Volume 1 The First Cry Chapter 22 This thing will flourish in the world
Because it was too late to talk about the oil lamp at night, Mr. Xuanpu took a group of people to Lan Xueliao near noon the next day. Mr. Xuan Pu first took Naohide to visit the owner of the medical hall, Shimamoto Yoshishun, and presented the book "Optics", Naohide bowed respectfully, presented a sorbidopy, and enthusiastically expressed his admiration for Saga and the medical museum.
Naoxiu didn't want to stay in Saga for a long time, and "Optics" wouldn't stay in Lan Xueliao, so after Mr. Xuan Pu returned to Lan Xueliao, he gathered several Lan scholars, introduced each other, and was ready to start arranging for everyone to copy books.
Although you can open the pages of the book and find a few more people to copy it together, but the people who are familiar with Lan Wen are only Mr. Xuan Pu, Oishi Liangying, Otin Gakusai, Yamamura Yoshitsu and Naoxiu in Lan Xueliao, and the two disciples of Mr. Xuan Pu may be okay, well, Naoxiu is also okay, and the two students of Naoxiu can't be counted on at all.
Although I have heard of the fierce man who wrote tens of thousands of words one day in this year, Naoxiu himself is not so sharp, don't be dizzy and trembling when you arrive, you can't get a myopia, you can't do it. If Mr. Xuan Pu is ruthless, everyone copies one, then the fun will be great, and if you can't stay in Saga for a few days, you have to copy books every day, and you don't want to do other serious things.
How can you get out?
The traverser himself was hanging, and Naohide asked Gakujiro to take out the magic weapon from the package he carried - a porcelain plate, a few pieces of wax paper, and an iron pen.
In the future, in 1881, Geistener, a Hungarian living in England, invented wax paper printing, he used waxed fiber paper as a template, and used an iron pen to engrave the information to be printed on the wax paper, and the iron pen engraved on the fiber paper There will be gaps, and then the paper is placed under the wax paper, the ink is brushed on the wax paper, and the roller is pressed back and forth to make the ink adhere to the paper below through the wax paper.
Naoxiu explained the principle to everyone, and said that I hope everyone can do it in one step, directly copy the book on wax paper, and then I will print it for everyone, and then everyone will have a beautiful copy. Mr. Xuan Pu was very happy to hear it, because it was really troublesome to print the Lan books in recent years, and most of the Lan books in the hands of Lan scholars were hand-copied, and there were many mistakes. Often, the meaning of one word is the opposite, and everyone is quite troubled by this.
Why aren't books printed? It's not that the current level of printing is not good, but that there is a lack of movable type in Lanwen.
China was the first region in the world to develop printing technology, and with the spread of culture, woodcut printing of Buddhist scriptures also appeared in Fusang in the eighth century.
However, printing technology stagnated, and movable type printing in Fuso did not develop until the 16th century. There are many theories about the origin of movable type printing in Fuso, but there are undoubtedly three channels:
In 1590, Western missionaries opened a printing office for missionary activities, and professional printers brought lead, ink, paper, and printing presses to publish books through movable type printing.
At the same time, the Tianzheng Youth Envoy returned to China. In 1582 (the 10th year of Tensho), the Daimyo of Kiritan in the Kyushu region, Otomo Sorin, Juntada Omura, and Harunobu Arima united to send a mission of four young men and two servants to the Holy See. The mission was initiated by the missionary Fan Li'an and returned to Fuso in 1590 (the 18th year of Tensho). The mission brought Europa's Gutenberg press and movable type printing back to Japan.
Another source of movable type printing is from Goryeo. After Bi Sheng invented movable type printing, the Koreans began to use clay movable type and other methods to print books, and later used wooden movable type to print books. In the thirteenth century, they first invented the printing of books with movable copper type. China used movable copper type to print books slightly later than North Korea. The Koreans also created movable type for lead, movable type, etc.
In 1592, the Battle of Wanli to aid Goryeo broke out, Goryeo called it "Imjin War", Fusang called it "Munroku Gyeoncho Battle", during which the Fuso daimyo Kato Kiyomasa snatched back the movable type printing equipment such as Goryeo copper movable type to Fuso and dedicated it to the then Emperor Goyangsung, which was highly respected by Emperor Goyangsung. Fusang's famous "Ancient Texts and Filial Piety Classics" is the result of movable type printing during this period.
Later, Emperor Goyosei ordered the Toyotomi regime at that time to promote movable type printing, and within six years cast more than 100,000 wooden movable type, and then cast more than 90,000 copper movable type, since then movable type printing has been widely spread in Fuso, and the folk have produced exquisite books such as "Koyue Ben" and "Sagaben", and in the early Tokugawa shogunate, there were also official famous movable type printing "Suruga Edition", "Daizo List Collection", and "Shoshu Jiji".
At that time, Chinese culture was the mainstream in Goryeo and Fusang, so most of the books were written in Chinese characters, which is also the reason why Goryeo's movable type printing technology was able to rise in Fuso.
But later, the shogunate class solidified, the books circulated by the samurai class were some classics, the folk were all Buddhist scriptures, and there were few new books, so engraving printing became the mainstream of printing again because of its beautiful handwriting, but movable type printing was still circulating among book merchants - most of them were used to print small advertisements or love action books.
Lan scholars have always been very troubled by book printing.
The printing of Fusang Yulan books is already very distressed, because the cost of woodcarving is high, so it can only be printed with movable type, but the market audience is small, and booksellers are reluctant to print, unless they add money, resulting in many Lan scholars copying books to learn.
The original Lan books are even more miserable, don't think about printing, all are hand-copied, it is said that Sheng Haizhou copied a bilingual dictionary of Lan and Fusang, which may have improved the content, and a dictionary sold for thirty taels of gold.
Zhixiu has always wanted Sheng Haizhou to introduce this local tyrant to him, but now Sheng Haizhou has not started selling books, and Zhixiu has to continue to wait.
So after Zhixiu took out the technology of wax paper printing, the Lan scholars were directly excited, Zhixiu said, "It's just an idea that hasn't had time to practice", and Mr. Xuanpu directly scolded, "Then you are still sitting here?" Don't hurry up and do it."
Nao-su slipped out with two students aggrieved, and in the name of Mr. Hyun Pu, he asked the servants to apply for a little ink for printing at the Gakukoko-dokan. After that, I worked with the students to figure out how to solve other devices.
The porcelain plate was asked from Mr. Xuanpu's servant before coming to Lan Xueliao, the servant's eyes were very subtle, and he brought his own tableware to eat at the Hongdao Pavilion, and he was able to do this step in order to ruin Mr.'s reputation, which was really ruthless.
The wax paper and iron pen were made when I was playing in Xiaseki, and the wax in Changzhou was very famous, so I bought some to see how the quality was, and by the way, the waste was used to let the students make wax paper; As for the iron pen, Naoxiu saw that the wax paper was available, and then bought a thick needle and tied it to the brush, which is not good, but it can be used.
The crayon printing equipment I saw in the previous life had a thin iron plate with a movable clip on top, wax paper, iron pens, ink, and a cylinder. The ink application has not yet arrived, and now there is still a lack of a cylinder, and the disk area is too small to apply, today is to demonstrate it, it is really not suitable for lettering.
At first, Naohide wanted to maintain the style, using the round bamboo brush in the tea ceremony, and the brush that stirred the tea leaves to make it foam was the round bamboo brush, but later found that the round bamboo brush was really a bamboo brush, all made of bamboo, and the ink was definitely not good.
Later, he wanted to use "bunches", which are brushes tied to straw or other plant fibers, and Fuso used to brush pots and dishes. But the drum is really easy to use, and anyway, the porcelain plate itself is not satisfied, so let's try to see if we can find a replacement for the drum and the smooth thin iron plate, and look for it in the commercial town.
Naoxiu set off with two students and a servant of Lan Xueliao, and the result went well, and Naoxiu told the carpenter and blacksmith about his needs.
Money can be channeled, and the carpenter cut off an unfinished wooden axle, added a handle, and made several rollers for one axle, which looks a little stupid, but it's okay.
As for the smooth thin iron plates, there are very few Fuso iron armor, so Naohide thinks it will cost a lot of money, but when he asked the blacksmith, the blacksmith said that we have a lot of thin iron sheets, because the peasants can't afford to use iron tools, and farm tools like the "Bichu Pickaxe" are all covered with iron sheets. Zhixiuxin said, when I used to teach the villagers rice field fish farming in Ishida Village, I really didn't pay attention to it, and I told Zhuangwu (the village head) directly if I had any requests, and I really didn't notice this pit father's farm tools.
The iron sheet area that Naoxiu wants is not large, the size is between A3 and A4, and the blacksmith quickly did it, and polished it, which is quite smooth, and now the carpenter and blacksmith's craftsmanship is really good.
In order to prevent the deformation of the iron sheet, Naohide asked a carpenter to fix the wooden board behind the iron sheet, and added a wooden strip above the front, which was pierced and fixed with a rope, well, even the clips were there.
Before dusk, everything was done, and the blacksmith and carpenter were each paid two gold sentences, and everyone was very happy, and they didn't let the delivery be made, and they returned to the medical hall with iron pieces and rollers. Zhixiu divided the fruits he bought with his hands among the servants, and then entered Lan Xueliao.
When I came in, Mr. Xuan Pu was studying "Optics" with the three gentlemen, reading a paragraph, and then discussing it for a while, scratching his ears and cheeks was quite ridiculous.
"The ink is here, and you can start printing it."
"Sir, wait, Naoxiu will start now", poor Naoxiu didn't even take a sip of water, and started to perform. After some operation, Zhixiu rolled a few times with a wooden roller wrapped in thin cotton cloth, uncovered the wax paper, and saw the four big characters on it "learning endlessly", and the ink was still not very good, because the font was written relatively large, and the edges were still a little blurry, but Mr. Xuan Pu and everyone were very satisfied, "Excellent, excellent, this thing will be great in the world."
Naoxiu glanced at the two students proudly, and found that they were shivering, it was October in the Gregorian calendar, and it was December in the Gregorian calendar, and it was time to wear more clothes when the weather was cold.
It's already dark, and the gentlemen of Xuan Pu don't go to dinner, they take the printed paper and look at it over and over again, and they don't know what they can see, anyway, Naoxiu is not used to using an iron pen, this font is quite ugly, and he is weak on the side.
After a while, the gentlemen laid a piece of iron sheet again, an iron pen everyone took turns to engrave words on the wax paper and then print, everyone kept sighing, Naoxiu was surprised to find that the fonts were very good, very few out of shape, "Accidental, just by chance, in fact, my words are not far from ......", the two students also gathered around Mr. Xuan Pu to mend the knife, saying that these tools are how hard they personally find someone to do, Naoxiu had to be depressed to be a transparent person in the corner, and the imaginary scene around himself only lasted three seconds, It's not too enjoyable in the aftertaste.
I don't know how long it took, Nao-su was cold and hungry, and was woken up in a daze, "It's hard, Nao-so", Mr. Hyun Pu looked at him with a smile, and his expression was very warm and happy. The group went home in the bright moonlight, as if the weather was not very cold.
