A little comment on "Li Shi's militia defeated Jingzhou".

Author's note: Originally, I didn't plan to say two sentences, but after thinking about it, if I didn't say anything, then it was very likely to be regarded as a supporter of the above argument, so I thought about it for a while, and there are still a few points that need to be clarified:

First of all, Xue Ju is indeed a strong opponent, if this is not the case, then the Tang army will not be defeated in a row, even Li Shimin needs to hold on to the immortal commander who temporarily avoids his front, how can other second-rate generals of the Tang army defeat him? Therefore, it is not surprising that Wude suffered consecutive defeats during the year.

Li Shimin was only twenty years old at the time, and as the saying goes, he has no hair on his mouth and is not good at handling things, if you were Father Li, who is known for his prudence all his life, would you hand over a quarter of your army to such a young son? Even if he is one of the most outstanding. Therefore, Li Shimin's original position as the commander-in-chief of the Western Route Army should be only a name, and he does not have actual authority, and the generals in various places mainly obey Father Li's orders and have the right to do their own things.

Xue Ju's territory really can't supply too many troops, which can be seen from the fact that Xue Jun's army has been short of food, but even if the figure of 300,000 is exaggerated, there are always more than 100,000 people, and without more than 100,000 people as backing, how dare Xue Ju have the courage to be the emperor. You must know that during the war period at the end of the Sui Dynasty, the people in Henan, Hebei, and Jianghuai, which were the most fierce wars, were displaced, but in remote areas where there were fewer wars, with the influx of a large number of refugees, the population would rise instead of falling. And the last survivors who can flee from their respective hometowns to remote areas are always strong young adults, and these people constitute a source of soldiers who can be recruited in large numbers, so although the land is barren, Xue Ju can still easily obtain a large number of troops, if it is really as mentioned above, only fifty or sixty thousand, then these fifty or sixty thousand people must be the elite selected from the elite, even if Li Yuan has been entrenched in Taiyuan for many years, the old base army is not as good as it, not to mention the terrifying combat power, Li Tang's army suffered defeats in a row, and it was inevitable that they would stand.

Therefore, when the Zhulu Tang Army was defeated, the Western Route Army was abolished, and the Eastern Route Army, which was urgently transferred from the east, was also beaten to the ground, Tang Gaozu in order to protect the Third Field Army (as mentioned above, the Fourth Field Army also had it, and looked at Li Yuan's lair in Taiyuan!). When it was decided to abandon Chang'an and retreat to Taiyuan, only Li Shimin took the initiative to ask for help, and dared to lead a group of defeated troops who had been beaten and had no morale to fight with Xue Ju's troops in Jingzhou. An army with low morale and even suffered defeat, if you really want to send them to fight, it is possible for your own people to run away before the war starts, besides, the Qin army is short of food, but Li Shimin's troops are not worried about food, and they can't stick to the best strategy.

Of course, it is not enough to hold on to it, during this period, Li Shimin had more important things to do, that is, to appease and restore the morale of the soldiers, and then Li Shimin decided to fight against Western Qin, and pursued the Qin rout for a day and night, although Li Shimin's generals were frightened, but still tried to move forward bravely, if this was at the time of the initial defeat of the Tang army, it was almost impossible.

There was an incident during the holding period, that is, General Liu Regret, who was trapped in Jingzhou, was captured, about this incident, the author above regarded him as a manifestation of Li Shimin's military incompetence, but the truth of the matter, a demoralized army could not have the ability to fight a decisive battle with the powerful Western Qin army in the field, if Li Shimin really dared to give up holding on and send troops to rescue Liu Regret, the outcome must be another big defeat, and Li Shimin's previous efforts were soon in vain? Therefore, even if Liu regrets are sacrificed, they must not be able to hold on.

Moreover, although Liu Regret's situation is difficult, according to the city, he can protect Jingzhou without loss, but after Li Shimin's cheap uncle sent troops to rescue, because the enemy surrendered, Li Shimin's uncle who rushed forward to surrender brought Liu Regret's troops who had just finished the battle, and the soldiers were tired and had not had time to rest, and then Liu regret saw through the other party's fraudulent surrender, and finally tried his best to be captured after personally leading the troops. On the contrary, Li Shimin's uncle is more responsible.

So, just holding on to the death, although Xue Ju's father and son are brave, it is an indisputable fact that their army is short of food, and Chang'an's defense is tight, and the strategy of attacking Chang'an has been declared bankrupt from the beginning, can Xue Ju not worry about the future? In addition, his son is not successful, although Xue Rengao is brave and invincible, he is brutal and easy to kill, Xue Ju asked: "Can I surrender?" It shouldn't be surprising, of course, the phrase "the matter of the Son of Heaven is coming" is estimated to be blown, after all, there are countless fans of Li Shimin in later generations, and even the great historian Sima Guang is also a fan of this one. As soon as the madness of fans comes up, it is possible to deify people. What's more, it's just a few words of praise. Then, Xue Ju died.

As soon as Xue Ju died, in fact, the outcome of the war had become a foregone conclusion, Xue Rengao was brave and unscrupulous, brutal and easy to kill, and did not respect the local famous families, the internal contradictions of the Western Qin Empire intensified sharply, and finally was broken by Li Shimin in a war, Xue Rengao was also captured and sent to Chang'an, and finally killed. The Western Qin Empire disappeared, and Li Tang completely stabilized his sphere of influence in Guanzhong.

Will Li Shimin be able to do the doppelganger technique, how did he be on the Western Front at this time, and suddenly came to the Eastern Front at that time, is he a monster? Because the historical records are unknown, I also found a lot of things recently because of the writing of the book, and I only understood a little bit. You say, when did Daddy Li start suppressing Li Shimin? At first, we all thought that it should have started when Liu Wenjing was killed before Liu Wuzhou invaded Taiyuan, until I found out the detailed list of times when Li Tang conquered Guanzhong, and I found some clues. When marching into Guanzhong, Li Shimin, as the front of Li Yuan's army, rushed the most fiercely, deep into the enemy's territory, when the other armies were still besieging Qu Tutong in Hedong, Li Shimin's troops had rushed to the suburbs of Chang'an, directly threatening the security of Chang'an City, however, when a month later, when the Tang army launched a general attack on Chang'an City, in the ranks of Zhulu to participate in the battle, there was no record of Li Shimin's department, and finally after a fierce battle, the soldiers who took the lead in climbing the city wall were Li Jiancheng's people.

As we all know, Li Jiancheng did not have the courage to stay in his hometown to recruit troops and gather a team of men like Princess Pingyang, nor did he stay in Taiyuan with Li Yuan very early like Li Shimin, and had his own small group, which was able to expand the army frantically when he was rushing on the land of Guanzhong. Li Jiancheng, who rushed to Taiyuan in a hurry, did not have his own army, and he was able to participate in the offensive and defensive battle of Chang'an so quickly, it should be that Father Li sent his own team to gather the righteous army to quickly form an army. Even so, the defenders of Chang'an still resisted fiercely, causing great trouble for the Tang army, Sun Hua was a giant in Guanzhong, and after being subdued by Li Yuan, he was named Doctor He (I don't remember) died because he took the lead and personally went to the city, which shows that although Chang'an is already a lonely city, the soldiers and generals are few but not to be underestimated. Li Jiancheng was able to get the first credit for capturing Chang'an, and it was also because under the repeated attacks of the Tang army, the defenders could not hold on.

So at this time, where did Li Shimin, who was not under Chang'an City, go, oh yes, he went to the west to resist Xue Ju, Xue Ju was not powerful, and then of course we said in unison: Of course it is amazing, it is simply too powerful, if it weren't for the Li family's Li Shimin, the demon of Li Shimin, this world might have to be surnamed Xue. However, at that time, the people in Li Tang did not pay enough attention to Xue Ju, Li Shimin went to the east after the victory in the first battle, and cooperated with the prince to attack Luoyang, and the war in the west was pushed to Liu Shirang, Dou Rail, Liu Xi, Li Shuliang and other local generals were responsible, not to mention whether all these generals had enough talent to block Xue Ju's ferocious offensive, that is, all walks of life did their own thing, and it was also a big failure in the overall strategic situation. The brave general Chang Da was also captured alive by Xue Rengao. Li Shuliang sent troops to rescue Jingzhou, but in the end he could only do it trapped in Jingzhou to defend himself, the Tang army's series of defeats not only lost their own strength, but also shook Guanzhong, Tang Gaozu's miser character attacked, wanted to keep his old book, so he came up with the idea of quitting Guanzhong and returning to Taiyuan.

Can Guanzhong be lost? Of course not, because once Guanzhong is lost, the morale will be dispersed, so Guanzhong must not give up until the last resort, so Li Tang had to give up the favorable situation of attacking Luoyang in the east, and the army returned to the division to fight against Xue Ju. It was because of this mentality that they wanted to end the war on the Western Front as much as possible and continue the offensive of continuing the favorable situation in the east, so they ignored Li Shimin's advice and tried in vain to send troops to fight for profit by virtue of their numerical superiority, but they were defeated in one fell swoop by Xue Ju, who was small in number but more brave and more stoic, causing an astonishing defeat in Asasuidahara, and Li Tang's foundation was even shaken by this. If it weren't for Li Shimin's last initiative to ask Ying, leading the remnants of the defeated army to defend to the death, firmly blocking Xue Ju so that he could not enter Guanzhong, then maybe history would really have to be rewritten, Xue Ju occupied Guanzhong, and Li Yuan retreated back to Taiyuan.
