Chapter Eighty-Five: Cold Water Topping
Bow and thank "Long Hair Forever Floating", "Plate," and "Proud Mage" for 100 tips each!
Straddling the upper banks of the Lechhat River, the east bank of the river is mostly residential areas, while on the west bank of the river, with the exception of a few living areas, there are a large number of open-pit deposits and deep mines, as well as a variety of smelters.
Geologically, Mount Issa is located in the MacArthur fault basin in the northwest Proterozoic distribution of Queensland, and the basin basement was subjected to strong deformation, multi-stage intrusion and metamorphism, forming the Mount Isa Group (a rock formation basement dominated by calcareous siliceous shale, siltstone, dolomite, tuff shale, etc.) in the Miocobroterozoic.
The Mount Isa deposit occurs in the Urquhart Shale and consists of three facies: the first is a breccia copper-bearing siliceous dolomite; the second is pyrite-taffaceous shale with silver-lead-zinc mineralization; The third is dolomitic shale and siltstone.
Therefore, there are many types of ore minerals in the Mount Isa deposit group, including galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, pyrocamine, arsenite, marcasite, etc. Among them, the ore contains more than 2%~10% zinc, more than 2%~14% lead, and 3%~3.8% copper; And there are precious metals such as silver. A total of 11.78 million tonnes of lead and zinc have been discovered across the Mount Issa deposit at an average grade of 13.1%.
The Mount Isa Deposit was discovered in 1931 and was mined that year when it was Australia's leading silver-lead-zinc producing mine. Later, in 1953, it gradually became Australia's main copper producing mine, and after more than 60 years of mining, the copper reserves around Mount Issa are still very large, although some mining companies have opened copper mines to 20 kilometers north of Mount Issa, but this also happens to show the size of the Mount Isa deposits.
In March 1997, construction began at the famous Cannington Silver Mine. The world's largest silver deposit, a blind deposit buried at depths of 10-60 metres, is the most famous of the Mount Isa deposits.
Cannington silver mine belongs to Australia's largest mining company BHP Billiton, the mine has reserves of up to 7.18 million tons of lead and zinc, 23,000 tons of silver, with an average of 10.7% lead, 4.6% zinc and 470g/t silver, 233,000 tons of lead in 2003, 503,000 tons of zinc, 1,100 tons of silver, and 1,428 tons of silver in 2004, accounting for about 2/3 of Australia's silver production that year, accounting for 7% of the world's mine silver production. The mine is also the world's largest and lowest-cost producer of lead and zinc.
The Mount Isa Copper-Pb-Zinc-Silver Belt, the world's largest zinc-forming belt, is home to seven world-class Proterozoic base metal deposits in sedimentary rocks: MacArthur River, Century, Daggerd River, Hilton, Mount Issa, Latiloretta and Cannington, all of which contain 2 million tonnes of zinc or more.
These seven proven world-class deposits Tang Feng can't move even if he wants to, everyone has already proved it, how can you move, besides, the main reason why these deposits are called "base metal" deposits is that the main deposits are base metals such as copper, lead and zinc, which are not expensive and are easy to oxidize or corrode.
Although one Cannington silver deposit has been excavated from one of the Cannington deposits, it means that the other six deposits can also behave like the Cannington deposits.
However, since there are seven world-class deposits here, and there is such a wonderful silver mine as Cannington, geologically speaking, the vast area around Mount Issa must contain very rich precious metal resources. These resources may not form a high-yield and high-quality silver deposit like Cannington, and others may be reluctant to mine it because of the high cost of mining, but Tang Feng can!
Tang Feng, who holds the star core in his hand, is doing this kind of work!
However, when Tang Feng really calmed down and got to know Mount Isa, Rao is Tang Feng had the star core in his hand, and he couldn't help but feel a chill in his heart.
The reason is very simple, Tang Feng passed a three-day investigation, but found that within thirty kilometers of Mount Issa, all the land was already famous. In other words, even if Tang Feng had money, he could not buy land that could be used as a mining field.
There's no land, you mining fart!
This situation undoubtedly poured cold water on Tang Feng's head, and Tang Feng's confidence that he was completely sure suffered a great blow.
In fact, this is also to blame Tang Feng, mainly because the mineral resources buried under the land around Mount Isa are really tempting. You know, there are no less than 100 mining companies in Mount Issa alone, and more than a dozen well-known mining companies are gathered here, not to mention BHP Billiton, people occupy the Cannington silver mine, and others like Holdings (I.M.I), Indel, a second-tier mining company, how can they let go of such a treasure like Mount Issa? Not to mention the private mining companies.
These mining companies, large and small, have already bought all the land they can buy around Mount Aisa. One is to be able to find deposits underground, and the other is to prevent other mining companies from getting involved.
And Tang Feng's Tang Mining Company was so blocked outside the gate of Mount Isa!
The distressed Tang Feng was very helpless, during this time, he did not hesitate to spend 10% of his energy reserves, and carried out five large-scale scans around Mount Isa, and the results made Tang Feng red.
This is indeed the location of a world-class group of deposits, and beneath the desolate surface is a maddening deposit of metals, precious metals and base metals, buried beneath the ground, as if the whole of Mount Issa was sitting on top of it!
Even in the area far from Mount Isa, there are many high-grade deposits underground, but alas, these places have been occupied by others!
What to do?
Tang Feng, who had been busy for three or four days, was very unwilling to lie on the bed in the hotel, while letting the star core viciously absorb a uranium mine under the name of the mining company to replenish energy, while holding a map of Queensland and looking carefully.
Suddenly, a name on the map made Tang Feng's eyes fixed on it, and at the same time, some information about the city also appeared in Tang Feng's brain. The city is Kroncri, about 100 kilometres west of Mount Aisa.
This town of about 2,000 people is a well-known gold and copper mining site, and although it is not as well-known as Mount Aissa, the fact that gold and copper deposits can be found there is undoubtedly proof that the deposits in the Mount Aisa-Clickena-Krillon region are extensive.
Since there are large quantities of high-grade gold and copper deposits found in Crikorn, is this also the case elsewhere? Tang Feng's eyes followed the map to the north of the Krikron, and gradually, his gaze fell on another place, a small town on the banks of the middle reaches of the Lesihat River, and the name was Kajabi
Kajabi, Mount Isa, and Cronkery are about an equilateral triangle, and the distance between them is about 100 kilometers, and from a geological point of view, the area where Kajabi is located is in the extension of the MacArthur Fault Basin.
However, these are just inferences, as for whether there are really mineral deposits, Tang Feng still has to go to the field to investigate!
This sudden thought immediately shook Tang Feng's spirit, and despite the fact that it was already nightfall, he got up and got dressed and walked out of the hotel, driving around Mount Isa, buying some necessary supplies to prepare for the upcoming field investigation tomorrow.
