Chapter 183: Nirvana

Deng Hong has been quiet now, Deng Hong is no longer as crazy as he was at the beginning, and has begun to lie down and sleep quietly.

But Wang Ming still needs a while, the diencephalon side is almost done, and the hypothalamus side will go again.

Speaking of the hierarchy of Buddhism, I have to mention one person, and that is the supreme Buddha, Shakyamuni.

Shakyamuni Buddha, an ancient Indian, means a saint from the Shakyamuni family. Also made: Shakyamuni, Gauja Yamuni, Shakyamuni, Shakyamuni. Abbreviated as Shakya, Muni, Vinni. It is also translated as: Nengren, Nengforbearance, Nenglone, Silence, Nengman, Duwojiao, or Sanskrit and Chinese translation, called Sakya silence.

Also known as: Shakyamuni Shizun, Shakyamuni. That is, the ancestor of Buddhism. The reason for its title can be found in the 20 volumes of the Buddha's Sutras, the 20th volume of the Miscellaneous Acts of the Sarvastivada Vinaya, and the 30th volume of the Abhidhama Gandharva. Shakyamuni was the crown prince of King Johan of the Acropolis of Kapila in North India.

The Buddha has eight phases of enlightenment, which refers to the eight stages of Shakyamuni Buddha's life. "Enlightenment" is the most important content of the "Eight Phases", and it is also the starting point of Shakyamuni's "Generational Teachings", also known as the "Eight Phases of Manifestation".

According to Buddhist scriptures, Shakyamuni had already attained enlightenment in the past, and in order to transform sentient beings, he "manifested" the eight forms and was born into the world at the right time. "The Buddha's Book of Writings" and other details introduce the content of the "Eight Phases".

"Myoho-renge-kyo" cloud Buddhas are the world-honored, and only one major event has appeared in the world for some reason. I want to make all sentient beings enlighten the Buddha's knowledge and make it pure, so that it will appear in the world. I want to show all living beings the knowledge of the Buddha and appear in the world. I want all beings to realize the Buddha's knowledge and appear in the world. I want all sentient beings to enter the Buddha and see the Tao and appear in the world.

Reduction rate

Shakyamuni became a Buddha and the dust of the sea for several eons, for the sake of all sentient beings, re-revealed that he was born in Central India three thousand years ago, and the Buddha showed his life to make up for the Bodhisattva before he was born. Yu Tushitian said. After that, in the hope that luck is coming, he will be a Buddha at the moment. After looking at the causes and conditions of the five events (1), he decided to be born in the kingdom of Kapila in Middle-earth, India, with King Johan and Queen Maya as his parents

Live in the tire

So the Bodhisattva took the six-tusked white elephant and moved into the mother's womb from the right flank of Lady Maya. The bodhisattva dwells in the womb, does not lose his wisdom, has sufficient righteous thoughts, and is pure and unstained. Shakya said the Dharma for the heavens in the womb, which is the "Theory of Faith", which opens the appearance of "dwelling in the womb". Shakya spoke for the heavens in the womb. This is the "Theory of Belief"

born

After being conceived in October, Mrs. Maya returned to her mother's home in Tianjian City to give birth, and set off under the escort of many guards. All the scenery was very pure and beautiful, when Lady Maya held the branches and leaves of the Sanssouci tree. The Buddha was at this time. Without any pain, he was born from the right flank of Lady Maya.

When the Buddha was born, there were all kinds of special appearances and auspicious signs, the earth had six auspicious vibrations, and the emperor and Brahma appeared in various incarnations to protect the surroundings; The Heavenly Maiden scatters flowers. After the birth of the Buddha, the Buddha immediately walked seven steps in the east, west, south and north directions. With every step, Baolian emerges to undertake the Buddha's feet. At that time, the Buddha pointed to the sky and the earth with one hand, and said: Heaven and the world, I am the only one; The Three Realms are suffering, and I should be at peace. This is the origin of the Buddha's manifestation of Buddhahood in the world. The origin of the heavenly dragon gods bathing the Buddha's body with the special and wonderful nectar became the origin of the Buddha bathing puja in later generations.

Monk

After the birth of the Buddha, he became the crown prince of the Kapila kingdom, and the name "Siddhartha" means "all righteousness, all things come true", and the Buddha's mother, Lady Maya, died seven days after the birth of Prince Siddhartha, and was reborn in the heavenly realm. The crown prince was cared for and nurtured by his aunt, Lady Mahaboyanpoti. The prince was gifted and intelligent, and since he was a child, he was proficient in the five Mings and the four Vedas (ancient Indian traditional thought), both civil and military, and his appearance was heroic, with 32 phases and 80 kinds of goodness, which no one can match. When he was 17 years old, he married Yasendhara as a concubine and gave birth to a son, named Rahula.

Although the life of the royal family was rich and comfortable, the crown prince did not covet the passions, desires and pleasures of these worlds. The prince once traveled from the four gates of the city, saw the phenomena of birth, old age, sickness, death, and the practitioners of the Tao, deeply felt the pain and impermanence of life, and then germinated the ambition of becoming a monk. At the age of nineteen, the prince left the palace at night and stripped himself as a sand gate. After visiting all the practitioners in the world, but none of them reached the state of liberation, the prince showed him that he was not in the end with his wisdom, and then went to the ascetic forest and began a six-year ascetic life. During the penance, the prince ate one hemp and one wheat every day, although his body was thin and thin, because he did not conform to the middle way, he did not attain enlightenment, so he went out of the ascetic forest. At this time, the five practitioners who practiced together mistakenly thought that the prince had lost his Dao heart, so they gave up.

The Bodhisattva (Prince) came to the Nirenzen River to bathe and receive the shepherdess's chyle offerings. After recovering his strength, he went to the Bodhi tree in Gaya's village, applied the Vajra seat with auspicious grass, and sat on his knees in the east, vowing to attain enlightenment.

Demon slayer

From time to time, the demon king wanted to be disturbed and did not want the bodhisattva to attain supreme liberation, so the dormant demon king Bo Shun sent all the witches to lure Siddhartha who was disturbing the meditation, but the bodhisattva was not confused at all. The demon king also sent all the evil rakshasas to coerce Siddhartha and throw all kinds of sharp weapons, but when these blades arrived in front of the immovable Bodhisattva Vajra Throne, they were scattered one by one like petals, and there were earth gods to prove the bodhisattva's immeasurable worldly wishes. In this way, the bodhisattva subdued the demon with compassion.

Enlightenment

Then the Bodhisattva understood all the Dharma with profound concentration, and attained the 12 profound causes and conditions of the above wisdom, and attained "supreme enlightenment" (see The Sutra of Past and Present Cause and Effect for details) when the Ming phase appeared. The world is known as "Buddha", and the Buddha's name is "Sakyamuni", when he was 30 years old.

Shakyamuni's asceticism, demon subjugation, and enlightenment were all witnessed by the prince's secret bodyguard, the Great Venerable Upali. When Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment, he said, "Wonderful, wonderful! All beings on the earth have wisdom and virtue, but they cannot attain it with delusional attachment. "It is pointed out that all sentient beings have Buddha nature and can become Buddhas.

parlance

After Shakyamuni Buddha manifested and achieved supreme enlightenment, in order to liberate sentient beings from suffering and enlighten them into the Buddha's knowledge, he began the 49-year cause of propagating the Dharma with immeasurable skill and convenience, and the immeasurable Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions also appeared in the world of sampa to help revitalize Buddhism and save sentient beings. Among them, the well-known ones are Guanyin Bodhisattva, Jizo Bodhisattva, Fuxian Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, Maitreya Bodhisattva, etc.

In the 49 years of Honghua career, the Buddha initially went straight to his heart, preached the "Huayan Sutra" for 21 days, and then observed the opportunity to tease the teaching, and said that the "Ahama Sutra" was 12 years, the "Fang and Wait Sutra" was 8 years, the "Prajna Sutra" was 22 years, and the "Lotus Sutra" and "Nirvana Sutra" were 8 years in total. This is a conference-style preaching, and I don't know how many times I have said about the individual edification. The Buddha taught according to his aptitude, ignited the budding, saved countless people from suffering, and influenced countless people to seek refuge and receive ordination. Because of the Buddha's teachings, countless sentient beings renounce evil and cultivate good, repent of their sinful karma, develop bodhichitta, and practice the Dharma. Those who have attained victory over the joy of happiness from this, those who are ultimately liberated, after all, those who have attained the supreme bodhi are immeasurable and boundless. For example, the Buddha preached the Four Noble Truths and the Five Aggregates to the five people who had first practiced with him, such as the Four Noble Truths and the Five Aggregates, in Sarnath, and the five of them were proved to be fruitful after hearing this, and they immediately became monks from the Buddha and took refuge in the Buddha. Since then, the Buddha has traveled all over the world and transformed the crowd. The Buddha's disciples included kings such as King Pinbhara and King Bosnia, and princesses such as Lady Wittig and Lady Mori, as well as Lotus and Modenga from the lower classes of society. The Buddha ordained the princes of Anarayu, Nanda, and Ananda to become monks, and did not abandon the low-status Upali and the dung-picker Nitti. All in all, the Buddha's propagation is to lead the people with compassion, lead the people with the Dharma, teach the people with wisdom, and nourish the people with the Dharma.

nirvana

In this way, it is said that after 49 years of life, karma is coming. It is also to enable sentient beings to cherish the Dharma and then practice the path to liberation, and the Buddha attained nirvana at the age of eighty.

On the occasion of Nirvana, all sentient beings cry out in sorrow, and all the Buddhas, the four bodhisattvas, and the eight heavenly dragons, and non-human beings come to gather, and the Buddha enlightens the masses with great compassion, and the Buddha-nature dwells in the true and unchangeable way, and always enjoys the righteousness of self-purity. He also taught that all sentient beings have Buddha nature, expounded that all living beings should attain great enlightenment, and explained all the bodhisattva teachings related to nirvana. In response to the four questions raised by Ananda, he instructed the disciples that after the Buddha has perished, they should take the precepts as their teacher, settle down with the four thoughts, subdue the wicked with silence, and set up "as I hear" at the head of all sutras to make people believe.

Tell the disciples, uphold the pure precepts, always be single-minded, diligently seek to debut, and always be kind in body, always in mouth, and always in mind. Zhongyun in "The Buddha Says Forty-two Chapters of the Sutra": The Buddha said, "The Buddha is thousands of miles away from me, remember my precepts, and you will get the fruit of the Tao." On my left and right, although I am often seen, if I do not obey my precepts, I will not be able to do the Tao. ’

Legend has it that as long as someone in the world begins to take refuge in Buddhism and begins to cultivate, a lotus bud will grow in the lotus pond of the Western world.

If this person succeeds in his practice, this bud will bloom into a beautiful lotus, so that the Western Buddhas will know that there are people in the mortal world who have succeeded in their cultivation, and they will send someone down to guide them...... (To be continued......)
