Chapter 340: Killer Mountain

This night's camp was much harder than last night's!

This is a high altitude of 6,300 meters above sea level, although it is at a mountain pass, but at such a high altitude, even those yaks dare not move easily. The oxygen concentration here is only about 35% of the sea level, even Tang Feng feels a little uncomfortable, and as for Hansen, they have to pull the bellows, trying to catch their breath.

Seeing Han Sen and them forcibly insisting there one by one with blue faces, this made Tang Feng regret it a little. I would have known that I would not have taken this path, and would rather take a detour than let Hansen and them suffer this crime.

Dinner and breakfast were made by Tang Feng and Hassan, to be exact, Tang Feng was mainly busy, and Hassan was on the side to help Tang Feng. Hassan was a little better, after all, he was a native of the native, and although he had difficulty breathing at this altitude, at least this guy could still move, unlike Hansen and them, who had to gasp for breath after walking a few steps.

Although Hansen is in good physical condition, they have never been to such a high altitude area, so it is natural that they have such a strong altitude sickness. In order to alleviate Han Sen's pain, Tang Feng even quietly took out the spring water from the Raw Water Spring for them to drink, and the result was still very good.

Early the next morning, after more than two hours of hard work, Tang Feng and the others finally crossed the mountain pass at an altitude of 6,500 meters. After crossing the mountain pass, it was all the way down, which made Hansen, who had experienced the baptism of 6,500 meters above sea level, feel a lot more relaxed, and even the dozen or so cows and cows took a lot easier.

Crossing this pass, there is a valley more than 4,500 meters above sea level, and in this valley there are many camping sites, because of the northern face of this valley. It is the Rupal rock wall of the famous Nanga Parbat Peak!

Located on the south side of Nanga Parbat, this rock wall is the largest in the world, with a length of 4,500 meters, which is so majestic that many tourists come to this valley every year to see the Rupal rock face.

However, most of these tourists come to enjoy the scenery, as for the climb of Nanga Parbat. The vast majority of people probably don't have that in mind. This is the ninth highest mountain in the world to climb and is the fourth highest mountain in the world, with more than 33% of people dying during the climb and during the descent since the first attempts to climb it! In other words, for every hundred climbers who climbed this mountain in previous decades, thirty-three people would have been buried in this mountain!

This mortality rate is also second only to the 60.6% mortality rate for climbing Gonggar Mountain and the 50.5% mortality rate for climbing Annapurna Peak, the tenth highest peak in the world, and more than the 30% mortality rate for climbing K2 Peak, which is Chogori Peak!

Some might say. Why is the mountain the fourth most difficult mountain in the world, given that the death rate of climbing Nanga Parbat is the third highest in the world?

In fact, there are still several high mountains that have not been conquered by human beings, such as the main peak of the Meili Snow Mountain in China, the main peak of the Huaxia Meili Snow Mountain, the main peak of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the peak of Bukadaban, the highest peak in Qinghai, and the Yuxu Peak, which is also located in Qinghai. Although the altitude of these four mountains is not very high, they have never been conquered so far!

There are also peaks such as Baitabulak in Pakistan, where only two people have climbed the 7,285-metre-high peak. Hence the fact that this mountain has a very loud and terrifying nickname - Ogre! And in Argentina, the peak of Seto is only 3,133 meters. So far, only seven people have reached the top!

Peaks such as Meili Snow Mountain and Baitabulak Peak can no longer be ranked by the difficulty of climbing, and to be able to climb such peaks, it must be completed by people with great luck. It's not enough for you to be skilled, you have to be lucky. Therefore, these peaks are basically the same type of peaks as the first grade.

Below them are the peaks ranked by climbing mortality.

This Naga Parbat peak in front of you. Not only is it the ninth highest peak in the world, but it is also the third most dangerous peak in the world. The fame of this "killer peak" is so great that it scares off many climbers, but it attracts a large number of tourists to admire the majesty of this killer peak.

Standing in the valley beneath the Rupal rock face, it is magnificent to admire the world's ninth highest peak, which is made up of five snow-capped peaks. The huge Rupal rock wall is like an unattainable screen. Standing there, the upper layer is covered by a heavy glacier, while the rocks below the snow line are exposed to the sun, making them particularly majestic and vigorous.

Tang Feng and they arrived in the valley under the Rupal rock wall in the afternoon. This valley is blocked by the tall Nanga Parbat peak to the north, so although the valley is more than 4,000 meters above sea level, it is quite warm, and you can even see some low shrubs here, and there are several small lakes formed by glacial meltwater, as if the purest sapphires dotted this slightly desolate valley.

The Nanga Parbat region is the best time to climb the mountain during the rainy season from May to September, and now at the end of February, the rainy season alternates with the dry season, when the weather is sunny but the alpine wind blows. When this unpredictable alpine wind blows suddenly, the custom can reach up to 40 m/s, and if someone encounters this alpine wind during the climb, one can even be blown off the cliff by the wind if they are not careful

The scenery here also amazed Hansen, and the reduced altitude rejuvenated Hansen, and these guys even took out their cameras to shoot.

It's just that Tang Feng didn't have the mood to enjoy this kind of beautiful scenery, because after arriving at the valley, the entire Nanga Parbat Peak was shrouded in the survey range of the star core, and the previous intermittent sapphire vein that made Tang Feng's teeth itch has undergone great changes here.

And this change also made Tang Feng finally breathe a sigh of relief, because the vein that had been intermittent for the first two days turned into a large vein with shimmering and intoxicating colors after extending to the main peak of Nanga Parbat Peak, stretching for two square kilometers (to be continued......
