Chapter 546: Insight into the world and keeping the precepts as one
However, Buddhism believes that all things are a temporary combination of the four elements of earth, fire, water, and wind, so all things have no inherent nature of their own.
Bao Zhi asked three or four times, and then said with a smile: "If the fixed and unchanging body nature is empty and unreal, this is also impossible, it is difficult to understand. His words always felt hazy and uncertain.
Bao Zhi is famous all over the world, and has performed miracles for more than 40 years, and there are countless men and women who have worshiped him.
In the winter of the thirteenth year of the Heavenly Prison, Bao Zhi suddenly said to people: "The Bodhisattva is leaving." ”
Within ten days, Bao Zhi died without illness, his body soft and fragrant, and his face bright and pleasant.
Bao Zhi's original surname is Song, a native of Jincheng, and his age should be around ninety-seven years old.
On the side of Shen Bridge near Jiankang, the capital of the Song Dynasty, there lived a well-known fortune teller.
This person's surname is Zhong Wuli, he once served as the county commander of Xindao, his family background believes in God, and he learned singing, dancing, drum music, and miscellaneous skills very early, especially good at divination.
Once he took a self-portrait in the mirror, he couldn't help but feel proud: "It won't be long before I will see the Son of Heaven." ”
So he started a fortune teller business in Shenqiao.
Zhong Wuli met with many people, saying that what will happen in the near future is all effective, and his reputation is getting bigger and bigger, and once he said to two people: "You will do the history of the Sanzhou Assassin, and you will be the third duke."
The first one is Zong Qing, who once made the grand wish of "riding the long wind and breaking the waves of thousands of miles", and the second is Shen Qing, who later soared.
The news spread quickly, and soon the matter was known to Song Taizu Liu Yu.
Liu Yu summoned him and asked him to face the prisoner who had made up beforehand and a beautiful slave.
He took the two of them to a moment's notice, pointed to the prisoner, and said, "You have many disasters and difficulties, and you must put on shackles when you step down the steps." ”
Then he said to the slave and maid, "You are a slut, but you have been spared for the time being." ”
Taizu was surprised when he heard this: it really lived up to his reputation.
He was asked to live in the back hall and learn about the secret art of yin and yang from time to time.
Soon, Zhong Wuli asked to become a monk, and Taizu asked three times in succession before agreeing to him.
He became a disciple of the Yuangong of Shanglin Temple and took the name of the Dharma Wish.
Emperor Xiaowu ascended the throne, and Zong Yu served as the assassin of Guangzhou, lived with the Dharma wish, and received the five precepts from him.
Soon the king of Qian rebelled and sent a message to the Lingnan area to call for it, Zong Yu couldn't make up his mind, and asked what to do with Fa Yuan, and Fa Yuan said: "Now that Taibai Xing has offended Nandou Xing, there will definitely be ministers to be killed, and now you should do this...... , hurry up and change your mind, you will get a great credit. ”
The result was exactly as the Dharma wished to say. Zong Yu was grateful to him, and later changed to the assassin of Yuzhou, and still took him there.
However, this is where he gets into trouble.
Once, he consulted with Zongyu and wanted to reduce the foot of the monk's bed so that it would be in line with the eight-finger system.
Who wanted to offend the monk who was alone in Jiangxi at that time, he angrily accused Fa Yuan of indiscriminately disciplining the monks.
With the status and reputation of the monk guide, the impact of such a thing can be imagined, and the matter soon reached the ears of Emperor Xiaowu, who ordered him to return to the capital quickly. As soon as Fa Yuan entered the palace, Emperor Xiaowu asked him: "Fa Yuan, why are you pretending to be a vegetarian?"
"The poor monk has been a vegetarian for ten years, and he has not pretended. Fa Yuan's face was calm, neither humble nor arrogant.
When Emperor Xiaowu saw that he dared to contradict himself, he immediately ordered angrily: "Shen Yuzhi, bring the meat, I don't think he will eat it?"
Zhige Shen Yuzhi took the meat and stuffed it into his mouth, Fa Yuan's lips were tightly closed, and the two tossed for a while, Fa Yuan's front teeth were lost two, and the meat was not swallowed at all.
Emperor Xiaowu's face changed, and finally ordered him to quit the Tao and return to the customs, be the general of Guangwu, and serve on duty in the Hualin Palace.
Fa Yuan did not continue to resist, he put on his helmet and armor, and became a general.
Although the Dharma vows are like ordinary people, they abide by the precepts of meditation and have never broken them.
Soon Emperor Xiaowu died, and the Empress Dowager Zhao made him a monk again.
In the first six years of Emperor Ming, the house of the longevity was a temple, named Zhengsheng, and the ceremony was invited to live.
After Qi replaced Song, Emperor Gao and Emperor Wu treated him with courtesy.
In the second year of Emperor Wu's Yongming, Fa Yuan's brother died, Fa Yuan returned to Beijing and lived in Xianggong Temple, Emperor Wu personally came to greet him, and Fa Yuan sent someone to tell: "The foot disease is not yet healed, and we can't see each other." ”
Emperor Wu turned around and went back.
Prince Wenhui went to Xianggong Temple to greet him, but he didn't even let him sit down, so the prince had to stand aside.
He cautiously asked the Dharma Yuan, "What kind of blessing should it be to make offerings to the Buddha with music, drumming, and cymbals?"
Dharma Yuan dismissed: "At the beginning, the Bodhisattva offered 80,000 pieces of music to the Buddha, but he couldn't take advantage of his wishes, and now you blow bamboo pipes and kill cowhides, what is there to say?"
At that time, the princes and nobles were ordained from him, and he wanted to see these people straight to the point, and there was no need to report them.
The fame of the Dharma Wish was prominent, and everyone gave alms as they pleased, and every day he received tens of thousands of dollars in money and goods.
Dharma vows do not accumulate savings, and they can be used to cultivate karma at any time.
He either hired people to worship the Buddha, lent people to fast, bought rice grains to feed the fish and birds, or bought food to give to the prisoners.
The merits are immeasurable and incalculable.
Fa Yuan and good at chanting, his method is different, his words are mixed, do what he wants, do not follow the rhyme, only focus on pulling out at any time, it can really be said that his wisdom is within reach, and his stupidity is unattainable.
Later, while meditating, he did not eat for three days.
Suddenly, he said to his disciples, "Your jobs are about to be lost." "Soon I was bedridden.
Soon the house next to the temple caught fire, and the temple was in the limelight, and the disciples looked at it: "You can't hide from anything!"
Then they discussed pulling the Dharma out in a cart.
As soon as his eyes were closed, he raised his hand and said, "The Buddha is about to be burned, what am I still alive for?"
On the bed, praising the Buddha and Bodhisattva, the fire burned across the temple, and the monks all bowed and sighed.
The ancestor of the law is a native of Yingchuan, and he was born in Wuxing.
He completed his journey in the second year of Yongyuan and died at the age of eighty-seven.
The high monks and monks of the Northern and Southern Dynasties were courteous to the four emperors at that time, and they were famous.
The monk became a monk at the age of fifteen and made listening to lectures and practicing on his own.
After receiving full ordination, the Sangha specialized in the study of Shobini.
Later, Sangha met Lena Sanzang and took Lena as his teacher.
Then, the monk listened to Master Guang's lecture on the Ten Lands and took the bodhisattva vows. After that, he went to the south and learned the theory of earth from Xu Bu.
After two years of monkhood, he has already made a name for himself.
Emperor Wei Xiaowen invited the monk to the family temple and asked him to preach the "Four Divisions".
Emperor Wu of Liang promoted Buddhism, and the monk went to meet him after hearing about it.
Emperor Wu asked Ma Yinjun to lead the monk to the Chongyun Temple Emperor to preach Buddhism.
The monk spoke from morning to night, and Emperor Wu of Liang was still very excited when he heard it, and ordered someone to light a lamp and continue to listen to the lecture.
As they spoke, the two of them looked outside, and it was already bright and bright. Emperor Wu of Liang smiled at the monk: "What the master said is something I have never heard before. It's really late to see each other. Please continue with the Master. ”
The monk spoke again. The next day passed, and Emperor Wu was still listening.
The ministers who had come to perform came and went, and they did not understand who fascinated the emperor so much. Day 3, Day 4,...... , the seventh day.
Seng Da spoke to Emperor Wu for seven days and seven nights.
At the end of the seventh day, Emperor Wu bowed to the monks.
"Master, the Dharma is so wonderful, disciples should take you as their teacher and take the ordination to practice. ”
Subsequently, Emperor Wu issued a decree to let the monk live in Tongtai Temple and provide a rich supply.
Every ten days, Emperor Wu had to invite monks to the palace once to teach him Buddhism.
A year later, Seng Da wanted to find a quiet place to practice Taoism, and asked Emperor Wu of Liang to return to Wei.
It was requested seven times before Emperor Wu of Liang granted it.
At that time, Hou Jing of Xingtai in Gunzhou had already built two temples for the monks.
After the monk left, Emperor Wu often bowed to the north, and he often said to his courtiers: "Master Luan and Master Da in the north are both bodhisattvas in the flesh. Liang Wu also issued an edict: "The eldest husband should realize that the body is the source of the truth of suffering, and it is difficult to maintain it for a long time."
Emperor Wu began to reduce the amount of food and clothing.
Later, Emperor Wu devoted himself to Buddhism several times, which was largely influenced by the monks.
After Seng Da returned to Wei, Emperor Wei asked his servant Gao Long to summon him to Ye.
The deposed emperor was ordained from the monks.
Soon, Emperor Qi Wenxuan used generous gifts to invite monks to preach the Dharma six times.
Emperor Wenxuan promised Seng Da that he would do ten good deeds, and Seng Da went.
Emperor Wenxuan knew that the monk Da loved the mountains and forests, so he passed the decree to build the Honggu Temple in the Huanghualing of Lin Shu Mountain, and abandoned the old Shenwu Temple, built the Dingkou Temple, and let the monk live in the two temples.
When the monk led the people to build the temple, the tiger squatted at the mouth of the valley, blocking the way into the mountain.
The monk stepped forward and saluted the tiger.
"We want to build a temple where merit can reach all living beings. If you allow it, please make way for us. ”
After saying that, the tiger left. After the temple was built, the monk arranged things and returned to the capital.
At night, a divine figure appeared in the monk's room, dressed in yellow, and walked up to the monk and said, "The disciple is Dai Shanhu, and the king is preparing an offering for you in the valley, and I hope you will go to the mountain soon."
The monk replied, "In the mountains and in Beijing, it all depends on whether it is beneficial to propagate the Dharma, and I will wait for the opportunity to move." ”
It was another quiet night, and a woman pushed the door open, claiming to be the wife of the mountain god.
She said to the Sangha, "I don't have time during the day, so now come and pay homage, and I will bring you a basket of cakes." Your virtue is profound, please bring the name of your disciple when you worship the Buddha, and let the Buddha protect the disciple. ”
Sangha told her to take the cake back. When you say it, you must worship the Buddha for her.
When the monk worshipped the Buddha, he asked the monks to say the name of the wife of the mountain god.
More than a month later, a tiger came to the monastery and took the dog away.
When the monk heard about this, he said, "This must be a small Taoist, and you must not neglect it." Ask for prayer for the benefactor. ”
When the tiger came to the courtyard again, the monk asked the tiger the reason for this, and the tiger said, "We haven't seen each other for a year, and I have come to read the Vima Sutra." ”
The monk immediately burned incense and worshiped the Buddha and said, "Yesterday we read many sutras, and the merit we received was the benefactor's. If my Buddha has a miracle, let the tiger put the dog back. ”
In the morning, the dog did come back with tooth marks on his neck.
On June 7, the seventh year of Qi Tianbao (Emperor Wenxuan), the monk felt a slight pain in his body, so he sat on the rope bed, reciting the "Prajna Sutra" in his mouth, and his body breath gradually calmed down in Honggu Temple, at the age of eighty-two.
Emperor Wenxuan was shocked when he heard that the monk had died. Immediately rushed to Honggu Temple, and cried loudly at the corpse of the monk, and the six armies who followed also wept in unison, and the cry shook the valley. Finally, Emperor Wenxuan issued an edict to bury the monk under the mountain rock and set up a monument.
