The original anime "Captain Earth" created by animation production company BONES has been launched. The work tells the story of the youth of a delicate teenager and girl, and depicts their struggle against the invaders of the earth. This time, we invited the main voice actors who appeared in the work, including Yuki Irino, Hiroshi Kamiya, Ai Chino, and Riina Hidaka, and asked them to talk about the highlights of the anime!

INFORMATION

"Captain Earth" is an original robot animation work directed by Takuya Igarashi, who created "STARDRIVER Shiny Tarcot", written by Yoji Ekido, and produced by BONES, which has been broadcast in Japan since April this year. Starring voice actors include: Yuki Irino (Manatsu Daichi), Hiroshi Kamiya (Arashi Tetsuhei), Ai Chino (Yumeta Hana), Rina Hidaka (Akira Yassai), Kenichi Suzumura (Amara), Maaya Sakamoto (Moke), Riya Koyama (Tsutomu Nishikubo). The opening theme song is sung by flumpool and is titled "BelieversHigh".

STORY

High school student Matsu Daichi saw a familiar "round rainbow" on TV, so he visited Tanegashima from his childhood memories. There he meets the giant robot "EarthEngine" that shines with white light. Since then, he has met several of his friends, and has begun to work with them to fight against the cosmic invaders who call themselves the "Kill-T-Gang". As the Earth deepens its friendship with its allies during the battle, its potential as a "captain" is gradually revealed...... The "summer thoughts" of the four will fly through the universe -

INTERVIEWER This is a sci-fi robot anime with a lot of technical terms, what was your first impression of the setting of this anime?

Irino: When I auditioned for a character, I got the setting materials for the anime. However, because there was so much content, I was able to barely grasp the synopsis of the story and the personality of the character "Earth".

Kamiya: I'm pretty much like that, and when I read the materials, I was confused. If there are words that you don't understand when reading a paragraph, you need to check other passages to see if there is an explanation, but in this way, there will be more and more words that you don't understand...... As a result, I can't understand anything after getting to the bottom.

Hidaka: It's hard enough to just look at the outline of the character.

Kamiya: Wakabayashi's sound supervisor told us, "If there's anything you don't understand, just ask," but we didn't even know what we were going to ask (laughs). In retrospect, it was from this state that we began to participate in this work.

Irino: When it was time to start the recording, several of the voice actors sat down together and discussed, "What does the word mean?" Slowly, I finally got a little understood.

Kamiya: When I heard the voice of the voice actor, I felt that the concept that was difficult to understand immediately became much easier to understand. Especially when the first episode of the anime was finished, and after re-reading the audition materials, I gradually began to understand that this was a great work (laughs)!

Chino: Everyone said that the content of the work was difficult to understand, but when I auditioned for the character of Hana, I didn't get much information. So I didn't bother with the fact that there was too much content about the work, but instead of everyone else, I was worried about the lack of information at all, and at the time I only knew that it was "an anime with robot battles" (laughs). It was only after borrowing Mr. Kamiya's materials that I began to understand the whole work.

Kamiya: Probably because the characters are different, and the content that I knew beforehand is also different. I think it's a work of depth, and because of that, some characters may be better off if they know less. Xiaohua may be such a character.

INTERVIEWER The first episode of the anime has aired so far, and it is indeed a work full of mysteries, as you said.

Hidaka: That's exactly the case in the first episode, and the words mentioned in the work are basically not explained......

Irino: In the work "Captain Earth", although there are a lot of technical terms, I will not explain it in too much detail in the content of this episode, but will leave it for later. It is common to wait until the next week to give a detailed explanation. But on the flip side, it also shows that "Captain Earth" is a work that doesn't hurt even if you don't understand the setting. At first, it is good to simply enjoy the wonderful battle scenes and handsome combined scenes, and it is not too late to think about the meaning of these words later.

Chino: I think it's a work that can be enjoyed repeatedly, and I hope that when there are more episodes aired in the future, everyone will watch it again and enjoy it!

INTERVIEWER What do you think of your role?

Irino: "Is it really good to go on like this for a long time?" I think everyone has thought about this question at one time or another, and the same is true of the earth I play, a high school student who is indifferent to his future. But through the acquaintance of people, he develops friendships with each other, and will gradually grow. I think the "captain" in the title of the play, "Captain Earth", must also contain the meaning of "gradually growing earth" to some extent.

Hidaka: Personally, I feel that the earth is a very ordinary person in his works.

Chino: That's right, but it's because it fits the image of an ordinary high school student, so it's very cute.

Kamiya: However, he also has a bold side, such as suddenly holding a girl's hand and running......

Hidaka: If you take this out of context, the land will definitely be misunderstood (laughs).

Chino: After all, there was a reason for his actions this time. From this point of view, Dadi is actually a very action-oriented child, and he has a noble personality, and I think this is his charm.

- And what about "Tieping"?

Kamiya: If the earth is an ordinary boy, then Teppei is "completely" an ordinary boy (laughs). In fact, he is burdened with a great mission equal to the importance of saving the earth, and he is a teenager with a complicated situation.

Irino: I haven't mentioned this in the first episode of the anime that just aired, so if you keep talking about it, it's going to be a spoiler (laughs)!

Hidaka: Then we can't say anything (laughs).

Kamiya: It's probably going to be a while before the content of this interview appears in the magazine, so I'd love to say more, but I'll save it until the next time. By the way, the four main characters are all about the same age, but in terms of voice actors, I alone raised the average age a lot (laughs). However, since I was chosen, I think it must have a corresponding meaning.

- "Little Flower" is also the same as Tieping, full of mysteries.

Chino: If you had to use "ordinary" and "unusual" to make a distinction, then Hana would be an unusual girl (laughs). But that's all I can say...... It's better to say that there are more mysteries on Xiaohua than Tieping's (laughs).

Irino: Xiaohua's appearance in the first episode is probably only in the scene inside the sphere.

Chino: That's right. Well, I really can't say anything (laughs). As for her character, during the audition, I imagined her as a calm girl full of secrets, but in fact she will have a very cute side! Please also look forward to her next active performance.

- What is the role of "Amin"?

Amin kept repeating the same line in the first episode, "It looks funny", and he didn't say anything else (laughs). She's an incredible girl who can show off her belly button and use the so-called "powerful belly button" move, and she likes to make the atmosphere the most in the whole team. However, although she has a cheerful side, in fact, her past is very sad and painful, so she sometimes shows a kind of look that sees through the mundane world. When she and her team members act together, she will also pay close attention to the people and things around her, showing a strong curiosity about the things around her. She will definitely be active in her works in the future, so stay tuned!

- The above four members will form a team to drive the story forward, right?

Irino: Yes, although we don't know each other in the first episode, we will eventually become partners. When acting out the dialogue between them, I pay extra attention to the kind of affection between the characters (although this is the most basic thing...). ）。

Kamiya: As far as Tetsuhei is concerned, I paid special attention to his feelings for the earth when I played him. Since he was a child, he has been subjected to the strange eyes of others, and only the earth is willing to cross the barrier and approach Tieping. I think he must have been very happy at the time. Therefore, in Tie Ping's heart, the earth has always been a special existence for him. This time, this precious friendship is not just something between the two of them, but will gradually spread to the four members of the entire team, and I hope that the audience can feel this change in them.

Hidaka: Although Armin has a sense of competition for Xiaohua, it doesn't mean that the relationship between the two of them is not good, at most it is just for the position of the heroine of the story.

Chino: I think that from Xiaohua's point of view, if you tell her that Armin is your opponent, she will probably only answer with a blank face; "Eh, is that so?" (laughs). Because Xiaohua and Tieping grew up in a special environment, there are often a lot of scenes in daily life that are too simple and embarrassed, but since they met the earth, there have been a lot of changes, I hope everyone can pay attention to her changes.

Irino: I made a clear distinction between the scenes of life and the rest of the scenes, and tried to create a clear contrast as much as possible, such as when I was relaxed, I really acted with a sense of relaxation.

Chino: Yes, especially when there is a scene of delicious food, it feels like that!

"The royal robot animation that is only possible today, with a convincing story setting!"

INTERVIEWER We've been talking about the youth story of the work, but let's talk about the part where robots appear. Do you have any thoughts on the battle scenes?

Irino: To be honest, when I first saw "EarthEngine", I thought it was "too big"! Because it's the main character, many viewers think it's handsome at first, but EarthEngine is not like that at all. You can see that it is "big" from the design of the body, and it will be even bigger when you watch the animation! At first, I really didn't think it was handsome at all, but after seeing the moving image, my preconceived impression was subverted in an instant, and it was really a heroic and handsome robot! I didn't expect the earth to manipulate it, which is really unexpected, but such a contrast may also be a certain charm of the work.

Hidaka: I don't know much about robots, but all in all, they're handsome! I'm excited to see it even as a woman, so I'm sure it's right.

Chino: "Quack", "Beep", super handsome!

Irino: These foley words are actually expressing the fit scene (laughs).

Kamiya: In the work, aliens named "KILL-T-GANG" appear as enemies, and they use superhuman abilities just like characters in the fantasy world. To put it bluntly, it's the players in the game who cheat. In contrast, the earth side has done enough science fiction research and can only fight with robots that conform to reality. If you don't send a robot into space without a rocket, you won't be able to fit in, so don't you think it's super unfair! However, such a setting also has its meaning, and there will be a section of the story dedicated to these human shackles.

Chino: But I think it's nice to fly into the universe as a robot from the beginning (laughs).

Kamiya: The graphics and plot are deliberately not done that way, but I think it's more convincing. Also, if you have a robot combined, it will be more burning (laughs).

- Everyday life and robot battles make people look forward to the future of the story in every sense. Finally, tell us what this story is about.

Hidaka: Please pay close attention to the members of the Siming Squad, including Daichi! Although Amin is a girl who will enjoy it even if she is in a deep crisis, she will definitely change slowly and gradually in the future, so please keep an eye on her growth! In addition, the characters in the enemy formation are also full of personality, and I believe everyone will like them too.

Chino: There are so many things I want to recommend to you, and it's hard to choose the best one, but I still want to recommend my character, Hana. Although she is still a fan of the character, she will definitely change gradually after meeting the earth and others, so please watch how she changes and what major decisions she makes. Also, don't think that the "Pitts" she plays with is just a cute little animal, in fact, it is also a key character in the story (keyparson).

Chino: Should I say keyanimal? Anyway, please pay attention! What's more, in fact, I also sang the ending theme song of the anime as a flower. This is a graceful and tender song, but I don't know what it is, and it will be used as background music for battle scenes. It's amazing that it does work to the beat of the battle...... The content of the lyrics expresses Xiaohua's inner feelings, and please enjoy it while thinking of Xiaohua.

- What about Mr. Kamiya and Mr. Irino?

Kamiya: After our voice actor lineup is recorded, we will see the finished video, and every time we watch it, we will say our thoughts in unison - "It's super fun!" ”

Kamiya: When I read the script, I thought the story was hard to understand, but when I put the pictures, colors, and sounds, I didn't expect it to become so convincing. I was really surprised!

Irino: All the elements of this work are excellent, not just one aspect of the work, and it depicts a "royal robot animation", which is nostalgic to listen to, and it also combines modern themes and uses the latest technology to present it, in this sense, it can be said to be a work that is "only possible today".
