Chapter Twenty-Four: Dan's Change

Previous Chapter

"Then why did you choose to tell me again?" Eligara asked softly, she wasn't angry with Dan, she was actually angry with herself. If it weren't for the fact that he was usually too timid and had to bear everything alone, maybe Danen would have told himself the pain he had suffered as soon as possible, instead of choosing to bear all this silently alone.

"That's because we're not in the ghost country now, and we don't have any shelter ability except ourselves, so only when we become strong ourselves, we won't be afraid. This is exactly the kind of opportunity that makes me feel that being a wizard is not a terrible thing. You see, I can still use magic to help us capture food, don't you think it's funny? Dann said lightly that he really wished he could become a wizard at this time, and he was still very resistant to such a thing until then.

Kaya, who was fishing with her bare hands, heard Dann's words and said happily, "I also think that it is a very fortunate thing to know magic, and if I can be like you, it is too late for me to be happy."

However, at this time, Kaya was catching the immovable fish that had been enchanted by Dan'en, and in just a few moments, he had already caught a lot of fish, enough for them to eat for a day.

Eligaira remembered the time when Dann had walked through the woods with her on her back, and she vaguely felt that the light around her was bright. At the time, she thought it was sunshine, but now that she thinks about it, it is not like that.

It's full of closed woods, and even if there is sunlight, it won't shine in, and the sun won't be as bright as that. I guess that's because Dan En used magic.

Suddenly, Eligara has a strong curiosity about Dane's magic, and she wants to know what else Dann doesn't know.

"What other magic do you have? Can you teach me? Hearing Eli Geira ask like this, Kaya couldn't help it, and asked:

"That's it, what kind of magic do you know, can you give us some magic?"

"I'm sorry, but I'm just using simple magic, like ...... Such. Dan En said, stretching out his palm, trying to make everyone see his movements. Then he silently recited a spell, and saw a flame in Dann's palm, and the flame shone on Eligera and Kaya's faces, and shone slightly.

With the fire, everyone can grill the fish, and gradually, a fragrance wafts from this valley. They hadn't eaten much in the past two days, but today, they were all very full.

The water of the stream tasted sweet, and after eating the fish, they drank some more of the water and then looked around. The valley was new to the three children, who carefully surveyed everything around them, fearing they would miss a major discovery.

Unfortunately, although they were sure in their hearts that there must be some secrets in this valley, they walked for a long time and did not find anything unusual. It's just a valley hidden in the Bone Grove, and the vegetation here is different from the Bone Grove, except for the regular caves.

But they also looked at the caves one by one, and there was nothing in them, and they also looked at the vegetation, and there was nothing special except for the bright colors.

They had come in with great hopes, but in the end they found that it was a valley, and there was no major discovery they had hoped for. This disappointed the three of them, and the more they did, the more they wanted to discover something here. So they went round and round and walked in this valley for half a day.

They didn't finish the fish they had grilled before, but at this time, Kaya had the leftover fish in his hand, and ate them as he went, and gradually, he ate all the remaining fish.

"How can you eat so much?" Eligara looked at Kaya in surprise, she was genuinely worried that Kaya's stomach would burst in the next moment. Thinking that he probably hadn't eaten a full meal for a long time, so he ate so desperately, he felt even more sympathy for this Kaya.

"I consume relatively quickly, in fact, I usually eat a lot, but my body grows slowly." Kaya said with a smile, and at that moment, Dann, who was walking in front, suddenly heard Eligara exclaim. He turned his head sharply to find Eligaira's face pale, her eyes fixed on her feet.

Following Eligaira's gaze, there was a cyan strip that was slowly crawling over Eligaira's feet. Eligara watched as the snake crawled over her feet, not daring to move.

Kaya, who was standing beside her, lowered her body and took the snake away with her hand. Strangely, the snake didn't struggle, but obediently let Kaya pick it up and put it down.

"How did you do that?" Eligara asked in shock, looking at Kaya's calm appearance, and she felt that he was not afraid of the snake at all.

"Don't forget, I've lived here since I was a child, and snakes are the most common sight in the woods. Now the snakes probably know me, so they know I won't hurt them. Kaya said calmly.

"You mean there's a lot of snakes here?" Dann asked, remembering the serpent that had eaten Eligara earlier. If there are a lot of snakes here, then the snake that I have seen before must be their snake king, and there must be their cave in the bone forest, and maybe Danen will be able to see the big snake again.

"Yes, there are many snakes in the bone forest, and no one can say how many snakes there are here, in short, there are a lot of them. But these snakes are harmless, they are very friendly, you don't have to be afraid of them. Kaya was worried that they would hurt them after knowing that there were still many snakes here, so he added the last sentence as a sign of comfort.

"How do you know they don't hurt?" Dan En said unhappily, thinking of the big snake, Dan En was a little angry.

"It's true, you see I've lived here alone for so long, if they hurt people, they would have eaten me a long time ago." Kaya's words made sense, but no matter what he said, Dan En would not change his attitude towards the serpent.

It was Eligaira, who heard Kaya say that there were many snakes in the bone grove, and suddenly became interested.

"Are those snakes really not going to hurt us?" Eli Geira asked

"Yes, I promise they won't hurt you, just like the snake just now, it just passed by inadvertently and didn't hurt you, did it?" Kaya saw that Eligara liked to hear her talk about snakes, and she began to talk more.
