This year is 2014, which happens to be the 20th anniversary of the new director's career as a director. If so, what kind of event will it be? Let's listen to what new plans the new director has this year.

- First of all, congratulations to the new director, on the 20th anniversary of your directorial career! As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, do you have anyone in particular you'd like to meet or have a conversation with? For example, the producer or something.

Nifu: I'd love to meet Hiroyuki Orugawa, who currently works at FlyingDog and was the producer of my first directing film, Bishoujo Combat Team (1994). At that time, he seemed to remember my name after watching a TV series in which I was performing. But at the time, he seemed to have mispronounced my last name, Shinbo, (laughs).

- Probably because the surname Xinfang is relatively rare, so he got the pronunciation wrong.

Xinfang: Later, with the recommendation of others, it developed into my first work. After a gap of 10 years, it was not until 2004 that I had the opportunity to work with Mr. Orukawa again on "MOONPHASE-". Because we had agreed to do something every ten years, I wanted to have a commemorative event for the 20th anniversary this year, but unfortunately we always seemed to be at odds with each other, but we had to wait for his reply.

- We are all waiting for good news from you and the producers of Omegawa. In addition to Producer Orugawa, are there any other producers with whom you share the same memories? By the way, how is Atsuhiro Iwakami's producer? Since he collaborated with the director of Xinfang on "Sketch of the Sun", he should have collaborated with you on a lot of works in the next seven years.

Xinfang: Producer Iwakami, how can you say that he is good? He's a very motivated producer. What I remember the most is when I worked with him on "The Tale of Things". At that time, it was planned to broadcast a total of 15 episodes to end the TV series, and the response to this design was very good, especially after the fifteenth episode, the theme song sung by supercell matched the picture seamlessly. The story script of "Madoka Magical Girl" was completed a long time ago, but he chose to broadcast it at the perfect time in 2011. The reason why "Madoka Magical Girl" is so popular is that I think it has something to do with this excellent timing of the broadcast.

- Looking back on the past seven years, it must be very interesting, after all, there are bitter and happy things.

New House: The Iwagami Producers are able to handle any difficult situation with composure, and when the production process goes wrong, when everyone panics, the Iwagami Producers are still calm and unwavering. I really think that's very valuable to him.

INTERVIEWER You just talked about the "dilemma", but if you were to count the producers who were going through the difficulties with you, the director of the new house, I would probably be the producer Junichiro Tanaka of TBS TV.

Shinbo: In the first season of Sketch of the Sun, producer Tanaka was working with me in the studio until the delivery date, and I think this kind of producer is really reliable.

INTERVIEWER Hehe, your experience with producer Tanaka seems to be very interesting. In the past 20 years, Director Xinfang has really collaborated with many producers. Of course, you'll be releasing several new titles this year, right?

Xinfang: It's a good thing to be busy, but if I want to be honest, I still want to have a little more free time.

INTERVIEWER What would you like to do now if you had time?

Xinfang: I want to read more and more, first of all, I want to read all the books that I haven't read yet, and then I want to buy old books in the used bookstore in Kanda...... In short, I want to spend more time on the hobby side.

- I think so too! Every day I only care about work, all of which is the output of knowledge, and there is a lack of input.

INTERVIEWER When was the first time you interviewed the director of the new house?

Newtype (hereinafter referred to as NT): As an entire editor-editor department, the first time I interviewed director Shinbo was probably when you directed the ** film "Bishoujo Combat Team" (1994). Although I hadn't joined the NT editorial department at the time, I heard from the senior who was in charge of the interview at the time that he had been paying attention to you since the director of Shinbo was involved in the production of "Yuyu Hakusho".

Xinfang: Yes, I also vaguely remember that I received the request from the editorial department not long after the completion of "Yu You Hakushu".

NT: It's no wonder that the subject of the interview at the time was "Sailor Girls". I don't know much after that, but after a while, the editor-editor department should have interviewed the director of Shinbo about "MOONPHASE-" (2004), and I guess the first time I met with Shinbo director was in "Incredible Classroom" (2005). At that time, after the interview, you and I went to dinner together, and we talked about two or three o'clock in the evening.

Shinbo: Yes, one of the shops I frequented at that time was open until late at night.

NT: At that time, the director of the new house also invited a lot of animation producers, so it was a great honor for me to meet with all the masters. In the blink of an eye, it's been nine years now!

New home: 9 years...... I remember quitting smoking after making "The Incredible Classroom", but I didn't expect it to be so long.

NT: Have you ever had a hard time smoking?

Xinfang: No, I caught a cold just after the production of "The Incredible Classroom", and then I completely lost the feeling of wanting to smoke. I thought that I must have quit smoking, and I was excited to tell Mitsutoshi Kubota (the president of the animation production company SHAFT) about it, but he was not surprised at all and said, "I'm starting to quit smoking too." I still remember the disappointment I felt at that time.

NT: Hahaha, it turns out that Director Shinbo and President Kubota both started to quit smoking at that time. Soon after, another editor did a special feature called "Current Interesting Animators", and one of the people he interviewed was Mr. Tatsuya Oishi, who introduced some of the opening theme song images he had produced, including "The Incredible Classroom" and "The Magic Teacher".

Xinfang: I really don't know about this. However, I also think that the opening theme song image of "Magic Teacher" is the best in Mr. Odaishi's work.

NT: If I interviewed you, the director of the new house, I guess it would be time for "The Tale of Things". At that time, there was an editor who was working on a column about "Arakawa Hilarious Troupe", and in order to cooperate with this column, the editorial department planned to add a conversation between director Shinbo and director Mizushima and a conversation with Miss Akao. Oh, and we've had a conversation with Mr. Endo (the author of Maria Mania).

INTERVIEWER That's probably when we started this column. At the beginning, in each issue, some of the original authors of the works will be invited to come back and have a conversation with the director of the new house, and then ask them to draw the two-dimensional avatar of the director of the new house.

NT: After you published your original work "Madoka Magical Girl", we wrote so many articles, and when the new work was published, we published an interview with the screenwriter of Xuyuan Xuan, the director of Xinfang, and the teacher Cangshumei; When the theatrical version of "Front/After/New Chapter" was published, we were allowed to use the new color picture of Ms. Cang Shumei as the cover, and the editorial-editorial department really felt very honored.
