CHAPTER IX
Overtime, just came back, updated a chapter.
Rhaegar lay quietly in the grass, his whole body blending in with his surroundings under the cover of magic and stealth skills, and dozens of meters away from him, the Kekgarns were happily sending their prey into their lair.
The geist didn't attack immediately, Kekgarn is a very alert creature, and a rash attack will inevitably cause a lot of fish to slip through the net until the whereabouts of all the little monsters are determined, and those survivors who are good at hiding their tracks and are extremely vindictive will be a big problem in the future journey.
The little monsters did not notice the threat from not far away, and with the help of their companions, the Kekgarn who had gone out hunting successfully carried the disintegrated body of the giant ape up the tall tree. A moment later, with a sharp whistling, about a few dozen kkegarn slid down from the tree, formed a circle below the tallest one of the ancient trees where their nests were located, and began to dance around the trees—a ritual handed down from their homeland, where all the giant trees that became their nests were considered the mother of the tribe, and they performed this ritual whenever they harvested abundant food to thank their mother for her protection.
This was undoubtedly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Rhaeggar, and after several repeated scans with his mental power, he finally confirmed that all the Kekgarn had appeared in front of him, and the next moment, the geist who was determined to kill them all finally released a magic that had been gathering power for a long time.
As the giant python made of flames soared and pounced on Kekgarn, great fear enveloped the little monsters, who screamed in panic and fled in all directions like driven beasts, trying to escape their charred fate.
This result had long been expected by Rhaegar, and with a thought, the python suddenly broke into several smaller fiery snakes, shooting at the small monsters that were fleeing in all directions at a speed ten times faster than before.
These little fiery snakes were less than a tenth of their power before they were decomposed, but for the Kekgarns, whose physical strength was even inferior to that of humans, it was enough to kill them, and dozens of fiery snakes hit their targets almost at the same moment, and in an instant, one of Henor's most cunning and dangerous predators was all reduced to ashes.
Rhaegar's body jumped briskly in the grass, with the explosive power of his legs and special luck skills, each of his jumps was at least seven or eight meters away, and within a few seconds, the geist had reached the bottom of the tree where Kekgarn was holding the sacrifice, and then, the geist jumped up, used his hands and feet together, and quickly climbed up the tree.
Kekgarn was no stranger to Rhaegar and, in fact, he had studied the creatures up close as he had studied them since he was a student in the God of the Storm, and he knew quite a bit about their habits. Despite their unpleasant appearance, and their abhorrent habit of treating all creatures they come across as prey, these little monsters still have a value for their existence - Kekgarn likes to use the fluid secreted by the glands in his mouth as the glue to the parts of the lair, and for the mages, the crystals formed by the solidification of the slime are excellent magical ingredients.
Ten seconds later, Rhaegar appeared on the canopy of the tree, where a spherical object made of branches and about three meters in diameter was cleverly hidden among the dense foliage, and no one could detect its existence unless they climbed to the top of the tree.
An invisible force field appeared on the periphery of Rhaeggar's body, and everywhere he passed, the branches and leaves that stood in the way were all divided by the invisible hands, and without any effort, the geist easily came to the lair of Kekgarn. The next moment, an arrow of flame struck the wooden orb, quickly igniting it, and then, before the flames could spread around, a transparent magic shield enveloped the nest, which had become a large ball of fire, making it incapable of affecting the entire canopy.
This is a common tactic used by mages to collect the slime of Kekgarn, and instead of patiently scraping the solidified slime off the wood, they use heat to melt it again and then use magic to separate it from the ashes.
The lair of Kekgarn was scattered over a dozen or so adjacent giant trees, connected to each other by small but strong ropes, which were simply not visible from the ground, and Kekgarn's weight was the maximum weight they could bear, except for those little monsters, no one had the guts and ability to use these ropes to move freely between the different large trees.
Such obstacles could not stump a mage, though, and with his weight-reducing magic and superb balance, Rhaegar walked on these ropes with even more ease than his master, and he walked past the lair of Kekgarn one by one, setting them on fire one by one, ready to harvest the spoils soon after.
A strange wave of energy reached Rhaegar as he was about to ignite the last lair, the fluctuation was so faint that Rhaegar couldn't even detect its presence if he didn't get closer, and he could feel it, though it was too faint to be indistinct, the fluctuation seemed to convey some kind of message.
Mages are always the most curious people in the world, even undead like Rhaegar are no exception, and the geist stops the spell in his hand and instead uses a magic missile to create a large hole in Kekgarn's lair.
Through a large hole nearly a meter in diameter, in the dappled sunlight that shone from between the branches and leaves, Rhaegar could clearly see a crystal glittering in a corner of the lair, among the scattered food and objects.
Just as a hungry and thirsty person in the desert suddenly notices someone passing by in the distance, and thus suddenly bursts out of his life potential under the instinct of survival, when he is seen by Rhaegar, the fluctuations emitted by the crystal suddenly become violent and clear, and the spirit can clearly feel the meaning. SOS - yes, this crystal is calling for help.
Rhaegar raised his hand slightly, and the crystal placed in the corner flew towards him with an invisible force, landing in the palm of his hand.
If before that, Rhaegar was only interested in the crystal out of curiosity, then at this moment, after touching the latter with his own hands, he was completely attracted to this crystal: this is not an ordinary crystal, in fact, except for the appearance of the crystal, it is not the same as the crystal, its hardness even exceeds that of pure gold, and at the same time it has a good toughness, holding it in his hand, the geist can clearly feel the excellent elasticity of this crystal-like thing, it is obvious, this does not belong to any substance he knows.
No mage can resist the temptation to study something new, even the undead like Rhaegar. However, as he concentrated all his energy and prepared to study the object in his hand further, the fluctuations that had been emitted from the crystal suddenly disappeared without a trace, and before the geist could react to it, the entire crystal suddenly turned into a watery liquid, and in an instant it burrowed into his body from Rhaegar's palm.
Something wonderful happened. At the same time as entering the geist's body, most of the crystals that turned into liquid quickly dissolved into the blood of Rhaegar's body, and then flowed to every part of the body, infiltrating into every cell, and the rest came to Rhaegar's heart, where it merged with the entire heart, and continuously converted the part of the blood that flowed back to the heart into a liquid of the same nature, and then flowed again to the whole body.
It's a primordial world, where there's no light, no sound, no color, just boundless chaos. However, the wandering spirit did not feel the slightest loneliness, in this chaos, he seemed to be a fetus in his mother's **, and all he felt was warmth and safety.
A tall figure wrapped in a black robe stood silently across from him - it may be paradoxical to say that, since there was no color here, and everything could only be seen in the outline of gray lines, but Rhaegar did see the color of the other man's clothes, but nothing more, because the latter's face was always hidden in shadow. Looking at this figure, which seemed to be out of place with its surroundings, but seemed to be one with it, Rhaegar was surprised to find that he could not develop any hostility towards it, as if an instinctive voice was telling him that the other party would never hurt him.
No one spoke, and the two stood face to face, and Rhaegar seemed to understand a lot of things all of a sudden, but when he thought about it, he realized that there was nothing more in his soul.
"It's too early," a dry, cold, but incomparably cordial voice sounded directly within his soul, "We'll meet again." ”
An invisible but irresistible force quietly enveloped the geist, and before he could resist, it took him out of the chaotic world, and the next moment, when Rhaegar opened his eyes, he found himself still standing in front of the lair of the last of Kkgarn, and nothing had changed except for the vanished crystal.
However, Rhaegar could clearly feel the changes that had taken place in his body: after two transformations, the physical body of the geist was beyond the scope of normal humans, whether it was strength, speed, endurance or reflexes, it had reached a height that even the best warriors could not reach, and more importantly, his physical strength had been strengthened to the maximum, neither swords nor flames could cause him any damage. However, compared to his current body, his former physical body was simply a scarecrow in front of the earth elemental.
