Chapter IV

Heim knew that they would never be able to stay in the city any longer after something like that, that the city guards would tell everyone that they were a group of criminals, and that the fight that had just taken place in the tavern would be described as a resistance to arrest, and that they would have to leave the city before the city guards could act.

"What do we do next?" asked Nack, the big man with all the mounts after leaving the tavern, "our supplies haven't been replenished yet, and this is the only city before entering the swamp, and more importantly, we haven't found a guide yet." ”

"There are some villages between here and the swamp," said Haim, as he hurried along, "we can go there and try it, and as for the guides, our opponents can even be bribed by the sheriff, and here we may not be able to find anyone we can trust for the time being." ”

"Catch them!" Before they were about to leave the bustling neighborhood, a group of soldiers from the city guards appeared in front of them, apparently there was some unknown quick and easy communication between the sheriffs and their colleagues, "they are criminals!"

Before Heim could make a decision, Willy had already drawn her weapon and charged at the soldiers, the beautiful warrior who seemed to be born with a belligerent factor in her blood.

"This is the only way out of the city," said Haim to his companions, "Nack take care of the horses, and we will rush out!" A slender sword suddenly appeared in the elf's hand, and while the words were still ringing in the ears, he appeared in the midst of the enemy, and even Willy, who was the first to rush forward, fell behind him.

There were about twenty soldiers in this group, and they belonged to the patrol under the city defense team, and in this city, where all kinds of brawls occurred every day, they could be said to be experienced in a hundred battles, and any one of them could easily deal with two or three strong men.

However, in front of these explorers, they were like children fighting with adults, and as soon as they came into contact, Heim's swift and unpredictable sword stabbed the joints of both men—and even then, the elves were reluctant to kill their opponents easily.

Wei Li, who was following him closely, had no such scruples, the female warrior first swung her giant sword violently, smashing the first soldier facing her with the sword to the side, and then, she dodged the sword stabbed from the side, and her pink fist shattered the bridge of the nose of the sneak attacker in the next second.

The roar of the dwarven battle was a hallmark unique to the dwarven battle axe, and in the deafening roar, his body spun and crashed into the enemy, the wheel-like double-edged axe used the inertia generated by the rotation to knock three swords flying, and then, before the fourth opponent's sword fell, the dwarf's huge head slammed into the former's stomach, and the poor opponent immediately fell to the ground in pain and spasmed.

No one dared to make a move on Nack, even if he was leading a horse, even if he didn't have a weapon in his hand, his height and the size of a hill that was half taller than anyone else was enough to scare anyone away.

Heim dodged attacks from all directions like a butterfly through the flowers, and with each stab of his sword an opponent fell, six people had been wounded by his sword and withdrawn from the fight. The elf had not focused all his energy on the battle, and had already spotted the new enemies by the same time that another group of soldiers appeared at the intersection behind them.

"Get out of here!" he shouted at Willy and Tomahawk, who were chasing down their rivals like lions chasing their prey, "don't fall in love with war, there will be more and more of them!"

Despite their belligerent nature, Willy and Tomahawk were not only madmen who knew how to fight, they knew their situation well, and after defeating the enemy who was intercepting them head-on, the members of the expedition team mounted their horses and galloped towards the city gates - all of them had taken refuge in safe places during the battle, and the streets were wide enough for them to gallop.

However, when they reached the city gate, the heavy gate was slowly closing, and a large number of city defense soldiers were waiting in front of the city gate, and with the help of a unique method of communication, the soldiers here had already received the news that several vicious criminals had fled here.

"Nack!" Heim shouted, as he first dashed into the enemy, his sword turning into a blur that was indistinguishable to the naked eye, stabbing down two soldiers who tried to attack him in an instant.

The only giant on foot among the four roared and strode towards the enemy, a huge war hammer appeared in his hand, and with a flick of it, five or six opponents flew out like straw in the wind, and in less than half a minute, he had easily penetrated the defense line of the city defense team, came to the closed city gate, and then raised the war hammer and smashed it towards the oak gate wrapped in thick iron sheets.

The loud bang was terrifying, the heavy gates trembled under Nack's hammer, and cracks gradually appeared on the gates with the knocking, maybe the next minute, maybe the next second, the city of Hanar would have to change again.

Several long arrows whizzed through the air and shot at Nack as he could concentrate on destroying the gates, but before they could reach their target, Willy's greatsword knocked them down, and then the enraged warrior slashed the arm of one of the nearest soldiers, while protecting Nack's back.

However, more and more arrows were being fired, and as the expedition and the defenders of the gates fought, more and more soldiers came from all over the city, and around them, at least one hundred and fifty soldiers formed a tight encirclement, and with the cooperation of bows and spears, the three men covering Nack's retreat step by step.

"How long will you have to go, Nack?" roared the dwarf, slashing off one of the spears that had stabbed him, as he was forced to abandon his mount at the beginning of the battle—no dwarf could fight on horseback.

Willy's horse fell forward suddenly, and an arrow struck it in the neck, and the unsuspecting warrior fell from her horse, and before she could rise from the ground, three spears and two swords fell on her.

Without warning, a ball of light appeared over the battlefield, and the dazzling light pierced everyone's eyes, both the expedition team and the soldiers besieging them, all covering their eyes in pain at the same moment, and then, before sight could be restored, a gust of wind howled and swept through the open space in front of the city gates.

In the wind, Willy, who was stabbed in the eye like everyone else, heard a man's voice ringing beside her, although she had never heard this voice before, she involuntarily stretched out her hand according to the other party's instructions, and the next moment, a rope wrapped around her arm and flew up with her body.
