Chapter 477: Shaolin Temple
When he raised his head, he saw a white-haired woman standing in front of him, and said in surprise: "Xiaohuan, you are not dead." ”
With tears of joy in his eyes, Xiaohuan said, "Senior brother, I'm not dead, I played a scene with the Monkey King." ”
An Xiaoyu said: "Old monk, you didn't say goodbye later, today Xiaohuan lied to you with tears, and you evened it out." ”
He picked up a small ring corpse on the ground and said, "Monkey King, who is the corpse on the ground?"
An Xiaoyu grinned, pointed to the ground with his hand, and said, "Look." ”
Everyone looked at the ground again, Xiaohuan's body had turned into a golden monkey hair, and flew back to An Xiaoyu's body lightly.
He was shocked and said, "The Monkey King is really a monkey." ”
After an accident, Find, Hanshan, Xiaohuan untied the knot, but also put aside the love affair of youth, look down on life, Find, Hanshan Buddha and Zen, Xiaohuan settled near Hanshan Temple, the three of them finally broke through the red dust, soared to the Western Elysium, and finally achieved a positive result, this is a later story, not to mention for the time being.
When everyone left Hanshan Temple, An Xiaoyu asked, "Master, which temple should we go to next to deliver invitations?"
Jin Chan said: "My senior brother Mahakasya's twenty-seventh Buddha Prajnadora's apprentice Bodhidharma is practicing in Shaolin Temple, let's go to Shaolin Temple." ”
An Xiaoyu said: "Dharma, that Tianzhu country came to Dharma?"
Jin Chan said: "Wukong, have you also heard of Bodhidharma?"
An Xiaoyu said: "Of course I have heard it, that is the ancestor of our Chinese martial arts." ”
Jin Chan said: "Oh, it turns out that Bodhidharma is so famous in the Eastern world." ”
When everyone came to the bank of the Yangtze River, they saw a pavilion by the river, on which were written three big characters "Crossing the River Pavilion", and there were many reeds selling in addition to those selling food near the pavilion.
Everyone was curious, so they found a tea stall and sat down, ordered some snacks and tea, Zhu Ganglie asked the guy at the tea stall: "Little second brother, you guys sell food here is easy to understand, why are there so many reeds sellers?"
The guy said, "Childe, you're a foreigner, right?"
Zhu Ganglie said: "Yes." ”
The guy pointed to the pavilion next to him with his hand and said: "Childe, you see there is a pavilion called the River Crossing Pavilion, which is said to be the place where Master Bodhidharma crossed the river with a reed, so later some people seemed to imitate Master Bodhidharma to see if they had immortal fate, so there was a business of selling reeds." ”
An Xiaoyu said: "Little second brother, can you tell us the story of Bodhidharma and a reed crossing the river?"
The guy said, "Okay, as long as a few guests don't think I'm nagging." ”
The young man is also a person who likes to talk, so he told An Xiaoyu and others.
"I heard the little monk of Shaolin Temple say that Bodhidharma is the third son of the king of Tianzhu Guoxiangzhi, and since he was a child, he worshiped the twenty-seventh generation of Buddha Prajnadora of Shakyamuni's great disciple Mahakaya as a teacher, one day, Bodhidharma asked his master for advice and said: 'Master, I want to spread the Dharma, where is it better to go?' Prajnatara said: 'Bodhidharma, Buddhism in the East is relatively withered, you can go there to spread my Buddhist scriptures. ’
"Bodhidharma followed Master's instructions and got ready
Luggage, drove a flat boat, rode the wind and waves, crossed the ocean, took three years, experienced difficulties and twists and turns, came to China. After Bodhidharma arrived in China, he was reported to Emperor Wu of Liang by officials, and Emperor Wu of Liang immediately sent envoys to take Bodhidharma to Nanjing, wash the dust for him, and treat him with courtesy. ”
"Emperor Wu of Liang was an emperor who believed in Buddhism, and after he ascended the throne, he built temples, wrote scriptures, ordained monks, and made many statues, advocating self-liberation. Bodhidharma is a Mahayana school of Zen Buddhism that advocates meditation facing the wall and purifying sentient beings. Emperor Wu of Liang was very conceited and asked Bodhidharma, 'How much merit do I have for doing these things?' but Bodhidharma said, 'No merit.' Emperor Wu then asked, 'Why is there no merit?' and Bodhidharma said, 'This is a meritorious thing, not a real merit.' Because of their different views, whenever they talked about Buddhism, they always did not speculate. Bodhidharma felt that Nanjing was not a place to stay for a long time, so he said goodbye to Emperor Wu of Liang and crossed the river to the north.
"At that time, there was a high monk named Shenguang, who worshiped Bodhidharma's teachings very much, but he did not know Bodhidharma himself. One day, Shenguang was preaching the scriptures and teachings in Nanjing Yuhuatai, and for a time the brilliance appeared, euphemistic and beautiful, the earth gave birth to golden lotus, and the stubborn stone nodded. The onlookers were on the inside of the three floors and the outer three floors, and the water was impassable, and people nodded and praised one after another. ”
Bodhidharma saw a monk preaching the scriptures there, and he also squeezed into the crowd and listened. Bodhidharma nodded in some places, and shook his head in others. In the explanation, Shenguang found that there was a foreign monk who nodded sometimes and sometimes shook his head, thinking that this was a great disrespect to himself, so he asked Bodhidharma: "Why are you shaking your head?" Bodhidharma did not want to have a dispute with Shenguang, so he took the initiative to give in and left Yuhuatai to cross the river and go north. ”
"After Bodhidharma left, some of the audience said to Shenguang: 'Master Shenguang, do you know who that monk is just now? He is Bodhidharma, a high-ranking Indian monk, who is proficient in Buddhism and has great knowledge. When Shenguang heard this, he felt extremely ashamed, and when the monk arrived, he missed it and scolded him, which was really rude. So he chased after Bodhidharma and wanted to apologize. Bodhidharma walked in front, and Shenguang followed closely behind, until he came to the bank of the Yangtze River. Bodhidharma was in a hurry to cross the river and stop on the bank of the river, only to see that the water area was vast, that is, there was no bridge, no boat, and not even a figure. How can this cross the river? Bodhidharma was very anxious. At this helpless moment, Bodhidharma suddenly found an old lady sitting not far from the shore, with a bundle of reeds beside her, as if she was also waiting for a boat to cross the river. Bodhidharma then stepped forward, respectfully bowed to the old man, and said, "Old Bodhisattva, I want to cross the river, why don't I have a boat, please turn a reed into a reed for me, so that I can travel." ’”
The old lady looked up and saw a foreign monk standing in front of her, although his face was full of beard, curly and circling, and his figure was burly, but his eyes were bright, his demeanor was calm, his image was dignified, and his appearance was extraordinary. So he pulled out a reed and Dharma with his hand. Bodhidharma took the reed with both hands, thanked the old man and left, and to the river, he put the reed on the river, only to see a reed flower, head high, five reed leaves, flat stretched, Bodhidharma feet on the reed, fluttering across the Yangtze River. ”
Shenguang panted and chased to the river, seeing
As soon as Bodhidharma crossed the river with a reed, he ran to the old man in a hurry and did not ask about it, picked up a bundle of reeds beside the old man, pounced on it, threw it into the water, jumped on the reed bundle with both feet, and was about to cross the river. Strange to say, instead of moving forward, the bundle of reeds quickly sank into the water. Seeing that the situation was not good, Shenguang hurriedly swam back. Shenguang was drenched, and his heart was angry, and he complained: 'Donor, if you give him a reed to cross the river, why can't I get a bundle of reeds from you?'"
"The old man replied unhurriedly: 'He is the reed that has turned into my fate, and he has a share in helping others, and you are robbing my reed, and everything has its own fate, and there is no reason for it, how can you help each other?' When the divine light heard this, his face was full of shame, and he hurriedly apologized, and when he looked at the river again, the vast river was empty. At this time, Shenguang knew that he had lost something, and he sighed, calling the heavens and the earth, and he was very sad and returned with regret. ”
"After Bodhidharma's reed crossing the river', he stayed in Changlu Temple in Jiangbei, and then went to Dingshan Ruzen Monastery to stay in Xi, facing the wall to practice. Jozanji Temple still has relics such as Bodhidharma Rock, Banquet Stone, and Bodhidharma Portrait Tablet. A reed hall in Changlu Temple is built to commemorate Bodhidharma's visit to Changlu Temple after crossing the river. ”
An Xiaoyu said: "Master, you cheap apprentice still has some small means. ”
The young man didn't like to listen to it, and said: "Little monkey, you are not allowed to insult Master Bodhidharma, that reed crossing the river is a fairy spell, how can it be a small means?"
An Xiaoyu said: "Then what if I can cross the river with a reed?"
The young man said: "If you can cross the river with a reed, I won't charge you tea money today, count me as a treat." ”
An Xiaoyu was competitive and said, "Okay, little second brother, you can go and get a few reeds and see how we cross the river with one reed." ”
The people around heard that someone here wanted to cross the river with a reed, and they immediately came over to see the excitement, and some good people bought a few reeds and threw them in front of An Xiaoyu and others.
Xiao Er said: "Don't be reckless, if you can't swim, you will fall into the water for a while, hurry up and shout for help." ”
An Xiaoyu said: "Okay, you just put your heart in your stomach." ”
Jin Chan first felt that she was messing around, but then she thought that she had to hurry up, so she didn't stop her.
An Xiaoyu and the others took a reed, put it into the river, and then stepped on the reed and walked away.
Everyone on the shore was surprised at first, and then they knelt down and kowtowed, shouting: "Immortals, immortals!"
An Xiaoyu and others came to Shaolin Temple, and after the ceremony, a one-armed old monk led the monks out to greet them.
The one-armed old monk put his palms together and said: "Amitabha, old Na Huike, is the abbot of Shaolin Temple, I don't know why a few donors came to Shaolin?"
Jin Chan said: "Senior Brother Huike, I am Jin Chan of Leiyin Zen Temple, and I invited Shaolin Temple to participate in the Yu Lan Festival at the behest of the Buddha. ”
Hui Ke took the invitation and said, "Senior sister and donors, please." ”
Everyone entered the Shaolin Temple, and saw that the mountains here are surrounded, the woods are dense, the mountains are beautiful, the environment is quiet, the temple is magnificent, it is really a rare pure land of Buddhism.
Suddenly, An Xiaoyu said: "Master, there is also a picture of Bodhidharma and a reed crossing the river here." ”
The crowd looked at the mural
, sure enough, it is a picture of Bodhidharma crossing the river with a reed, and there is a poem on it: "The road crosses the water and meets again, crossing the river alone in the bleak and dark." Under the sun, the poor pair of elephant horses, the two tender Gui Jiuchangchang. ”
Zhu Ganglie said: "It seems that it is true that Dharma crossed the river with a reed, but I don't know if the Shenguang monk found Bodhidharma later?"
At this time, the accompanying abbot Hui Ke clasped his palms together and said: "Don't hide it from the donor, the poor monk is the divine light." ”
Zhu Ganglie was a little embarrassed and said: "You are Shenguang, I'm really embarrassed, isn't this called a bald man in front of the monk?"
An Xiaoyu patted Zhu Ganglie and said, "Old Zhu, don't talk nonsense, our master is also a monk." ”
Master Shenguang said with a flat face: "Amitabha, don't mind your donors, I have already worshiped Master Bodhidharma as a teacher, and in order to get the true transmission of Master Bodhidharma, I cut off an arm." ”
