Chapter 140: Jessica Knox

The structure of the house is a mix of brick and wood, with a zigzag hillside next to the yard and a small meandering river next to it.

The cottage was skewed and jutted out of the middle towards the road, its roof was upside down like a beret, and the house was not as vertical as it could be.

But in any case, the warm light revealed in the house made Allen, who had been walking for a long time in the cold night, yearn for it.

The door creaked open, and a slender, handsome, blonde woman walked out.

The aroma of food slipped through the crack in the door, and the soft light stained the thick snow at the doorway with a golden glow.

"May I ask you—" The girl asked, confused.

"I'm Felius Flitwick, and this is Alan Harris, who has come all the way from England at the invitation of Mr. Leonard Knox. Thank you for your understanding. "Professor Flitwick is gentle and personable, and you can tell at first glance that he is a well-bred man.

"Ah, Uncle did say that, and today I received a letter from Uncle Knox that the two of you would be here. Come on in!"

As soon as Professor Flitwick and Alan stepped through the door, a large feather duster flew over and surrounded the two of them, gently whipping the snow off their bodies.

Entering the foyer, Alan found that the girl had turned on all the lights, and the yellow and white lights intertwined, illuminating the entire hall. Even though it's winter, the room is full of beautiful trees with gorgeous flowers.

Probably maintained by plant-based spells and time-based spells!Alan didn't know much about plants, and secretly speculated in his heart.

The whole room is not luxurious, but it is alive because of everyday magic.

An iron works automatically in the corner, a drying rack spins awkwardly in front of a fire, and two long purple knitting needles on a sofa intertwine automatically, weaving a square pattern in a few clicks.

On the green marble coffee table in front of the couch are scattered several magazines: "Friends of the Witches", "Whispers of the Witches", and "Transfiguration Today".

Alan guessed that the girl might have been knitting wool on the couch and reading a magazine, huh...... And drinking coffee. A cup of coffee with a lingering aroma sits quietly on the coffee table.

Allen's eye was drawn to the long table at the other end of the hall, filled with tempting treats: shiny grilled steaks, Buffalo spicy chicken wings stacked neatly on verdant vegetables, golden Alaskan pollock fillet, and cobb salad topped with assorted meats and garnished with avocado and cheese...... Sprinkled with a thick layer of fleshy fruit, eggnog occasionally populates a round bubble in a tall, transparent crystal jug.

Alan tried hard to restrain his desires, trying not to look at the sumptuous food at the table, so as not to be rude in front of the host's house.

"Ian, hurry up and get out, Uncle Knox's guests are here!" Jessica said a word to a bowl-shaped metal on the wall, and there was an urn sound from inside that replied, "Got it, Jessica, I'll come down right away!"

"Ian, my brother, loves to snuggle up in the room. At school, he's the first in his grade!" Jessica smiled proudly as she guided Professor Flitwick and Alan to the dining chair.

"My name is Jessica Knox, and I am Uncle Knox's niece, and you can tell me anything you need. ”

Jessica spoke, directing two white handkerchiefs to soak in hot water and wring them out, before flying in circles in front of Professor Flitwick and Alan.

Wiping his face and hands with a hot, clean handkerchief, Alan felt that the fatigue of the day seemed to disappear with this wipe.

Knock knock, a tall, lanky boy with stubborn short blond hair walked down the stairs.

He politely and distantly saluted Professor Flitwick and greeted Allen.

"Well, I think we can eat all this delicious food first, Uncle Knox may be able to come back when he doesn't have to wait for him. Jessica neatly commanded the knife and fork to divide the delicacies, and the food automatically jumped onto the plate in front of everyone.

The delicious food quickly warmed the atmosphere in the room, and the cool-looking teenager softened his expression, greedily munching on the charred steak on the outside and tender on the inside.

Professor Flitwick took a large sip of eggnog, and as he spoke, his thin voice became louder. This made the other three people laugh.

After a full meal, Professor Flitwick and Alan were accommodated in a room on the second floor, with two neat single beds looking very comfortable.

Professor Flitwick sorted out his salute, and Alan sat on the bed, flipping through a book of Self-Defense Charms kindly provided by Professor Flitwick, with some of Professor Flitwick's notes on it, and Alan read it with relish.

After a long while, Jessica, dressed in her patterned blue pajamas, knocked tentatively on the door, and when she got permission, she walked in with two cups of hot cocoa on a tray, and the cups of hot cocoa were still stirring automatically.

"I think you might want a hot drink!" Jessica carefully handed the cup to Professor Flitwick and Allen.

Professor Flitwick politely thanked him before taking the hot cocoa. Alan snapped the book in his hand on the bedside table, took the hot cocoa with both hands, and thanked him contentedly.

Jessica's eyes lit up when she saw the book that Eren had buttoned on the bedside table, and she pointed to the "Self-Defense Spells" and asked, "Is this the book you used in your Charms class?"

"Oh, is it? No. Actually, this is a book about Defence Against the Dark Arts. Alan said mildly.

"And this is your Defence Against the Dark Arts textbook?" Jessica asked with interest.

"Not really. Alan scratched his head and pulled the Defence Against the Dark Arts textbook that he had placed in his salute from the crowd. It's not hard at all, because there are so many of them.

"Well, these are the materials for our Defence Against the Dark Arts class. Alan graciously handed Jessica what looked like a new book.

Gilderoy Lockhart, with his curly blond hair on the cover, blinks insolently.

"Breaking with a Female Ghost by Gilderoy Lockhart", "Traveling with Ghouls" by Gilderoy Lockhart, "Vacation with a Dominatrix" by Gilderoy Lockhart...... Looks like this Gilderoy Lockhart is very good, seven books in a row!" Jessica flipped through with interest.

"Actually......" Alan thought for a moment, still not revealing Professor Lockhart's true face, "he's our Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. ”

"Wow, then he must be outstanding!" Jessica held the book, looking at Lockhart's bewildering smile, a little reluctant to return the book to Alan.
