Chapter 4: Born Actor

Before the two sides could speak, there was a knock on the door between auditions.

Tritsch was clearly aware of this, and after calling for him to come in, an overweight young man entered, and there was no doubt that even a cat could not share the door with him.

"Lang?" Michael looked at the comer, puzzled.

"Michael, I informed Mr. Liszt," Tritsch motioned for Liszt to sit down, "and he should be given another chance anyway, shouldn't he?" ”

Tritsch understands that Michael is not unhappy with Liszt, but Brian doesn't know what to be nervous about. But Brian is not so authoritative in the crew, as long as Michael persists, Liszt may not have a chance.

Tritsch really couldn't stand Brian's rejection of all of his candidates and found a rookie from the hot dog shop.

Michael's brown eyes moved, and he glanced at Daniel, not objecting to Tridge's assertions.

"Well, two lads," Michael crossed his hands in front of him, "I think you already know the story of this movie, especially Mr. Liszt. Of course, this is nothing, and if there is an opportunity to work together, there will naturally be a lot of time to get acquainted. So, today, I want to see your understanding of the character of Billy Bob, and what your performances and strengths are. ”

"Well...... "Well," Michael muttered for a moment and looked at Liszt, "Lang, you'd better come first." ”

It is true that Ron Liszt does not have much acting talent, and in fact he is not quite competitive other than the actual experience of a rugby team defender and his fat enough stature. But acting isn't that important for a campus movie full of young people, so he became the second candidate.

Lang clearly knows the story, and he plays out that after Bud once again scolds him for being a stupid pig, he seems to want to defend himself, but he is too reluctant to say anything because of Bud's authority.

It's a good audition subject, but it's clear that Lang is not a good student who is afraid of the teacher, and his submissiveness seems perfunctory and contrived, and there is no acting skills to speak of.

Michael and Tritsch are not surprised, should they expect Lang's acting skills to improve by leaps and bounds these days? It is better to believe that Daniel will be an Oscar seed.

"I think Long is very good, at least a real high school kid and has experience playing on the football team." Tritsch began lobbying Michael.

"Trickie, let's watch Mr. Sandler's performance and then talk about who is more appropriate, shall we?"

"Well, but he's not obviously fat enough, and he's too handsome." Tridge muttered.

Daniel has a bit of a headache, today is simply an accident, first said that he is the only audition actor, and then there is an extra competitor temporarily, and the attitude of the casting director can not be more obvious.

What's worse is that Michael seems to be touched.

"Daniel, you seem to be a little thinner than before, I mean the food show?"

Daniel had no intention of hiding it, "Yes, I was on a diet and exercising before, hoping to lose weight. ”

Michael nodded thoughtfully, and both Tritsch and Lang's eyes flashed with pleasure.

"Can you do the same performance as the part that Lang performed just now?"

"Of course, then please cooperate."

With that, all other ideas about casting vanished from Daniel's mind, and he sank into the character of Billy Bob.

He's fat, he's always behind, he's always ridiculed, but he loves rugby, he's attached to the feeling of running around the pitch sweating, and now, Bud, is calling him a stupid pig and threatening to kick him out of the Timberwolves.

Daniel looked up at Michael, and that was Bard in his eyes.

Michael shuddered, and Daniel's glance at him was like a bucket of cold water, aggrieved, indifferent, deeper unwillingness and fear, and resentment that seemed to be uncertain.

At a glance, Michael felt that he understood Billy, who was one of those backward students who had zĂ i in every high school, who were indifferent to all kinds of contempt, who had the occasional opportunity but were always afraid of losing, unwilling to remain lurking in their hearts, and in the deepest part, there was an unspeakable cynicism.

Daniel opened his mouth to say something, his hands twisted into his clothes, his body seemed to tremble slightly, showing that the massive body seemed vulnerable to Bard.

The head hangs, but the backbone is still slightly erect, as if waiting, waiting for the verdict to be announced.

"Coach, I-"

A jerky expression and tone of a high school student.

Ron Liszt just thinks Daniel is very much like one of his former classmates, fat and inferior, as he was when he was not allowed to attend the Easter King's Gala.

But in the eyes of Triitch and Michael, especially Michael, it was very different.

Some people may have been born to eat the bowl of rice of actors.

"Ahem," Michael didn't look at Trich again, "Lang, I'm sorry to let you run again, if I have the chance next time, I'd love to work with you, you're excellent." ”

Of course Ron understood what that meant, and he patted Daniel on the shoulder, "Man, congratulations. ”

"Uh," Daniel tilted his head, "I'd like to say thank you later." ”

Yes, Michael hasn't said he's going to hire him yet.

"Danny," Michael was much warmer than before, though he had always been mild-mannered, "yes, the character belongs to you, if you're willing to gain some weight." ”

"Of course."

Fattening is nothing, for a tens of millions of investment opportunities.

……

"Brian, you've really picked up a treasure this time." Michael almost couldn't wait to call Brian, who was far away in New York, "He's just a natural actor." ”

"Although I'm glad you're happy with his performance, isn't that too exaggerated."

"No, it's not an exaggeration at all," Michael shook his head repeatedly, of course, completely invisible on the other side of the phone, "Of course, maybe these young actors are not very mature, even James, which is why I am impressed with Daniel." But that doesn't overshadow Daniel's acting talent, and I can't believe it, he's only 19 years old and has been working at a hot dog shop before. ”

"Oh, oh, well," Brian was also curious, "after the official shooting, let me take a good look at his genius performance." By the way, how much did you ask, five thousand dollars? ”

The previous Billy Bob was at this price.

James got $300,000, Paul Walker only had $100,000, and Daniel, $5,000 was a reasonable price.

"Ten thousand dollars," Michael said, "Brian, he's definitely worth ten thousand dollars." ”

Whether it's ten thousand or five thousand, for a fifteen million investment, it doesn't make much difference, but Michael is so irrational that Brian is quite surprised, well, he can't wait to see Daniel's performance.
