Chapter 449: Marine Development
On February 1, Taoyuan Group's real room used nanotechnology and biotechnology to obtain an epoch-making new seawater desalination technology.
The so-called seawater desalination is the process of removing the salt in seawater to obtain fresh water, also known as seawater desalination.
At present, there are more than 20 kinds of seawater desalination technologies used, including reverse osmosis, multi-stage flash evaporation, electrodialysis, autoclave distillation, seawater freezing method, dew point evaporation method, hydropower cogeneration, thermal film co-generation and so on.
Sometimes table salt is also produced as a by-product.
However, more often than not, a large amount of concentrated brine produced by desalination is discharged back into the sea, resulting in an increase in the salt content of seawater in the local sea area and destroying the ecological balance of the sea area.
As we all know, seawater is actually a "multi-element liquid mine", rich in chlorine, sodium, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, potassium, bromine, carbon, strontium, boron, silicon, uranium and other more than 80 elements, and its compounds are more diverse.
Not only are almost all natural elements found on land in seawater, but there are 17 elements that are rare on land.
The new technology developed by Taoyuan Group can not only desalinate seawater, but also refine and recover chemical products in the process of seawater desalination, such as potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate, sodium sulfate, sodium carbonate, etc.
Seawater desalination has always been a high-energy-consuming field, but Taoyuan Group has used low-energy nanotechnology and biotechnology, and its operating cost of seawater desalination is much lower than all current desalination technologies.
Based on the industrial scale of desalination of 10,000 tons of fresh water per day, the daily comprehensive production cost is only 30,000 yuan, which is lower than the price of industrial water, and the income can be as high as more than 180,000 yuan.
It's simply a profitable and profitable business.
Predictable. One day in the future. All other desalination technologies will now be phased out.
Shortly thereafter. Taoyuan Group has set up a marine development company to specialize in matters related to marine development in addition to mining.
At present, the global population is still growing, while freshwater resources are constantly depleted, which has become the biggest threat to human survival, and seawater desalination has become the last line of defense and sustenance to solve the water crisis.
Xinhua has less than one-third of the world's per capita water resources and is listed as one of the 13 water-poor countries by the United Nations.
According to a survey, more than 420 of the country's 661 cities are short of water, with a water shortage of about 7 billion cubic meters.
Most of the cities along the long coastline of Xinhuaguo. The per capita freshwater resources are only 160 cubic meters, and they are "thirsty when they stand by the sea".
Water scarcity, rising water prices and industrial demand for water have made desalination more and more important to the state.
Worldwide, the desalination industry is showing vigorous vitality, with desalination projects reaching $63 billion in 2016 and growing at a rate of 30% per year.
Taoyuan Group has been preparing funds to establish 15 large-scale desalination plants in coastal cities such as seaports, of which the largest desalination plant will have a total daily output of 650,000 tons, becoming the largest desalination base in China.
After the initial results are obtained, the method of technology licensing will be used. Extended to all coastal cities.
In addition, Taoyuan Marine Development Company is ready to launch development plans such as marine farms and marine ranches step by step.
Everyone knows the vegetables of the sea. Species such as kelp, seaweed, wakame and sea grapes are all traditional types of sea vegetables.
However, many people are already planting these marine green plants, and there is no need for Taoyuan Group to rob everyone's jobs.
Scientists in the Marine Plant Office have cultivated a new type of seaweed, which can produce 15 tons of crude protein from one hectare of sea surface, which is equivalent to 30 hectares of soybeans planted on land, and has a very high economic value.
If extended to the world's offshore waters, seaweed production would be 15 times higher than the world's wheat yield.
According to the surveys and studies of scientists, the total number of animals and plants in the ocean every year is hundreds of millions to billions of tons. Now, humans only use about 2% of its total amount every year.
If human beings can "cultivate" the available sea area and set up marine farms in the ocean without destroying the ecological balance while increasing the production of marine animals and plants, the ocean can become a vast and high-yield protein production base.
Then, the ocean can provide tens of billions of tons of food to mankind every year, completely solving the problem of food shortage.
Marine ranches are used to breed marine animals with high economic value, and use sound gratings, sound waves, etc. to create invisible cages, and breed fish in the ocean, no longer need tools such as cages.
The rich and colorful flora and fauna resources in the ocean are also an inexhaustible treasure trove of medicine for mankind.
In short, the ocean provides an extremely rich and valuable resource for the survival of mankind, and as long as human beings can develop and utilize it rationally and recycled, it will be inexhaustible.
Taoyuan Group is even ambitious to build a floating "ocean city"!
The earth's land resources are becoming less and less, and the future residential cities can only develop to the sea, the sky, and the underground.
With a population of nearly 1.4 billion, most of them living in coastal areas, the country is very crowded and necessitates urban expansion to the water surface that occupies 71% of the earth's surface.
Scientists predict that by the end of the 21st century at the latest, one in ten of humanity's population will move to ocean cities.
The planned "Ocean City" will include both water and underwater parts, with the water part covering an area of more than 1,000 hectares, and more than half of them are parks, museums, swimming pools, stadiums, playgrounds and other entertainment venues, with an extremely high rate of greening.
But most of the facilities will be below the surface for residents to work, play, shop and live.
The ocean city will be completely self-sufficient with its own airport, port, as well as farms and garbage disposal systems.
Transport is carried out by air and underwater passages and submarines.
The city will be built on land in the form of huge sections and then assembled at sea like tangrams, so the construction is extremely fast, and Ye Quan hopes to be completed by 2021.
Prior to this, Taoyuan Group decided to build an undersea hotel as a test.
The location of the hotel is more than 20 kilometers from the East Port, and it is located under the water at a depth of 26 meters, which is rich in marine life.
The hotel has 81 blister-style underwater plexiglas suites that can accommodate hundreds of guests, and visitors can only access the hotel by guò submarine.
In fact, there are quite a few underwater structures in the world that are under construction or have already been built.
For example, the Jules Undersea Hotel in Florida, located 7 meters underwater, was converted in 1986 from a real room of the ocean, each room is equipped with a video camera, air conditioning, hot water, microwave and refrigerator, and a 42-inch round glass window through guò, which can enjoy the underwater life and scenery, providing visitors with the wonderful enjoyment of spending the night in the ocean.
Dubai's water frisbee hotel is under construction, which is expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars, including 21 suites spread across two disc buildings above and below the water.
Submerged at a depth of 11.6 meters, the underwater disc structure uses special lighting technology that allows guests to view the marine flora and fauna from a quiet distance through the windows.
After entering 2017, Kyushu Shipyard launched three energy-saving and environmentally friendly civil all-electric submarines.
The smallest of them is a miniature private submarine, which is 6.5 meters long, 2 meters high and 2 meters wide, and can only accommodate 2 members, and can dive to a depth of more than 50 meters and a dive time of up to 5 hours.
This miniature submarine can be used not only for underwater sightseeing, but also for coastal aquaculture.
The small submarine is 10.8 meters long, 3 meters high and 3.6 meters wide, with an underwater speed of up to 30 knots and a maximum diving depth of 250 meters.
The medium-sized submarine is 14.2 meters long, 3.8 meters wide at its widest point and 4.4 meters high, with a maximum speed of 33 knots underwater and 40 knots on the water, a cruising range of 400 nautical miles and a maximum depth of 300 meters.
The submarine also has advanced equipment such as desalination, air conditioning, oxygen generation, radar and sonar, as well as refrigerators, televisions and other electrical appliances.
In addition to being used for underwater sightseeing and ocean exploration, it can also be used as a yacht after modification.
Moreover, the shell of the whole submarine is made of a large number of nanocomposite materials, which are transparent throughout, and have the characteristics of light material, high hardness, low resistance and strong compressive ability.
It is also possible to change the color of the hull from transparent to translucent or to change the exterior color of the hull as required.
Fearing that submarines would be used for criminal activities such as smuggling and drug trafficking, the submarines sold at the Kyushu shipyard either limited their range or made a lot of demands on buyers. (To be continued......)
