Chapter 383: Twilight is hard to sink
Volendam, in the north of the Netherlands, is a small fishing village on the shores of Lake Ijsselmeer, with a population of about 20,000 people, who make their living mainly from fishing and tourism. Once upon a time, when Lake Ether was a bay, the people here made a living from fishing. Later, in order to resist the floods, the Dutch built a dam to the north, and the bay became what is now Lake Ether. Although the original South Sea (Zuider Zee) has long since been renamed Lake Ether after the construction of the North Sea Dam, the fishing villages that surround the lake like a pearl necklace have not been lost, and many of them still retain their traditional charm and attract many tourists to Amsterdam. From Amsterdam Central Station, take the Arriva bus 110 and 111 for about half an hour to Volendam.
I came here early in the early autumn morning. The sea breeze blew lightly, and after a while, the sun slowly became longer, streaking across the entire coastline, waking up everything in the town, warm.
Walking through the streets of the village, many locals who were running and cycling in the morning saw me enthusiastically saying "hello". Let you feel that you are no longer a guest, wave your hand and say "G", you have integrated into that warmth, everything is so natural and logical.
The fishing village is full of colorful red-brick cottages with steeple roofs, flowers and plants are planted in the fence outside, the windows of the houses are bright and spacious, and the lace curtains carefully selected by the owner are hung outside, and the windowsills are either decorated with cute cartoon ornaments or seasonal flowers. The village runs through a small river with a small drawbridge named after a member of the Dutch royal family, and ducks and swans swim freely.
The clear blue sky is deep and bright, and the sparkling waters of Lake Ether are moored with sailboats of all sizes, while the quay streets are lined with small shops, restaurants and coffee bars. Some of the shops are filled with young girls dressed in traditional costumes selling local products and souvenirs, and some coffee bars have tables and chairs set up in front of the bars all day long, where people sit in groups drinking freshly ground coffee, basking in the sea breeze and sun, watching the boats come to shore and people come and go. You can also find a small restaurant to eat traditional Dutch home-style seafood dishes, which are sure to leave you with a lot of memorrhage.
The fairytale house in the town of Volendam, with its courtyard, courtyard, window sill, and flower decoration, feels different. The sun pours down on the courtyard, the delicate flowers smile brightly, the butterflies flutter, and the bees flutter their wings and sing.
The breeze blows, the fragrance fills the heart, in this autumn breeze, touch the beauty in front of you, revel in the dreamlike paradise, wake up, but still smell the fragrance of flowers.
In fact, there is a kind of emotion: what you give is what I want at the moment.
And at this moment, I do not belong to the hustle and bustle of the city, nor to the remote village, but to Volendam, this small fishing village in the North Sea of the Netherlands.
When the bridge, the lake, and the people form a vivid oil painting; When the boats and windmills shake out a piece of brilliance, I just want to stay here: watch the fishing boats return from fishing, feast on gluttonous seafood, bask in the warm sun and eat afternoon tea, sit and wait for the sunset to reflect the red lake, the clouds are light and the wind is light, and the slow time passes quietly!
