crouch, I mean -- Voldemort—"

"Please—" Ron shuddered at the name, and Remus looked around keenly to make sure no one else was paying attention here,

"Well, I mean 'that person,'" Harry struggled to put his words together, "there were always some disappearances in the last war, right? Perhaps—"

"I don't think you should bother with that now, Harry," Mrs. Weasley, "where else could you be safer in Hogwarts with Dumbledore there?"

"Jasmine is absolutely right," Remus said solemnly, "after dinner, you're going to take part in the final mission, and you have to focus on the mission and get through it safely."

"It's alright, Harry, Karkaroff probably just fell into the lake, I mean, he might be stupid enough to forget how to get out of the boat, right?" Sirius said in as breezy a tone as best he could, but he exchanged a look with Remus cryptically,

"Oh, okay." Harry shrugged as he lowered his head to eat the food on his plate, and Mrs. Weasley began to keep putting some food on everyone's empty plate until everyone couldn't eat anymore,

But until the end of dinner, Karkaroff did not show up, and Dumbledore did not get up to announce the start of the final mission. Fudge spoke to Dumbledore in a low voice with a straight face,

Mrs. Maxim sat silent, as if she didn't care about herself, and Lawrence noticed that Hagrid, on the other side of the faculty seat, kept peeking at her out of the corner of his eye, and gradually, the noise in the hall grew louder and louder.

Eventually, Dumbledore and Fudge seemed to come to an agreement, and Dumbledore stood up and, under the watchful eyes of everyone in the hall, went to the Slytherin table, where he found Victor and his parents.

Victor shook his head and shrugged his shoulders, Dumbledore nodded, shook hands with Victor's father, returned to the faculty chair, and nodded to Fudge before facing the people in the hall and said,

"Ladies and gentlemen, the final mission of the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin, and I regret to inform you," Dumbledore said, smiling as he faced the people in the hall,

"We can't contact Professor Karkaroff at this time, with the consent of the Durmstrang fighters, we will first ask the Ministry of Magic to send another judge, and now, we will ask the fighters and Mr. Ludo to go to the ball pool first to prepare."

"Go, Harry." Sirius patted Harry on the back to cheer him up, and Remus clapped his hands with a smile,

"Lawrence." The twin brothers put their arms on Lawrence's shoulders one by one and shouted in unison, "We must win!"

"You two remember—" Mrs. Weasley stared at Lawrence and Harry earnestly, "safety is paramount."

Amid the applause and cheers of the students, the four fighters met in Ludo. Led by Bagman, to the Quidditch Ball Pool, no one spoke along the way, Lawrence looked at Fleur's back, her beautiful waist-length silver hair was simply tied into a high ponytail, swinging regularly,

At this time. The sun had disappeared on the horizon in the distance, and the deep blue sky, twinkling stars one after another, came to the entrance to the labyrinth—a crack in a twenty-foot-high fence,

Hagrid, Professor Moody, Professor McGonagall, and Professor Flitwick also stepped into the ball pool and walked to the entrance to the maze, all with a shining red star pinned to their hats, except for Hagrid, who was the only one with the star pinned to his vest.

"We'll patrol outside the labyrinth," Professor McGonagall said, staring at each fighter one by one to make sure everyone was listening to her, "and if you need help, shoot red sparks into the sky and we'll go in immediately, understand?"

"Go ahead, I'll take care of the rest." Ludo said this happily to the professors, and he looked around at the students who were stepping into the stands, and raised his wand to his throat to chant a spell, his voice instantly drowned out the noise in the stands,

"Ladies and gentlemen, the final task of the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin, and I would like to report to you that the current ranking of points is led by Mr. Rovander with ninety-one points—"

There was a burst of cheers from the stands, red sparks exploded, and the birds in the Forbidden Forest fluttered their wings and flew into the distance, and Ludo had to roar harder to suppress the sound.

"Second place is also a Hogwarts fighter, and Mr. Potter has eighty-five points so far—"

"Mr. Krum, a fighter from Durmstrang, is in third place with eighty points—"

"Miss Delacour, number four, has seventy points so far—now—"

"Let's go first, Lawrence, listen to my whistle—" Ludo said, a short whistle sounded, Lawrence strode into the labyrinth, the noise around him disappeared, the flames of the ball pool illumination, as if blocked by magic at the entrance, the labyrinth was pitch black, only the moonlight from the sky, faintly visible a short road ahead,

Although it was already a summer night, it was relatively cold in the labyrinth, Lawrence thought about it, raised his left hand, and a blue flame came out of his palm, but it could only illuminate the distance of a few steps ahead, and the position a little farther away was still pitch black.

The wall of the maze is a fence that grows from the ground, Lawrence pulled the fence, pulled down a section of plant-like branches, and after letting go of his hand, the branches slowly burrowed back into the fence, Lawrence had a feeling, this maze seemed to be alive?

At this time, the short whistle sounded again, Lawrence knew that this was the meaning of Harry entering the labyrinth, he thought about it, and smiled evilly and dropped the "psychedelic smoke" glass beads sent by the twins at the intersection, the glass beads shattered and rolled up a puff of white smoke, Lawrence quickly escaped from the scene of the crime,

But he didn't know that not long after he left, a spell came from afar, burning the white smoke clean.

When the third whistle blew, Lawrence was crouching on the grass, trying to pull a handful of grass from the ball pool, but after many attempts he found that it was futile, and the grass kept slipping out of his hands.

When the fourth whistle sounded, Lawrence looked at the piece of turf that he had forcibly pulled up with his own magic, and he had some guesses in his mind,

It seemed that only magic could damage the labyrinth, he clapped his hands and looked around with some doubts, it had been a while, could it be so just that Harry and Wickdor had gone to another fork in the road?

Lawrence took a few steps in the direction he had walked, only to find that the path that should have been straight had silently become a fork in the road.

"Does the labyrinth change at any time?" Lawrence frowned and thought, "That's a real problem."
