Idols love home, too!
Nogizaka 46 Ikoma Rina blew herself up and loved it like crazy
As the official competitor of AKB48, the move of "Nogizaka 46" has also attracted the attention of countless fans. And one of the members of Nogizaka 46, Rina Koma, is also the target of many people's push. However, one of the important reasons why she is so loved is that she has more than 1,000 comics at home, and she is an out-and-out comic maniac. In fact, not only comics, but also works in related fields such as animation and light novels are all within her scope. So why is she so interested in anime? Recently, a Japanese media conducted an exclusive interview with her, let's reveal the mystery below!
Reading manga is like breathing
Ikoma: Anyway, I'm a big fan of manga. The world of the comics is something that I would never be able to experience, and I want to immerse myself in this extraordinary feeling. No matter how busy you are at work, you can relax by reading comics, and when you are in the car, I think "Do you want to take a break?" Then definitely go and read the manga. Because of this, as long as I don't feel sick physically, I don't feel motion sickness even if I read manga in the car (laughs). On the other hand, if I don't read manga for a long time, I will feel very irritated. For me, reading comics is more of a physical part than a part of life. It's the same as breathing and beating the heart. As long as I have time, I will always read manga unless someone stops me. Every time, I complain "Ah, I'm seeing a wonderful place~!" "Then I was dragged to work.
Q: We've learned that the reason why you were immersed in the world of manga was because you borrowed manga from a friend when you were in junior high school.
Ikoma: Actually, my parents loved manga, and I had a lot of books at home since I was born, so I'm a genetically good person who reads manga. When I was in elementary school, I used to read shoujo manga just there, such as "CIAO" and "RIBON". When I was in the first year of junior high school, a friend lent me "Gintama" to watch, which also changed Yiqiē. "Gintama", the protagonist Ah Yin said the line when he first appeared on the stage, "Chirp crookedly and quarrel to death, are you in estrus bastards". And then I was immediately intrigued: "What is this!?" I've never seen a hero like this! And the clever and funny scenes in the work, even middle school students can find "interesting!" But not only that, in some of the long stories of Yan Sù, Ah Yin also showed us a handsome side. In such a comic, there are many elements depicted. Then I started reading "Weekly Shonen Jump" and began to follow the attitude of the protagonists who worked hard to achieve a certain goal, took risks with their peers, and moved towards their dreams. My favorite work is Naruto. Save up the chakra to release the Spiral Pill, although I definitely can't do these moves, but I still think the appearance of releasing the ultimate move is very handsome and charming.
Q: What are your favorite works lately?
Ikoma: Hmm~ What about this...... I've watched "Black Butler", "Haiyue Ji" and "The Strange Classmate Next Door...... Ah, and "The Seven Deadly Sins", "One Punch Man", "Yokai Watch", "Assassination Classroom", "Volleyball Junior!! 》。 In addition, I have also watched "Asian", of course, "Attack on Titan" needless to say. There are also "Captive of Food", "Kuroko's Basketball", "Fraud Game", "Blue Exorcist", ...... And also......
Q: I've seen almost everything I can see (laughs).
Ikoma: I've seen it almost all (laughs). If you don't see it now, you'll have a lot of works you want to see in the future. However, I don't know exactly what each work is......
If I had to choose 3 recommended works, then the first one would definitely be "Black Butler". The style of painting is very beautiful, very beautiful, and the profession of deacon is also very impressive, so it is easy to get attention. Of course, the plot itself is also very interesting. Although the story unfolds is definitely not comedy, there is also a funny component, and there is a beauty in the sad atmosphere. I have a great vision for the world view of the whole work. Although I basically read it through a single book, sometimes I can't help it, and I buy a magazine ("Monthly G" Gファンタジー). It's a work that often gives me ideals.
The second is "The Silver Key". Although I like fantasy for the most part, especially works with dark elements, this one is about an agricultural high school student. But the stage, despite being everyday society, is very interesting. Agricultural and livestock problems that occur in reality...... For example, there are fewer cattle farms, and so on, all of which are incorporated into the work, but despite the grim shape, there are still people who work hard to achieve it. After reading this work, I once again felt that food was not easy to come by, and every time I said, "I started", I felt grateful. And when the plot of eating the pigs raised by himself appears in the story, it also makes people feel sad "ah ......", but they are also fully aware that it is because of this process that we can eat delicious meals. And the food depicted in the work is delicious, which makes it even more intimate. I think it would be great if young people could become interested in animal husbandry and agriculture because of reading this work. It's not just a happy thing, it's precisely because of the portrayal of the cruel reality that it can be more touching. It's a great piece of work.
Q: Miss Ikoma has read each of these works very thoroughly.
Ikoma: Thank you for your compliment. Although I saw these works relatively early, I didn't just sweep them away. Regardless of the work, I read it with great emotion. So now it's really hard for me to continue to choose my favorite works. Well...... The Last One...... It's "Asian".
When I read this work, I was really shocked. Although it was a very everyday story at the beginning, there was a subhuman "non-human being, and a non-dying being". But what kind of thing is subhuman? The work was not explicitly stated at first, and because of this, I was able to imagine it. Although in the works, subhumans are often seen as bad guys, but sometimes there is a change of concept, such as "although we think so unilaterally, the other party may also see us this way". The reason why people discriminate against subhumans and persecute subhumans is actually not because subhumans have more power than ordinary people, so they are afraid. But the subhumans led by the hero don't have the strength to threaten humanity.,Just do something that can survive.。 This kind of story makes people feel sad, but it also tells us a truth: different beings all survive with their own beliefs and ideas.
The ideal idol image is the boy and girl in the second dimension
Q: Many of the manga have been adapted into anime. So, do you watch anime a lot?
Ikoma: I like it. However, I guess it was after I arrived in Tokyo that I immersed myself in the world of anime. I don't have a TV station in my hometown of Akita, so I had to borrow a DVD to watch it. The first thing I fell in love with was Inuyasha. The protagonist Kagome is very handsome in battle, and this is the first time I have fallen in love with a two-dimensional boy. Because we are idols, we live under the rule of "no love". But I didn't feel much pain. Of course, this is not to say that I am not interested in people, but because there are too many charismatic characters in the second dimension. And the attitude of facing the enemy with your own will can be more vividly presented in front of us once it is adapted into an anime and voiced by a voice actor, and it gives us a more realistic feeling. Not only the appearance of the characters, but also their lifestyles and thoughts make people "I want to be like this too!" The impulse is therefore worth looking forward to.
Q: Do you have an ideal "idol image" in your mind, and this idea is projected onto the character?
Ikoma: That's right. Compared with reality, my longing for the second dimension is stronger. The person I respect the most is Naruto. I always wondered: I hope to be able to be a strong and hard-working person like Naruto.
Q: What kind of works do you recommend among the animation works?
Ikoma: Well, there's no doubt that I'm going to push "Free! 》。 It's the work that sustained me for a summer. I love it! At first glance, you may have the impression that "handsome guys are swimming in swimsuits" (laughs), but the plot is very interesting, and it can also make people resonate with the characters, and you want to shout "Come on~!" Cheer them on. It's like everyone running to the national competition or something, this is a youth that I can't taste. And the characters made that dream come true for me.
"Attack on Titan", the manga itself is very interesting, and the action scenes of the characters in the anime using three-dimensional mobile devices are so handsome, I like it so much. This work can only give people a feeling of despair. Usually works, no matter how desperate the plot is, there will always be some signs of hope at the end, but the plot of "Giant" so far is desperate to the end. But despite this, the characters' attitude of never giving up and continuing to fight is great. The anime is oppressive, and I often cry when I watch it.
I also watched "Computer Coil", and I also liked works such as "The Tiger and the Rabbit" and "Unheard of Flowers". In particular, "Unheard of Flower Names" made me cry from the first episode. The songs are also very good.
Q: You've been involved in a lot of work. But I think your idol life is so busy, it's hard to find time......
Ikoma: Actually, I like to read novels and read them according to the situation of the text. And when you don't have time, even if you read it hastily, you can't form a concept in your head, so you don't have the pleasure of reading at all. In this regard, since the manga can be displayed on screens, it is easier to read and the lines are easier to remember. I can give people enough imagination in a short period of time, so I've been reading manga almost a lot lately (laughs).
Comics feed the mind
Q: Which light novel or entertainment novel do you like?
Ikoma: This one must be a little bit more fantastical, or a work that incorporates some incredible elements. There is also to be a little cruel, and the plot depicts some things that will not happen in daily life. The light novel was also read on the recommendation of a friend, and at the time it was Persona of the Headless Horseman. This work is set in Ikebukuro, and although this is a place in the real world, there are many "impossible things" that happen on such a stage. When I go to Ikebukuro, I always say: Can you meet the hero of the work? Then he walked alone and laughed (laughs). Reading is a great story, but it's even more fun to imagine that you could enter the same world.
There are also "The Lying Boy and the Broken Girl" and "When the Cicadas Cried". …… Yes! I also really like "The Tale of Mismaluka Xingguo"! When reading light novels, although there are sometimes some unexpected plots, the world view is very profound, and it is not lost to ordinary literary works at all. When I was in junior high school, I always used my morning reading time to read light novels. For example, I've already seen "The Gate of the Stone of Destiny", but this is only known through the guò animation.
Q: So do you usually come into contact with the original light novel first, or do you come into contact with the video work first?
Ikoma: I'm basically an original. Although I sometimes go to watch anime and movies first without realizing it, the original work can better reflect what the author wants to express. For example, although I read "Another" through the guò manga version first, I have always wanted to read the novel. As for "Confession", it has also been more popular recently, so I watched the original work later. In a sense, this work portrays a very curious plot, which shocked me a lot...... But because of that, I think it's a world that can only be depicted in a novel. Because there are no pictures, you can imagine cruel things to your heart's content, and at the same time, you can just read without too much imagination, and the degree of freedom is very high. Although sometimes I watch the movie before reading the original, there is no need to fix the concept to the video version in this case. I think that's the kind of fun that novels have.
Q: But after all that, my favorite is manga.
Ikoma: Absolutely. Aren't people often saying: If you read too many comics, you will become a fool? But just as a novel uses an article to express a story, a comic just uses a picture to present the same meaning. Even if it's a textbook, if you turn everything you write into a picture, then it's a comic. Even if you have a headache about history and geography, if you read "Sengoku Basara" and "Hetalia", it will be surprisingly easy to understand. In particular, I am the type that easily puts manga information in my head, so I have gained more knowledge through guò manga than I have learned, and I have received a lot of help because of this. Thanks to Gintama, I got some extra points in the exam (laughs). For me, comics are able to nourish the mind and relieve stress. As time permits, I want to be able to read always, all the time.
